In a haze of vapor
@astrocity, it's post 279, there's a rubber insulator that is blocking the airholes . . . I think. I took two pliers to unscrew by holding on to the part above and below the AFC ring.

Man mine was seized up but while I was in there I gapped the airholes on the pole. 8wrap 28g microcoil on cotton. No oring. Bliss right now.

So glad I ran this.

No dice. Very little liquid actually drained out. I guess I've got the problem with the....weird blockage down around the airflow control ring? As soon as I open that up it just leaks and leaks, and trying to take a drag is like sucking on a tiny straw. I can hear the coil gurgling down there so I know it's flooded.

What do I do now? Try to torque off the airflow ring?

Dammitt I want to love this thing!!!! Why won't you let me love you?!!! Gaarrrr!!!!!

I've got an Ithaka clone on the way from fasttech. Is it going to give me the same grief?

Gee, I guess I got mine from the wrong co op, as mine were $30 ea delivered.
We opted for no logo on the cap but that's neither here nor there for me.
Certainly gives a good idea what suppliers are buying them for though, that's a lot of mark up from $15 and some change.
I realize that there's some shipping charges involved that I didn't include.

Have you built a coil that can completely block off the juice flow completely? Just start from there and work your way down until it leaks. Then you'll know the range of wick sizes you can use.

Don't forget to blow any juice out of the chamber where the airholes are before starting your next build.

a big reason you might have flooding while vaping is because of the fill screw, make sure it seals *tight* if it's not, it will flood! i personally use teflon tape. you could also use plastic wrap i suppose...
This is a good suggestion. My dad's looked like it was screwed tight but it wasn't and it leaked like crazy.

yes that fill screw is a weak link on mine! either the screw is too small or the threads are foobared.... eventually I'll fill mine with JB Weld and make a whole new one. or something along those lines... haven't committed yet ;)

So I have having some problems with my Fogger V2. I have tried a 1/16th drill bit sized micro coil, and a 5/64th sized micro coil. The problem isn't the coil, its the darn cotton wick! I can't seem to get it right, it either leaks like a sieve, or it gets really dry burnt hits. I Just cant seem to get the wick to that "perfect" size. So frustrating! Also was wondering if it is possible to drill out larger air holes. I feel like im trying to breathe thru a straw!

So, had some (rare) spare time this afternoon, so I pulled out the Fogger v2 that was just a flooding mess... and I think I finally have repeatable success.

Followed Scrappy's lead and dug out my (pre-boiled) Peaches & Cream #4 cotton yarn. I like this idea for wick, as yarn has a much more consistent wick density/diameter/whatever than just the "take a pinch off a cotton ball" approach I was using.

I removed one of the threads (leaving 3) and fed it through my 0.9ohm microcoil (28ga Kanthal, 1/16th drill bit ID). Getting all 3 strings through the coil was a bit of a challenge, as one bunched up on me, but it wasn't very tight once I got that sorted... so no concerns over choking the coil once it expands. Snipped it off with just a tuft (maybe 1/2mm) left outside, and I installed the under-chimney o-ring.

So far, vaping really, really well. No flooding/gurgling and great, saturated flavor. It seems to be keeping up with my chain vaping.

I'm hoping this is the secret with this thing, because when you get a good setup, it's a absolutely fantastic vape...

Just rebuilt that bottom section ... for the life of my I cannot run without an o-ring under the chimney / juice control piece ... leak city when I try... even though to my eye it looks like the same amount of clearance around the wick holes.

Same here. Mine flooded so bad with it off that I literally got a mouth full of juice -- I had the air control almost fully closed by accident, pulled a draw, and had juice geyser up into my mouth!

Perhaps it's the wick was too small, or cut too close... don't know, but I run with the oring now. Juice tastes good when vaped, but not when drank... :)

That's what will happen, when air holes are closed, suction causes juice to be pulled into the tube

I did it! I FINALLY got my Fogger foggin'!!!

Turns out, it's a little finicky about what mod it's connected to. It just can't make a good connection with my Magneto, and I've got the version with the adjustable center pin. I don't know what exactly is the problem.

Anyway, on a lark I plopped it on my brass Sigelei #19 and lo and behold, it works JUST FINE. No flooding, no dry hits. I'm sure it could be working better, but it's producing more-than-acceptable flavor and vapor. Now that I know ... I'm doing I can get to work on perfecting the coil in this thing.

MAN I'm relieved! Whew!

First shot and I know this has potential. Just have to tweak.

Tonight I rebuilt it by memory of this and the other thread. Everything including afc is functioning properly on mine. I did a micro (mini?) Coil on 5/32, 8 or 9 wraps, 1 ohm. Threaded p&c yarn through it. Put the rubber grommet/oring (?) On top of the extending yarn and clipped of any yarn hanging out.

Vaping decent to great. Dryish slightly burn every once in a while. I've got some fiddling to do tomorrow to get this just right with juice and airflow. But I think I'm gonna like it. Thanks Daniel!

I'm going to read back through the threads but any suggestions?

I was posting a picture of the mod (DHX-TS) in another thread so I thought I'd post it here to since it's sporting a v2 Fogger
