Just bought fogger v2, the guy at the shop did the res for me, 0,20 kantal and 3,5 mm wick, well when I vape it hurts my throat so I stopped to use it, what can be the error ?

I've only used Iclear 30 till now.

thanks

There's a ring at the base of the Fogger that allows you to adjust the air flow ... I would check to see that it's all the way open. Also, do you have it on a mechanical mod, or a VV? Devices like this are MUCH better at delivering nic, so you might have to drop to a lower strength.

A bit hard to say without more details, but from your description I would venture to guess dry hit caused by poor wicking! From my Fogger experience, even a 2mm wick will dry hit! A 3.5 seems to me would be way to fat, and would not wick well enough to keep the coil wet.

more details would be helpfull, your voltage, and coil resistance is important. Also, if your saying 20 gauge Kanthal? \

I'm assuming .20mm Kanthal, or better known as 32 gauge

Received my Fogger V2 yesterday, but didn't get a chance to try it out until this morning. First thing I did with it last night was clean it out pretty thoroughly, and I'm glad I did. I must have rinsed it in hot water at least 2-3 times, even had it in a bowl with hot water running through it, and still when I went to build this morning before work, it smelled a bit like oil. I ended up taking a cloth with high proof vodka to it, and still had a slight taste of the oil when I vaped.

That aside, I'll say this: It ain't easy, but when it's working... Yowza.

My first attempt at wicking, I used 3mm Ekowool with a very tight micro coil, but it just wouldn't fit properly, or at least it seemed too thick, and I was seeing the coils (7 wraps 30g kanthal) very nearly touching the posts. Second attempt, I did an 8 wrap tight/micro coil, about 2mm diameter, and boy was that tricky to get on to the posts! I did manage it, came in at exactly 2Ω, which is right about my liking, and got a cotton wick through without much trouble.

Next few mistakes because of course I made them even after reading this thread :)

Put in a few mL of juice, taking care to have the air flow holes closed, used a needle tip for the juice, and as I'd seen Todd do in his review, I gave it a pull. Doh! With the holes completely closed, that just filled the well. Opened it up, cleaned, put back together, put in juice... and neglected to close the air holes, so the juice pretty much just poured all over my hands.

Right. THIS time, after a quick cleaning, put it back together, closed the air holes, the well was nice and tidy, put in a few mL of juice again, put the screw cap back on, let it sit, opened the air holes and gave a short pull. Moment of a tiny gurgle, but that was it. Gave it a quick fire, no problem. Gave it a toot.

F'ing brilliant. I mean, fantastic, right off the bat. I'm using it on a Zmax and initially had it only at 5 watts, so I upped it to 10, and it's giving me vapor on par or better than the Kanger ProTank, but with flavor that's much, much better.

Tonight I'm going to try a few different wicks and coils (because tinkering), and take a few pictures. But other than my mistakes at the beginning, this is already my favorite. For traveling I will probably still use the ProTank, but at home I can see this becoming my default "go to" RBA. Really loving it so far.

Sounds interesting!! But, got cotton wick through where? Through the ecowool after the coil was wrapped? How? I'm sure I'm missunderstanding, because if cotton could be threaded through ecowool, which I've never tried, I would think you would do it before wrapping the coil.

I currently have a vertical micro surrounded by cotton. Working well, but I'm not blown away. And I really don't like cotton exposed to the coil on these inside build type RBAs.

Ah, sorry, no I mean got the cotton through my coil :) I mounted the coil first, tested it out, checked resistance, then made a wick from part of a cotton ball.

I'd been considering a "dragon" like vertical build, just for the fun of it, however I'm really liking what I'm getting from this as far as vapor and flavor. When I do use Ekowool, I put a small screwdriver (1/16) through the length of it, coil with the screwdriver in place, and mount it in my RBA. Once my wires are secured, I pull the screwdriver out. I didn't do that with the Fogger, though, as the posts were / are just too far down and there's really not much room to work with. When I tried with 3mm Ekowool, the side slots were too small for it to get in place without completely shredding the ends. I'm happy with the cotton. I twisted it half way along the length, threaded it through the coil, then twisted it the opposite way to "fluff up" the cotton before packing it into the side slots. The o-ring I've deliberately left off.

Hi

bought fogger v2 2 days ago, well first the guy at the shop made a res 3,5mm @2.0 and wasnt working good, hurting my throat.

So i tryed my self and did res with single wick 3mm @1,8 ohm and when I vape 2 times in a row it taste like burned or like I smell the wick, dunno im new to vaping and cant understand much :p

I tryed today again, double wick 3mm @1,8ohm and same result.

What im doing wrong ? I removed the Oring like ppl said in forum, no goorgling or other problems.

thanks

As I already said, I believe your wick size is a bit large, it could be choking off your juice flow, I'm currently using two 2mm pieces of wick with 5 turns of 32 gauge, the wicks being stacked, and one wick about 75% of the wick which goes through the juice channel, which is a fairly good fit, I tried a piece of 2.5 mm Ekowool, and it was doing pretty much the same thing your describing, It would be a safe bet the 3mm wick is way to tight. You could probably pull a few strands from the 3mm and make it a bit smaller and try that.

Also what voltage are you Vaping at? what device are you using to power your Fogger?

Since I can't roll mesh tight enough, I think I'll try to trim down a teeny tiny piece of ss cable, and encase it in ekowool. That way I don't have to worry about shorts. The hardest part will be trying to keep the cable from unraveling when I cut it so small. I'll have to wrap some tape around the area that I'm going to cut. That oughta do the trick.....
Try tying it with cotton thread on both sides of the cut......then cut in the middle! :D

Ok. My fault matt. I read too fast and didn't see that you'd move on from the ekowool. Thought you wrapped coil tight around eco then stuffed cotton through it.

All good :)

And last night, I was digging what I had as far as results so much, I couldn't get myself to take it apart and re-coil. Finally around 9:00pm I used up all the juice that was in it, took it apart, made a coil (about 6 wraps 30g, 1.5Ω), put in the wick... And the damned thing started shorting >_<

Looks like I didn't dodge that bullet as I'd thought. Oh well, I'll have at it again tonight after going through this thread. I've seen a couple tips on how to fix this. It's such a pity, the device is seriously great once you've got it going, there's just several "quirks" that keep it from being perfect.

Take a hard look at your 510 screw. If it looks to be leaning off center, take your deck apart. I also recommend not wasting your time adding another o-ring under that screw at the very bottom as per "Todd's review", it only masks and delays the real problem. If that screw is leaning, it means the air tube/disc assembly that it screws into is also leaning, which means that assembly will or already is shorting out against the underside of your coil deck as the whole thing gets sandwiched together.
