I know all that he's said. We've "engaged" on more than one occasion. What I recall most clearly is something about "...throwing it out a window", which is what led me to my initial comment herein. I'm just saying that if he actually pulls-such-a-trigger (and buys), I'm spending all of money before 21-Dec.

Freakin' Mayans!

You could buy a ProVari of every color! Then you could have a different juice in each! :D

Mostapha, look what you might make DPL do! You and those Mayans are holding the reins here. 8-o

I just want to know what window to hang out in front of for ten minutes to grab it when it gets thrown in a fit of anger.

I've always been considering it, and I like black & blue……that choice was made when I saw it was available in that color combination.

And the reason I started railing on it was that I was ready to buy one: money in hand, cart at provape setup. It was going to cost close to $300 for it, a pair of 18490s, a pair of 18650s, the extension cap, their decent tenergy charger, and the extended warranty………and I decided to watch one more video, in which someone actually demonstrated the menu system.

Then, I was like ":censored: that". I started on a mission to get legit responses out of people, some of them kind (on reddit or elsewhere where I use different usernames)……most of the ones here have been rather……vehement……to see how people responded.

What's come out of all that is that people tend either to vehemently state there's nothing at all wrong with it (which is BS) or say "it's worth it." I've only seen one person say they got rid of it after owning it (except from financial concerns), and for him it was all about portability……which isn't an issue for me (I already own twists and carry a shoulder bag 90% of the time anyway).

The price difference seems worth it compared to a Legacy/SB + Kick when you consider the fact that I already vape over 10W a lot of the time and that a lot of people seem to think the Kick has systemic reliability issues.

It'll be a few weeks until I hit the magic number in my spreadsheet that will keep me in the black after buying it. But, the only real question in my mind is whether I would actually go through adjusting it every time I change flavors (by swapping VNs) or want a different vape……or if it'll just end up set at ~5V for its entire life and I'd carry it and both of my Twists. I'm also kind of hoping–in the back of my mind–that joyetech releases a Twist 2 with a higher current limit or that Provape releases one with even one extra button.

I think I said this on Reddit, but the only thing really holding me back at this point is that I know I won't go through the menu to turn it on & off……and IDK whether I'd end up burning out coils from the button getting pushed in my pocket/bag.

Now why would it need an extra button? That would make it confusing and difficult to use. Then you would have to actually LOOK at it when you go to press a button instead of just hitting it and then looking at the screen.

(Is embarrassed to admit hers has NEVER been turned off)

I only "turn mine off" to change the battery. Technically, I've never once used that menu option. Sucker's ALWAYS "on".

My one big gripe is that the first option in the menu system after the five clicks isn't the PO (power on) menu. I mean, wouldn't that be more logical when it's been powered off?

My preference for first option would be "CB", since I use that function incessantly. I guess the old (Garden Party) adage applies here, from ProVape's perspective:

Ya can't please everyone, so...

A spreadsheet guy, you. Well, how's about that? Maybe we've got something in common, after all.

Good luck with your ProVari. I hope you enjoy it. And I'll look forward to seeing you at World's End

Because I think it'd offer more direct access to the things you actually want out of the menu.

Leave the fire button like it is, but add another one "above" it (closer to the atty) that doesn't stick out as much. Tap the fire button 5 times to turn it on/off. Tap the other one 3 times to enter a voltage setting mode where one button goes up by .1V the other goes down by .1V. Hold both for a second or two to enter a "menu" and have the fire button exit and the other one switch b/t showing resistance and power level.

If you wanted, you could make it power regulated by 1/3W steps instead (or some other sensible value).

If you wanted to do something like the ZMax and select b/t power and voltage regulation, you could even have a menu more like the one that's on it now with that somewhere in the options using the smaller/higher button for the same navigation that's there now and an exit button (the fire button)……but the point is that you can get more direct access to voltage settings and power on/off by just adding one more button.

The circuitry wouldn't be much more complicated. I (obviously) haven't taken one apart, but if it works the way I thin it does, it wouldn't take much work to use the second input. It might be more expensive (I'm not sure exactly what ICs they're using), but it'd be on the order of cents or dollars……not more. Switching to power regulation would require a change, obviously, but I'm not sure people actually care about that in reality.

Well, if it doesn't power up, then you've just used the CB funtion by default. I keed, I keed :D

You already know how I feel about all the "button" talk, Mostapha (that it downright silly). I have NO DOUBT it could be done better, and maybe YOUR suggestion is the BEST. Point being, it's all of such little consequence (to me - I get that too). As long as the vape & build quality stay the same, they could one, five or FIFTY pink-polka-dot buttons, for all I care.

As long as I know how to use them, I'll be happy. I didn't buy it for the button.

And I'm NOT starting (or continuing) this argument with you. We've been there, done that. I'm actually trying to make "light" of the issue, not exacerbate it. So I do hope you take this in the spirit it was intended*.

* Since I know the lack of "emotional fonts" can cause typed words to be misread.

So, what do you say, 21-Dec? Is it a date? I'll bring the juice, you bring the buttons. ;)

And, see that? A most EXCELLENT point, WNC.

ProVape obviously knows better than me. Therefore, I leave the button-design in their capable hands. Just give me my damn ProVari and tell me what to do.

Oh, I did. And I appreciate (most of) the people who've argued in support of it, including you. I have a love/hate relationship with a lot of things (like Apple computers and Pro Tools) and it always comes down to how well something lets me do what I need/want to do with it. Obviously the Provari does it well enough for a lot of people without too much hassle. I still don't know where it's going to fall for me, but with a 2-week return policy and good 2nd market values………probably worth trying in a few weeks.

I do find it funny that the only things that really appeal to me after all the research, the arguing, the experimenting, etc. are the Provari and the eGo Twist. And the P+10440 for certain social situations, but in those situations, I'd be willing to sacrifice a good vape to look that good. And I guess there are other options (like the damascus steel Flair that's coming out and some of the wood+brass box mods).

A few weeks? You are gonna make me wait a few weeks for you to tell me how much you love it? I have to suffer through a few more weeks of you talking about something you have never tried? PULL THE TRIGGER!

Don, right on man!!!

Lemme know how that Cobra works out for ya:) I was about to get one then saw a deal on a bliSS I couldn't pass up....it should be here tomorrow.

Regarding a good mechanical mod as a backup, I keep a Puresmoker Legacy mini at my disposal cause there are plenty of time where I know for a fact I'm gonna go out and do somethin stupid or crazy and I KNOW that it will survive anything I throw at it (or it being thown at anything;) )

The way this Provari feels, I'm sure it would handle almost as much abuse but nothing wrong with a good back-up. :toast:

Thanks, sure I'll let you know how I feel about the cobra, I should be getting my bliss and cobra at the same time and let you know which one is my fav. I checked House of Hybrids site last night and saw that they "officially" stated that provape is going to be the seller. Keep an eye out.
