Freezer Lock-Box for Nicotine

I've searched everywhere on ECF and found lots and lots of ideas for containers for storing and carrying stuff, but nothing like I'm looking for right now.

I'm looking for a child-proof box that locks to keep nic in the freezer. I've seen some big lock-boxes. But, this needs to be just big enough to store my nic without taking over the whole freezer. Three growing grandsons need lots of freezer space, leaving just a little for me.

I've been buying 36 mg because it doesn't scare me as much and just hiding it in the back of a top cabinet. But, I'm considering buying 100 mg. Can't possibly do that without much better precautions! The box would need to be unbreakable so they can't even break it to get into it.

I'm making my grandsons seem bad. But, that's not it. They probably would never get into it once told not to. But, it's just not absolute enough considering the danger.

Any ideas? Does anyone here with kids keep nic in the freezer?

Someone had suggested a cash box. Somehow, I was thinking a cashbox would be bigger and would take up too much space in the freezer.

But, it's only 4 inches deep. That might actually work. I wonder how hard it would be for kids to get into that lock. I had been thinking more of using something that had a place to use a padlock. But, if I only use 36 mg, it might be safe enough.

Why not just get a small refrigerator, and put a latch, and pad lock on it? I did that in college to keep roommates out of my beer...

I might suggest something more simple.

Doesn't seem like a strongbox is in order - perhaps something like a simple (plastic/non-metal) tool/tackle box with a padlock (many have the holes for them) would do just fine. (Walmart..etc)

4 inches deep would allow you to put a few largeish amber bottles in the box (on their sides, so you'd need to be careful/make sure you seal them up good and leave a "LITTLE" headspace room.

You can get any metal box and put your own hasp and lock on it.

The gun case (or if I could find a small enough lockable ammo box) were the top contenders originally. Very sturdy and very safe.

Since, it turns out that they do make cash boxes small enough, that's a real possibility.

I never would have thought of a night deposit bag. It does look like it would do the job.

When I read the refrigerator idea, I thought that seemed rather extravagant. But, once I looked at them online, the idea started to grow on me. Right now, I don't have my own room. But, once we move in the next couple of months, I should. In that case, the refrigerator would be wonderful to have, period. Nic or no nic!

We'll have to see what the next few weeks bring to see what I can actually afford.

When my daughter moved into her new apartment the refrigerator freezer wasn't big enough. She got a small one, I believe at Home Depot, and uses it as a night table next to her bed. She covered it a a pretty table cloth that goes with her bedspread and drapes.. very pretty actually. So she went back and got a "portable fridge" in a similar size for the other side of the bed. The freezer locks (so does my big one which has saved me a lot of money ensuring its really closed) but I don't know if the fridge has a lock.
