Pretty sure the posi is a little bit higher than the neg if I remember correctly.
It looks like instead of cutting your wires up against the side of the post, you push them upwards? Maybe those are touching the top of the chamber or something? I usually twist mine off to keep from having any wire poking out at all.

I had that once, I think the coil was a little too high, was fine till installed in the chamber... you need to use a tiny coil that sits all the way down in the well and it can't be too long either...
I'll go ahead and admit that I use squonkers 95% of the time. The other 5% I like a quality rta and have been through a couple. I have found the perfect rta in the GEM [emoji1] Arrived yesterday and built it a little while ago. So far, it's working flawlessly. Been lurking and learning about it here.

I usually bend the wire back and forth until it breaks. It breaks perfectly flush at the post. There's also not a lot of room in that chamber and your coil could be touching the top of the chamber. Try lowering the coil a little.
Rite, built a frsh 28g kanthal, 7 wraps, 2mm again, 0.71 ohms.
Twisted my leads off nice and short.
Coil below top of screws and not touching anywhere.
Now to try it in the chamber.

yeah, that's me too, full time squonker, only exception is when I carry one of my wizard evolveds, now with the gem I think that's going to be a much more often occurance for me
yeah paul, on my we2 ti the center contact shorts to the body of the mod until the thing is screwed together and the center screw pushes down on the center post a bit, if it don't push down enough to make an air gap there then it will show as shorted, something to look for

Ha! I love that dems! Squonkhead....going to remember that...Should be a club named that. LOL I like to grab my regulated on occasion and vape way. It helps to have a fabulous RTA atop and the GEM fits the bill. Wicks perfectly without being too finicky like some can be [emoji2]

BTW, wicking material is Fiber Freaks. No problem at 20w.
I have issues guys and need some help.
I place my coil upside-down. It sits in the cup.
His is upside down too it looks like, just raised up outta the cup.
Mine is down in the cup too Paul, but I can't see that being the actual reason for the issues.

Had to pack up as got a busy day tomorrow.
I will try again tomorrow night and experiment moving the 510 pin out a tad.
Still thinking my posi pin is sitting high and may be touching the top of the chamber.
