I made the jump because @ratizz is in, or near, Europe, a hop-skip-jump from a prime vendor
Yep, that's the vendor.
And I really AM in Europe

How expensive is NiFe is it really that much where you'd have to sell a couple $10 spools of wire
I'm following he link hopefully my heart can take it
Thanks. I assume steam engine has the tcr for it. I'll have to try and get some in for when my boxer is repaired and back at home.No. I just said it because why not sell what I don't need.
At Zivipf 10m of NiFe48 0.32mm (28g) cost 5.99 € + shipping.

Nope, you can also use the SX with its updated S/W. And, I am reasonably sure the VTC has a way of inputting a TCR value. The only question would be how it's parsed. Then again, I probably wouldn't be able to use NiFe48 on the VTC. You can't set the parameters.
You'd need Dicodes or DNA200. Probably...

And, you can always, with any wire do a temp offset. For example, I keep the temp on the DNA40 much lower coz it does not provide a TCR...
It's very inconsistent. I sent an email that was part of a conversation to mark bugs with no reply regarding his recommendations on how far it should be in or out. If there was a way to make it more solid. I own two GEMS and this is practically a deal killer. Fortunately the incidence of it ja thing when it's on a device and set is rare. But that happens to. And that's even worse than mucking about trying to get it right initially.
Every center pin design like this I've ever tried has this problem. The two fun gt2 has it easy to fix. You just unscrew the pin and when you attach it the pin screws itself in the the perfect place and makes a solid connection. If anything a fix for the gem would rely on getting a different center pin that is a bit more relaxed in how tight and such it is.
Dna200 with such a massive sample rate is probably the worst decide to try and use with the gem. Sticking to older temp control devices or those with different method of sampling seems to be a big improvement. Upside is less expensive mods. Downside is potentially less accurate temperature control which already has questionable accuracy
For me. The flavor of these tanks and the fact they do work 90+ percent once you get the screw set for the proper reading makes it matter less but a tank that didn't taste his good I wouldn't put up with it especially at the price of the tank
@ratizz You use the "Alloy 52" settings.
NiFe48 and NiFe52 are the same thing! Dont worry! But it's not the resistance Zivipf has on their site.
Edit: sorry, my bad, I didn't adjust the diameter. Yep, it's basically the same.

Hi Duane,I am having totally inconsistent vaping with the GEM also. In fact it is the absolute worst atomizer I have ever experienced with respect to consistency of resistance. I may have an outlier but although all of the machining is impeccable EXCEPT the one thing that MUST be correct (the threads between the 510 contact pin and the positive connection on the deck) my GEM has terrible machining in this critical area. I have spent hours trying to get even one puff that's decent, torn the device down multiple times and recoiled and it's apparent that this particular device is usless with the poorly machined 510 connector pin and the deck threads. I'm definitely done even trying and the device is relegated to return or the trash.
Hi Duane,
my experince is similar although not quite as bad. It is a pain though and I have been close to throwing it across the room on a couple of occasions. It is amazing that, so often, little thought is given to the design of the thing that connects the atty to the power source! A minimum requirement one would have thought but the GEM is not the only example - far from it! Sucks though..
@druckle Glad to see you return on this issue coz I had more to recommend.
Until the DNA 200 I was unaware of any 510 issue with the GEM. K4 yes, but not the GEM.
What I did to completely resolve the 510 issue was to observe the performance in eScribe, slightly adjusting the 510 until I got the desired/expected performance, namely, the temperature rises, hits the set temp, and hovers at the set temp for a full right (8) seconds.
I have not needed to make any adjustments since that fix.
And of course we need a better connection standard. Did you happen to watch the report of the FDV v. Varitube squabble on PoH last night?
All packages posted today. Three haven't replied my PMs, shall wait for a week and then those would be up for grabs.
Send me a PM with your address pls.I would be interested Q if one doesn't get claimed [emoji4]
