This weekend my gf hit my e-cig out of my hand and the connector cracked along one side.
It still works but it's just a matter of time before it breaks off, like SmaBob's did in post #410

Is there a way to get a replacement 510 connector or what is the correct 510 connector for the Genisis?
And how does one remove the connector, drill it out?

Thank you.
Drilling it out? Hmm...not sure on that one!

**EDIT POST**

Where are you located. If in the USA PM me for an address and send me the broken connector and I will send you a replacement part. Outside of the USA you should contact Uwe and he will send you the replacement.

Per the build instructions is the 510 connector really held in place with hot glue?

Some people use that, or one of the 'weld' style pastes. I think tinning the outside with solder and presure fitting it with a vice is probably more efficient. How you choose to do it may depend on how much play there is between the fitting and the mounting hole.

I agree but you wont get an answer if there isnt any news

Just think it is hard for us folks to understand why it takes soooo long to do a pressure mold...almost 5 months? you would think in that amount of time you could manufacture a pressure molding machine....but heck what do I know...just looking for an estimate...... 2 months? 6 months? another year? no mold = no news....ok...... what is the estimated time to receive the mold and we can start from there. :) To our house we'll ask for another ETA later on.

Due to quality and weigth reasons we decided to make a pressure mould. That needs time. When the mould is ready I can give an estimate.

Honestly, when he posted that, I did some research into turn around time for a pressure mold. What I got was 1-3 months depending on the complexity. I'm just not sure we're ever going to see this thing. The money is gone as far as I'm concerned...if the mod shows up, great...but I'm not holding my breath.

At this point in time disappointment sums up this whole operation and how it has been handled...don't want to start a grip session but feel like those who have ordered the Kronos have been held hostage by amateurish and irresponsible behavior.
To me, no matter how perfect the design of the Kronos is supposed to be it has all been negatively overshadowed by a distant organizer that seems to be aloft to a community he portends to serve. nuff said.

The injection mold is finished and the first Abspritzung with me. We then tested, and it must still be changes made to the tool. That should not last longer too long. We then get another Abspritzung for approval. Then it is the production. The other material to be here long.

@Jed,
if you are in a rush you should buy in a shop from stock and not participate in a project.
A project is totally different from a shop. At the beginning there is an idea. Than we start to design and to build. In that process a lot of things can go wrong or cause delays.

The first milled boxes were from a poor quality and we decided to make a pressure mould. That is an expensive task and we are very carefull with that. The second injections are now on the way to me and we test again. when all is clear we go into production with the boxes.

The other parts are here since a long time.

In a project the active member work in their free time to give passive member the chance to get an item which they otherwise would never get or never get for that price. When I read you comment I don't wonder why nobody will participate, including me, as an active member in a project again.

It is easy to argue from a TV chair with legs up.

Uwe
