There was an update from Tai Pan on ERF last week - There's been a problem with the circuit boards -

"Unfortunately, Murphy has struck again .
For us the supplier had sent samples of the layout . He then delivered processors with a slightly larger housing and this does not fit. However, these processors are already programmed and therefore, we must make the new boards. Very annoying.

The delivery date for the boards has been announced for the end of June. The remaining parts are pre-assembled and just waiting for the boards."

We are waiting for the PCB's.

As you can read in the post above we had a meeting with Murphy. I can't tell you how I hate that guy. He is coming to our projects since a long time.:) But now Murphy is on holidays and he shall take his time. We don't need another visit.

The status is now:
We have changed the layout and the PCB's are in production. Than they will be assembled with the SMD parts. Delivery approx. end of June. Than we have to add the analog components like connector, LEDs, switch and USB port and start the final assembly. The boxes are already pre assembled.

That means that we will deliver during July and August. I will inform when the PCB's are back.

So, What do you guys think....

I have one with an RCA connection meant for the box, and one with 510 connection that i planned to use with other mods (though I dont use it anymore). I sent the email to Uwe when they were requesting connection choices for our boxes, to go ahead and change mine to 510. Im thinking I might need to leave the Kronos connection RCA, otherwise I will have a useless atty laying around.

What would you guys and gals do in that situation?

I would get both with 510 connections and order an extra 510 connection for the LV found here:

Well, I only have one box coming...I meant I had one LV with each connection. But I haven't checked the site in forever...and never though about buying a new base for my LV....

Thanks for that!

Hey Riddle, rca has an advantage that you don't unscrew the atty to connect/disconnect. Being as it is a recessed atty, you won't end up with part of the LV left inside the box.

That's true asdaq...part of the reason I was excited about this in the beginning, the other that you can line it up in any position...not that you need to with a bottom fed center wick design.

But with the mods the way they are today...RCA has disappeared as fast as it came on to the scene. Plus, I would be able to use other newer atties with it having the 510. So that's what I've went with.

Uwe said the connection is easy to replace, so I could always swap it back to RCA if I wanted.

That is correct.
For the board project we used for Cinch atomizer a pitch of 0,5 and changed for the 510 ones to 0,75. That means that the total new constructed bottoms parts from Electra Pipes fit the board 510 but not the Cinch atomizer.

For the Kronos we use a holder for the connector which can be fitted with Cinch, 510, 801, 901. The connectors can easily be changed. Two solder points at the connector and a nut to loose it. Thats all.
As you can see on the image there are solder tags for both poles to make things easy.
