Can you guys tell me if this Multimeter would "do"? It's out of the question for me to spend £25+ on one:

Multifunction Digital Multimeter Featuring AC: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

Now that you've mentioned a Multimeter, it's obvious I can't live without one

    Yes, it will work.
Yes, it's pure garbage. It also doesn't do auto-ranging, which is annoying for newbies (meaning autoranging = good, non autoranging = annoying).
This is the cheapest meter I'd buy myself, on the amazon UK site:
Draper Autoranging Digital Multimeter: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools

Edit - oops, didn't see you'd boguht it already and the 25UKP comment.

yes, it'll work, just set the range to Ohms properly, and be 'gentle' with that meter; I wouldn't expect it to last long during real use, and it will not survive being abused.

Come on! Its just for occasional measuring!! Even my £20 one is good enough for testing most things!! Perhaps if one were using it every day in the home or simple measurements for work it may be worth spending more than £5 :) Heck its time to look at brands like Fluke and the like for serious use and they are £150+!!!

With manual ranging just twist the knob until you get the reading you were expecting :) It harder with ohms tho, that is quite hard but for volts just set it for 20 DC for battery testing!

    Yes, yes...not disagreeing, entirely.

Realize that I *use* my tools. At least somewhat regularly. My shop is full of them, from bodywork, welder, carpentry, plumbing, my tire changer, dwell-meter, brake tools, oscilloscope, soldering irons, tile cutters, sawzall, spring compressors, and stuff you've probably never heard of.

Nothing is worse than depending on a tool to *work* when you want it to, but finding out it's a huge steaming POS, and is now busted.

Would you rather GG works something, when it feels like it, or 'always'?

That's how I feel about tools. Want to buy something thin plastic, 'works great' for 1 month, during which time you use it to test a dozen attys, then never again? K, buy it. I'd prefer at least a reasonable chance of believing in it's accuracy and durability. I do not *own* the 28UKP one, but I have owned ones like the $5 POS. I would never buy something that cheap again.

6 months later, when you or someone else decides they need a DVM, and it's dead, or you drop it a few inches with the probes attached, a contact breaks off inside, and it's dead.

I do understand on the $. I use a harbor freight chopbox mitre saw (~$140 or so, versus $600 for DeWalt etc equivalent) I built most of a house with. But note, I didn't buy the $10 chop-box, either, I picked a compromise on 'is worth the money spent and won't let me down immediately for the use I need it for.'

K...in the end, buy what you want :)

Be careful, Cat! I ruined my beautiful nails that had taken me 3 years to cultivate  Them bubble-packs are seriously passive-aggressive :-x

I really appreciate the benefit of your experience in lots of things - but honestly, this e-cig business is financially crucifying me (I never used to buy much of my own baccy but am independent, e-cig-wise). However, I do think that being able to ascertain whether batteries are working OK or not could save me money in the end - not knowing which component is causing a problem can be expensive :(

But..but she only wants it for testing e-cigs and can't afford much!! I was going to buy the one you suggested from Amazon but I realised after giving one a try the manual ranging wasn't so hard after all :) Plus I was super curious what the voltage of my batteries were so went and bought one from Wicks I bet the auto ranging was better but they didn't have any :( The large LCD screen was the winner and the tough holster!!

I have got a GG problem. My GG will not vape any of my 901's.
I have tried many of them. I put 901 atomizer on my magnum and it works great. I have been using the 801 adapter for over a week now and this morning, I decide to vape my 901. It will not work. None of my 901 atomizers will work with GG. So I thought try the 510's and not one of them will fire up with GG.

Got a different 801 atomizer and it works great. This is confusing.
I had a problem will my button getting accidentally push the other day.

Please help Sakis. I like my 510's atomizers and 901's.
GG vapes great with the 801. Lots of vaper and will not work with the 901 or 510 atomizers?????

    Bristow, Ok.
Another post so that no one is confused. My 901 atomizers have worked with the GG until now. I have had the GG for a long while. My 510 tomizers also worked perfect with the GG until today. It maybe the top cup problem. I will try cleaning it and see.

Last week I was down to 1 leaking atomizer and I had to clean mine with alcohol. I used a little spray bottle.

Stormy, I cleaned it with alcohol and still none of the 901 atomizers will work. I know theses are working atomizers. I tried 901 atomizer on GG and took the same atomizer and put it on magnum and it works. Theses are the totally wicked 901 atomizers. This same atomizer used to work on my GG.

Something is wrong and I am not sure.. I thought maybe the new Sedensa may have done something. The Sedensa is a 801 atomizer. So I got another 801 atomizer and it works on GG. This is a weird problem.

It sure is weird. I feel so bad for you. When I had my little problem I just sprayed the end cap down with alcohol and wiped it out and it fired back up. I would cry if my GG quit working.

I would cry too, my GG is working really well today, the TotallyWicked atomisers are working at 6 volts, I have my new charger :) Be sure to make sure the end cap where the battery touches at the atomiser end is clean and that the batterys are clean too!

Rejoice your problem is easy. The center pole of the battery connector is not touching the center pole of 901 atty

Open the atty's cap and see if the gold nail is playing freely. If not and it seems stuck, push it with your finger. Then try to vape again.
Checked this and still will not work. The atomizer cap is free moving. I put the 801 back on GG and it vapes. Still no 901's will vape.

I will tell you a little trick to see if the center pole of the battery connector touches the center pole of the atty.

    Take off the atty's cap.
    Hold it in horizontal position
push the gold nail to go in place.
While screwing the atty, is the gold nail moving? If not, then the center pole of atty does not make a connection to this nail (witch is the center pole of battery connector).
