It was this model comparison that helped push me from the fence to finally order my Grant. No I don't really NEED it but I sure do WANT one. This will make my third GG and my second AFS. I figured I needed another one to put the second AFS atop. The Slim really needs no AFS using the cartomizer.

The old slim (pictured at the beginning of this thread) - no.
The new smaller slim with the end button - all you have to do is unscrew it a little and it doesn't make contact - therefore, it's locked out.

I will do more comparison photos at some point.

Oh i have a question...the button switch from the Original Grant to the New Button for the Grant...Was anything needed other then just screwing in the new button or was a larger hole and other physical changes needed to make the change?

It required a larger (threaded) hole and a completely differently designed end-cap.

Ok...i just got my hands on an older model Grant and was trying to figure out if i could do the upgrade myself...but if its a threaded hole i can't just order an end cap and button from Imeo and drill out the hole myself

Nope, sorry. You would need to send the unit back for the threading and to ensure a proper fit on a new end-cap and I am not even sure if Imeo is offering this option at this time.

There are people out there who LOVE the older model Grant and would give their eye-teeth for an original one - so let me know if you ever think of buying a newer model and you want to sell the old one.

I've got an original and a newer one and I like them both equally.

Yes, the locking button is fantastic and I certainly wouldn't want to be without it on my trans - but I also still love the original button on the Grant too.

Yes, I have both models of the Grant also,
the original booton - and new locking booton --
and 2 GG transformers --

I wouldn't give any one of them up------

Just trying to keep up with the collector herself. So I took a shot today of all my GGs. Notice the newest addition to the collection. I received the last ever trans from the unfortunate closing of the Italian supplier. Lisa bough up the remaining stock from them. I got very luck to get this baby. I really like the look and feel of the Trans and it is soooo light weight compared to all my others. Take a look and tell me which is your favorite. It would be nice if Imeo could offer all the models but there are only so many he can make at once. I think the TS is the best one in the bunch but they all have their fine points. But for now my favorite has to be the latest addition as always. New toys are just that new... haha...

Let us play a little game here. What we have here is a set ready vor Vapn, so let me try to guess the battery configuration you got in each one of them:

-GG Slim: 10440 (easy)
-GG Grant: 2* CR2 3V
-GG Trans: 2* CR2 3,6V
-GGTS prototype: 14500
-GGStorm: dc adapter set at 8+V (although at this exact size, it fits 2 CR2 batteries)

Now I just made a guess. Just don't give the answer before others could take a shot. This might become a nice game.
