Edo, I ensure you that the liquid has better taste at 6 volts. 6v devices dont burn the liquid or the taste. It happens just the opposite. The taste is icreased to a maximum degree.

The more the volts, the more the taste. (exept throat kick and smoke that are increased). I am totally sure that people with a 5v device have not taste an 6v device. If they have taste both and they are honest they will admit what I say.

Ask cosisan to see his opinion. He is a veeeeeery serious man and he will tell you the whole truth.

To see what is happening on this forum, you will see people saying that 3,7v tastes better than 6 volts. What a lie. To my opinion, 3,7 volts have no taste at all if you smoke them side by side.

My usb on my computer puts out 4.88v my apc battery pack puts out 5.26v on the computer it is great and does not burn to hot on the apc at 5.26 it gets the burnt taste pretty fast,so that small difference in voltage does change things a bit. btw I am using one of the new passthroughs from ps alot nicer than the old ones.I think the option to lower your voltage is an awesome idea though, imeo is the man that will figure it out :) im sure of it

I will do it viny because I said I will. But you must know how to treat a 6v device. Some people treat to them like 3,7. It does not wiork that way viny and of course you know it.

In a 3,7 device you put 1 drop to the atty and fill the cart. ok
In a 6 device you put 3 drops to atty and fill the cart. Thats because the power of this device is x 3. So when you buy your GG, do as I say and if you go back to lower volts come here in Greece and put an iron to my nose!!!

lol @ Imeo Iron to your nose.could never do that brother :) I have not been using carts just dripping,i put 3 drops on the atty and get about 10 good hits at 3.7but yes the 5 or 6 volts is a much better hit and taste.

Its a Greek expression, I dont know how it came from. Now I am thinking of it, its totally stupid:lol::lol:

USB doesn't go over 500mA from the PC, the APC goes to > 1A.

And I think there is the problem. For you, Imeo, and others, 6v may be nirvana. We all have different taste buds. For others, for whatever reason, 5v may be more palatable to them. maybe it's amount of throat hit, somehow detracting or 'tricking' their taste buds, or overwhelming the flavor or tasting burnt, while you you, taste at 6v > 5v...but also attys being used *will* make a difference as well, which is often left out of the equation.

How does someone know an 801 atty at 6v doesn't taste better than a 510 atty at 5v? Even worse, when the 5v is on a PC USB at 500mA, which is too low for e-cigs and the attys, so is a 'false indicator.'

I remain available for a guinea pig in the event you manage a resistance disk before the xformers ship out..to gladly video both, or just give feedback on.

But, I just don't believe it's as clear cut as '6v is better.'

Got to agree...When Imeo makes a statement...he's ALWAYS right! I was dripping with my GGGrant (only have had it for a week) but been a GG fan for the last few months. Using carts with the 510 set-up for the first time today...WICKS LIKE A CHARM! taste - HUGE! T.H. Beautiful! Vapor - HUGE! vape the fruity flavors, and throw away your houshold airfresheners!!! (lol) Forget it...Again I must say "6V GG all the way"! Enough of this 5V P.S. (hehe) it's B.S. : )

And to top it all off, the GG folks help and support one another like nothing else!!...From inventor, distributor, user...Just can't stop raving, and I HATE when people rave...BUT like Imeo says...It's not raving...it's the truth! To paraphrase his words "I only say something when I am 100% correct!" - Stop wasting your $$$'s... GG and ...THE END or The BEGINNING? Autofeeder for the 510 and 801, and we'll have to send Imeo charitable gifts...nothing left for him to invent : )

All i am doing is checking the voltage im getting with a multi tester I dont know all the tech stuff, but the usb port sure seems like it works great to me.how can you say it is to low for an ecig when it works so good??

    Bristow, Ok.
I remember someone here (can't remember who, sorry) saying that it only runs at 6 volts for the first little bit of a freshly charged battery and then the voltage drops down. So wouldn't it be running at 5 or so volts for the most part anyway?
Whatever it runs at when you put in your 2 little green batteries is just perfect for me. I am glad I am a woman. Men worry so much about volts and OHMS and stuff. I don't think most women think too much about that stuff. We just know what we like.

Gotta get back to doing some work soon, but quickly...

USB2 spec defines max current per spec as 5 load units on the USB bus. Each of them is at 100mA, or .1 amp. You *can* use 'multiple load units' on a single USB device, but total = 500mA, or .5A.

Using a 5v device... Voltage is:
    V
    I | R

    That's V = I * R
Get two, can solve for the others.
atty resistance of the atty is ~3Ohms (it varies somewhat model to model and sometimes atty to atty, but +/- .5 Ohms or so). Voltage is fixed, so is resistance for this example, although there are variances based on power source, as well as some minor resistance changes to the atty as it heats and cools. And of course, trace resistance is also introduced by connections, but assuming a properly operating device, it's relatively minimal, even moreso with a non-LED or 'second load' device.

Current is determined thus, as voltage / resistance, or 5vDC/3Ohms = ~1.67A is what that circuit will take 'naturally.' USB is only providing 1/3rd of that. your USB adapter is providing 1A - 2A. A good battery can go over 5A of current discharge. See the issue here? :)

No one's right all of the time, just some are less or more often incorrect than others. :D

Besides, look at Imeo's font choices :D (ducking/kidding!)

Entirely true, and nothing wrong with that.

But...if you had a USB passthrough at 5v AND a GG at 5v...you'd 'know which you like more.' :D
