And I think there is the problem. For you, Imeo, and others, 6v may be nirvana. We all have different taste buds. For others, for whatever reason, 5v may be more palatable to them. maybe it's amount of throat hit, somehow detracting or 'tricking' their taste buds, or overwhelming the flavor or tasting burnt, while you you, taste at 6v > 5v...but also attys being used *will* make a difference as well, which is often left out of the equation.

How does someone know an 801 atty at 6v doesn't taste better than a 510 atty at 5v? Even worse, when the 5v is on a PC USB at 500mA, which is too low for e-cigs and the attys, so is a 'false indicator.'

I remain available for a guinea pig in the event you manage a resistance disk before the xformers ship out..to gladly video both, or just give feedback on.

But, I just don't believe it's as clear cut as '6v is better.'

All 3,7 attys have almost the same behavior at 6 volts. So the liquid has. The conclution is that the taste is diferent from atty to atty but the result is the same. bigger hit, bigger smoke, bigger taste. I agree that the taste is diferent from atty to atty but the stronger taste is a fact.

I think you agree here. So if some people dont like stronger taste, that does not mean that the teste isnt stronger. Do you agree?

Whatever it runs at when you put in your 2 little green batteries is just perfect for me. I am glad I am a woman. Men worry so much about volts and OHMS and stuff. I don't think most women think too much about that stuff. We just know what we like.

Exactly, stormy! It can be discussed and debated to the death but the only thing that remains true and constant is that you can't please all the people all the time. But it's abundantly clear Imeo pleases plenty with his design. It's fulfilling my needs - I couldn't care less what voltage it's running at.

Yes, but 3.7 Ohms resistance at 6v = 1.62Amps, while 3.7 Ohms resistance @ 3.7 (median 'normal e-cig') = 1A, significant difference, and that's without the (slight) varying resistance from heat (and possibly heat/cool/douse (liquid) effects. Just like a fuse or circuit breaker, or wiring used for a PT or other (house sockets, anyone), there is an effective amperage rating, or 'sweet spot' in there. Higher amps through same atty will also dissipate more watts, making the coil a 'hotter hot.' Now you have liquid in there as well to consider.

But yes, I do believe it's possible that to a point, flavor may simply increase with voltage (or current, really is what's doing it) until a sort of liquid breakdown point is reached (then burning). I also think it's possible that while flavor may still be increasing for some, the other effects (more vapor, higher throat hit for same liquid) may also impact the overall experience, or even 'mask' the flavor increase.

I don't think we are far off from agreement, just slightly different perspectives/not 100%.. ?

Did I ever once say I would not? Doesn't make it any less interesting in the meanwhile, and then I'll just have to find a way of making GG 5v myself, of 'mean Imeo won't help me out there' And will totally eat my *opinions* (even if backed somewhat by math etc, much is really opinion) and say I'm entirely wrong, and that 6v gives me wood, while 5v only a stubby... Or, even if not, really..I still believe for some, 6v may be preferable for *them*.

But, I also believe few except a handful of modders have tried it, using the same atty, same power throughput (not usb@5v@500mA vs 6v~1.5A), different volts, same device. So thus, *I* want to know.

Ahh, and there is the catch. And really, this isn't meant to become a fight of any sort here, just that - how many have had the exact same device, same atty, same 1.5A+ power source, just different voltages?

Very few. There is always possibility for improvement, and to find out what was not known before, even if what is today works well.

Otherwise, why would Imeo ever make changes?

That would really rock, and while it may not 'answer all,' it would at least be another data point, on the same device, same attys, and with 3 diff atty models (510, 801, 901). Besides, if I like 6v better, I'll say it on video and even say, 'Damnit, Imeo was *right*' for the world to see..

Damnit, the non-use of smileys is SO unfair sometimes on forums. never can be *quite* sure of the others reactions.

I can't go to bed, have to work through 3am tonight, then 'the project is released' as long as nothing fails. Then, make sure tomorrow no thousands of screaming people. Then...I GET A WEEKEND! fingers crossed, not a single bit of work...gonna go look at hardwood floors and probably redo my office in Australian Cypress as a reward. Hopefully few splinters involved
