I guess Scott would be reviewing maybe one item every couple of months by some peoples standards then. What about simple 510 cig-a-likes? They are all copies of each other then aren't they? Man.
Clones are one thing. Knock offs are basically a clone of something claiming to be something it is not. A copy.....you would have to describe what you mean by that. If a design, system, concept is proven to work, and someone takes that design, system, concept, improves or modifies it, then it is not a copy/clone/knock off is it?
I've said it before on another thread, if something is produced, manufactured and sold to the consumer that has not been patented, then there is no way of preventing it being "copied", "modified" or incorporated into others designs. I've not come across an outright "copy" or "clone" of GG products, because what has been "cloned" i.e. this ody thing, is not an exact replica. It is of a lesser quality. I'm not supporting it by the way.
Other mods which use concepts that the GGTS uses, are not copies, clones or knock offs. They have taken a design or feature and incorporated it into their own device. It doesn't have a knock on effect on sales of GGTS or GG products as there is a very high demand for them. It does however offer us, the consumer, choice and variety which imo, is a good thing.
It is your choice if you buy the products. I have tried a GGTS and didn't get on with it. I think it is a very well made, solid device, but it wasn't for me. It doesn't stop me trying other similar products though because they have features of a GGTS. In fact, I'm very interested in the 69 mod for example. It looks slim, light and you can have the button at the top or bottom. It has similarities to the GGTS, but it isn't a copy/clone or knock off.
