Well this is not going to be a good day.............I can hear the "CRACK" from out there even with the windows shut........so they are taking down some old growth trees around here somewhere...I suppose there might be a reason....but it's raining now and why do they have to ruin a nice cool day....
oh geez........now the chipper too...

I am not meaning to complain about this but man it sounds like WW3 out there............chainsaws, chippers and lots of other noises.........it's not even on my street that I can see.............after the rain stops I will have to take photos and see where the victim was.....poor thing..........

Sorry, Blue. Sometimes, however, tree trimming can be a good thing (but not removing the entire tree).

In my case, the woodchipper is set up right in front of my driveway. The cat is in hiding from all the noise. Now I'll have to see how I can get my car out to go run some errands.

Thanks guys...I appreciate the comfort.............I realized when I moved here that some of them would have to go at some point.....there are very tall trees and with some of the winds we get and the dry summer they are not as healthy as they should be......but why start so early in the morning.......I closed one window at 0830.........got up 1/2 hour later because it was still going on.....
I will get off of the topic now....but I do appreciate the sympathies/empathies..........

A little later than usual, but had to spend some time in the garden picking the ripe tomatoes.
Problem is the step part of stepson...
I feel as if I can hear your tone of voice when you said this. Correct me if I am wrong, but I detect a note of sarcasm, directed at the wife as much as the son, as if you are ticked that she defends him when you believe he is wrong. (I agree with what @Uncle said, and while I don't do behavior modification as a career, I did have to take several psychology classes to become an effective people manager, so...) Here's something that might work if my above surmise is valid: Let her know that his (her son's) draining of your budget is going to cut into her ability to get what she wants out of your paycheck. For every dollar her son wastes/uses up, she will be cut in her spending ability by that amount. He is old enough that he should be out on his own, supporting himself entirely by himself, not freeloading off of you. And even though she loves her son, if she loves you, she also would not be allowing him to do what he is doing. Did he grow up believing in the entitlement society? Does he think you owe him something? Let both him and her know that this is unsatisfactory and will not be tolerated. Hope I have not offended you in any way.

Many deep thoughts and conversations overnight. Don't ya just love this thread, anything and everything can be gotten into here. A true place to have fun or share our troubles and thoughts.

On a better note Wifey is being released from the hospital so it looks like I'm going to be late for work.

:tumble:
so glad to hear she was being released!!!

Can't spend the day on the computer today. Reasonably cool outside, so have to get back on that firewood task. Hogs to all and catch ya later.

Once more, three photos blended into one (about 180 degrees wide angle this way). One nasty supercell thunderstorm. (see the tiny tree silhouettes on the horizon?)

Funny how things work out. I ended up with double vapemail today! I got the package I missed yesterday, but also got a package I didn't expect until Sat. or Mon. I figure it was a good trade off! :)

Yay for early vape mail!

The tree trimmers moved their truck just before I left, so I got out of the driveway okay. Unfortunately, it looks like they dragged some branches across the corner of the succulent garden I've been trying to grow out front. I'll have to see what damage I can repair after I get back from my daughter's soccer practice.

Sorry to hear about your succulent garden, fortunately most are pretty hardy and can take a reasonable amount of abuse. My mom used to have a fairly large and diverse succulent garden, so many different size, shapes and colors, very cool.

Just popped back to take a bit of a rest. Seem to have sprained my right ankle. Things like that tend to happen when my higher self is trying to tell me to slow down and I'm not paying sufficient attention to the request. Sigh...

When the wind blows in South Dakota, get out of the way of anything not anchored very deeply. Snapped the roots right off of that one.

2. Think it's going to be a crazy day here...boss usually doesn't come in on Thursdays until after her lunch meeting, but she just texted that she'll be in in a little while...that doesn't bode well for a good day.
...nice of her to give you a "heads-up" that she was coming in:rolleyes:
What was the scene like after her "heads up" call?? "...Quick...hide the pizza boxes and somebody take the dog home!!!"

Not feeling too "talkie" these days. I'm refusing to get involved in the Clouper giveaway thread. I don't have time to "increase my chances of winning" by babbling along (mostly incoherently). So, I'm gonna lay low.
 ..you maka me laff! Babbling incoherently is one of those selective listening skills I think...;) ...to one person it's incoherent babbling..to another, it sounds just fine. I have my fun over there.........then I leave

I was just about to say...the reverse psychology of the matter would be to mosey on out there with a sack lunch...plop yourself down in a comfy spot and just enjoy the show :D They are gonna do what dey gonna do anyways

@CountBoredom love the pic...reposting for the sheer joy of it...

Unfortunately, it was the small ones that got trampled. Well, we'll see, I guess.

Seem to have sprained my right ankle.
Ice--plenty of ice--for the first 24 hours.

Speaking of ankles, I'm off to endanger my own at my daughter's soccer practice...
