Good Mornin' / G'Night Tree Fam!

@tiggerrts - Were you able to sleep?

I appreciate all the advice.

Problem is the step part of stepson...

Onwards and upwards, I guess.
I realize you were just ranting and probably don't even need or want advice. At his age, "step" doesn't matter. It's about able bodied adults sharing a home and responsibilities. It's about cooperation and respect for each other.

I really like the way Uncle put it. @Uncle "Another 3 day dialog, so all I will say right now - There seems to be an absolute NEED for both of "You" to re-establish the Boundaries and reset expectations, especially that both of you have"

Many deep thoughts and conversations overnight. Don't ya just love this thread, anything and everything can be gotten into here. A true place to have fun or share our troubles and thoughts.

On a better note Wifey is being released from the hospital so it looks like I'm going to be late for work.

PIF to @Slowone2

Good morning, everyone.

My FRAD was placed from home into a Memory Care center initially...he had lost some of his cognitive after some major surgery, so he was having difficulty communicating on top of it all. It takes months sometimes for older folks to bounce back after long surgeries..and his was several hours...but he recently got his speech faculties back and made it quite clear he didn't wanna hang around with memory loss folks worse off then him. I can see that...He wanted to be around folks that still had "some fire" in 'em...And I get that...Even if I couldn't communicate well, I'd still like to be able to hang out where all the "FUN" is....where I could feel alive. He's much happier in his new place...tho I got a feel for the "lock down" when I couldn't get out the exit without a nurse buzzing me.
That is part of the problem: Memory Centers are for dementia and Alzheimer's--people who have cognitive impairment with some similarities (memory loss, aphasia, etc.) don't do well in such settings, but they could benefit from certain therapies. And when we first arrived at the facility, my FRAD turned to me and said, "Everyone here is old!" (The man is 85...)

Good morning. Haven't been around to the tree lately. Been on the crazy train for the last few days and I think I'm ready to get off for a while. It got boring fast.

JPF, I'm glad wifey is coming home today. I didn't post, but I have been praying for her.

Ok, it's too early, I need more coffee.

2. Jpf, glad wifey is getting out of the hospital!

Think it's going to be a crazy day here...boss usually doesn't come in on Thursdays until after her lunch meeting, but she just texted that she'll be in in a little while...that doesn't bode well for a good day.

Mornin' Tree Fam
Well after my nice 3hr nap yesterday, I STILL slept in an hour past my usual get-up time....Musta been tuckered out.
I should put one of those breathylyzer-type locks on my computer keyboard when it gets to be evening...not for alcohol use, but because...being a mornin person I start to go off the rails later in the day...Not mad..just emotional. It's been 33 years for me too since Dad left us so abruptly. His last thot may have been, "Damn, I should have made a WILL!! Damn..I shoulda gotten more Life Insurance! He was a 3 pack a day smoker and had a Cancer Rider ..Humor of the Universe..It's not what he died of
...So hope all you out there that have anything of value or share it with Sig Others have a WILL! Dad's stuff was stuck in probate for 6 months and Mom couldn't touch it till all us kids signed our portions BACK TO HER...Without a will, the estate is divided equally among eligible beneficiaries. So I can't stress that enough...get a Will...it woulda been cheaper than what Mom had to go thru.
Still working thru some things..so you all know where the ignore button is, if ya don't wanna hear it....just sayin..

#1 I appreciate all the advice. Problem is the step part of stepson...

I get that ..Hell hath no fury like a Momma Cat with her claws out and sharpened...Still..Good advice from Uncle...which you may find extends outward to include other members in the family..as these things are often "family affairs" and benefit from being solved "as a family" ..:2c:...."we" got automotive, we got office skills, we got carpentry, we got EMT and firefighting...and others...but "we" ain't got no degrees in human behavior/modification:rolleyes:

[HASHTAG]#2On[/HASHTAG] a better note Wifey is being released from the hospital so it looks like I'm going to be late for work.
YAY! for you and Wifey.
I hope they have given her what she needs and that it sticks..and that it will bring her more comfort and relief. IN so doing, I know it will for you too;):nun::nun:
Too bad being in the hospital can't be more like a Day Spa Resort experience...The British know how to do "Sabbaticals" ...Like Miss Marple...go off to some Heavenly Relaxing Place and be waited on hand and foot, while you sit out in the lawn chair, sipping (tea...add your own here;)) ...and taking in the gorgeous view...no stress...no worries..just relaxin and chillin in Sluglandia...But no..our current hospitals are not like that...it's stressful...might even be in a room with a roommate...more stressful depending on how much of a pain in the keester they are...wakin ya up all thru the night to make sure you're alive...and those mosquitos!!:-x ...and beeping machines! After listening to my Mom's for 40 m...and after having notified the nurse twice...I shut the alarm off myself...(but I have had training and knew what I was doing...) ...the beeping was upsetting Mom. My rant on hospitals, and I've worked the other end of it as well, so I get the understaffing element. Yep..I make a bad patient

:lol:...I had to laugh...that's EXACTLY what my FRAD said!! "I don't wanna be here with these OLD people with Parkinson's"...he has Parkinson's ..and he's in his mid-70's.
I think when I'm able I NEED to spend some time volunteering over at our Memory "Bee Hive" Center...There were so many lonely folks I ran into when I last visited FRAD...some had no Family...some wanted me to share my Tacos with them :( ...some just hung around with us to listen in and have some contact with the outside world. I hope somebody still cares about me when I'm in a place like that...My body may be a wreck if I live to get that old, but there's still a light on upstairs. If not..well..then I hope I'm able to still get on ECF!!!:headbang:...and that my friends sneek in some mini airline bottles of Kalhua and Ameretto and stuff that's "bad" for me...like Cheeseburgers and Fries ..and Tacos!!...and BACON ..like my Mom says..."I'm 85...I think I've earned the right to eat whatever I want to!".:thumb:

Well - "MoringNite" - "Tree People" . . .

. . . Start of a NEW DAY . . .

YES - COFFEE - TIME . . .

Problem is the step part of stepson...

Although, "You" may not be looking for a reply or any commentary . . .
scared-smiley-emoticon.gif

BUT - Really ? ? ?

The problem is he is a "Step" . . . Well if that is how "You" see him - I guess then it is alright for him to "Step" on everyone, especially "You" . . . Maybe "Mommy" NEEDS to step up to the plate and tell him a thing or two . . .
scolding.gif

Even with that said and not to be insensitive to the possible reason/causes of what seems to be this "young" man's lack of cognitive understanding what it means to be an adult and contributing member of the "Family" . . . Seriously, as an outsider who counsels others in "Human Behaviour Modification" - IMO - absolutely nothing is going to change or get better unless "You" and "Wifey" have a discussion about what is happening, especially about both of your expectations concerning the "living arrangements" and have a united front of what is and is not acceptable behavior of all the Adults in the home . . . Then have that same discussion with the 31 year old about those expectations and boundaries . . . AND - While, I know it is easier to say than get done at times, once again - IMO - it still NEEDS to be done so everyone knows what those expectations/boundaries are and can be together without any animosity for those not holding their own and contributing to the "Family" . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

It's about cooperation and respect for each other.

SO DITTO ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

An absolute necessity for any and all relationships, be the connection is for a moment or a life time . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)
@jpf880 . . . So glad to read that "Wifey" is better . . .
SmileyCoolThumbsUp.gif

my FRAD turned to me and said, "Everyone here is old!" (The man is 85...)
Did "FRAD" also realize that "He" is "OLD" too . . .
winking-devil-smiley-emoticon.gif

WOW - That took over an hour to write up . . .

Guess it is time to check out some of the other ECF neighborhoods . . .

Thanks @rangerrobin :) I have missed y'all here. Not feeling too "talkie" these days. I'm refusing to get involved in the Clouper giveaway thread. I don't have time to "increase my chances of winning" by babbling along (mostly incoherently). So, I'm gonna lay low.
