You are welcome cool....you sound as busy as I feel......although I may not have all of that going on...there is always stuff here.....yes decorating and cleaning is a necessity....but for me it's still early...so late next week I may begin...I am still freaked out about the fire and might not "go all out this year"....these people here don't seem to have problems with putting other people in danger and I for one will not be able to handle the losses of some of my irreplaceable items....I am even thinking about not decorating much at all..........not that they are much safer in storage....I don't know yet....things have to change some before I do......

Good Day to every one of you fine people here. Had to take a minute and catch up. Y'all are a bit chatty today.

@KatzWh1skers I have been divorced twice, married three times. Have a few kids. Didn't go to college. When I was younger people kept saying. Oh that was a mistake. Bet you wish you hadn't done that. I always just said, no that wasn't a mistake. That was a learning experience. Without the bad we wouldn't have the good. If we look there is always good in each situation. Sometimes people dwell so much on the bad that they forget to look for the good.

Well. More checking in and posting to do and time is slippery

Hey there all. Still reading reading reading. So much to learn every day and not nearly enough time to learn it. I believe I need a maid, a chef, and a general errand runner to take care of me so I can just spend all of my time in studying things that interest me and not starve to death. Of course it would have to be done by volunteers as I can't afford to pay them. Which means, unless I can talk my adult children into it I guess it isn't going to happen. Darn it

Well, keep smiling. If you convince them you are nuts, they generally leave you alone to do what you want to do

Today I learned that my team is so bad that they can't even shoot for the first pick in the draft correctly. I wonder what else I could learn if I had a maid, a chef, and a general errand runner...

I know! See what I mean. We could conceivably learn how to live better lives, be better people, be less of a drain on our planet and her resources, how to be a bigger pain to our adult children, or even look at random posts!!

The sheer amount of knowledge available to us, if we only had the time to learn it, it amazing.

I never once met a city person that would give the time of day without some remuneration of some sort... Until I joined this forum (and the cow forum Lannie is on). Here there are people from all around the world, urban, suburban, and country, who take great joy in helping others - people they have never even met, much less live next door to.

That's part of why I love these forums so much. The feelings of being part of something bigger and greater than myself had been missing for a number of years. Here we share good and bad and step up for each other. There are some who are not like that, but even that cements a feeling of community for me when I'm near the ones who are.

I love love love my hubby but tomorrow I get some quiet time and to get the laptop out so I'm a tiny bit glad he will be at work lol...

I'm going to unplug in a few... My attempt at getting some work done was foiled by children (they go back to school tomorrow--yay!), including my son's attempt to electrocute himself or burn the house down. He's learned that some electronic gizmos can be fixed (he's seen me fix computers, dvrs, televisions, toys, and other things) and decided that he is now an expert in electronics. The other day, he found a bluetooth speaker that someone lost or ditched--it was great fun, but the mini usb charge port had been torn loose from the circuit board and so it could not be recharged. He diligently took it apart, found that the piece could not be re-attached (he asked me if I could put it back, but the sautering would have been too fine for the tiny board), and decided that it might work if he just made a permanent connection between the speaker and a wall plug. Fortunately, my wife caught him as he was experimenting sticking different things into the socket. He'll be eight next week if he lives that long.

Thank Goodness the kids I raised are not into rebuilding or even building electrical type things. I just had to worry about standard things like keys and butter knives into the sockets.
On the other hand it would be awesome if they were techy so they could build me mods and stuff like that

Look at it this way, Count: They still have a fantastic Belly Button squad.

the sautering would have been too fine for the tiny board

I have managed with ECBs of that nature by using a 10-15W soldering iron with a tiny tip.

About the time man was able to move from spending all their time hunting and gathering ...and didn't have to worry about starving to death, shelter, staying warm or getting clubbed by their neighbor.......they had more time to ponder things like why apples fell out of trees ...and the meaning of Life,etc,etc. ...and it helps to have a chef,maid and errand runner(s)

Actually, we all ran away from our kids, responsibilities and reality not to long ago....It was an island called Angel's Island @liblue1 ...are the episodes still posted somewhere? I think you'd get a kick out of them, @teemae ..now that you know us tree peeps a little bit

Wow...Mom got off easy .... I was generally only into harmless things like art .... Mom had to repaint the walls a couple times, but nothing life threatening

...What is it with the electrical/fire hazard theme here lately??
I want everyone to be EXTRA careful this Holiday season ... change and test those batteries in your smoke detectors. Check those outlets to make sure they are grounded....Don't use frayed cords or overload outlets . Never leave candles unattended. Fire respects nothing and no one.
