1/7 - 3: And if I am not mistaken, like a Delta plane was flying into Dallas. The sky opened up, there were no clouds; the sky just opened. The mixture of that instant hot up, cold down is fast. Pushed the plane straight into the earth. Unfortunately all perished.

Guess if nature wants you she is going to get you, why I do not fear the tornadoes, lightning..... not stupid about it; just not afraid.

Didn't mean to come off sounding like a condescending wench but I did not realize ya'll were Storm Surfers,,,,...I mean...I lived off the grid in AK for 10 yrs ...It'd be like somebody tellin me ..."Now dress warm! It's cold out there"

@Slowone2 I see it as a chess game. You play chess? If not, you may want to take up the game ....It may help you to not take your adversaries personally. I have read where some insurance companies have quotas for denying claims , get kickback perks for low ball settlements ....where is the Humanity in that? ....so do whatcha hafta do, my friend to get what's yours. And do whatcha gotta do to keep your stress level down...only makes things worse for ya, mentally/physically. Don't ask me how I know.

ach ... @angelphyre ....You know someone was just saying here how this thing "mercury in retrograde" can cause all sorts of gremlins Guess ya don't hafta believe in it to have it mess wit you neither ...Hoping your odd car issues resolve themselves soon

Yeah, Tiggs. I minored in geology, so I'd like that conversation too.

t caught a microburst as it was hitting the earth. Not the start in the sky, but the damage bellow. A tree gone, two cars a house, fence booom!

Essentially a horizontal tornado that rarely touches ground, but often removes tree tops and roofs. Comes out of the cloud, goes a few hundred feet horizontally below the cloud, then sucks back up into another part of the same cloud, all the while rotating like a tornado. Kinda what I imagine a worm hole in space might be like (imagine winds at light speed).

Cumulo Fractus (scud) below Cumulus, Towering Cumulus, and even though I wasn't there to verify, the background on the left is likely a stage 1 Cumulonimbus (no anvil top yet). In other words, lots of rain potential with the possibility of hail.

1. So my week just keeps getting better ...went outside to leave for work this morning and the car wouldn't start...no wait, it would start, but only run for a second or two and then die. I called my son and luckily he was off work today and he came over to look at it...we ended up having to go to Auto Zone to rent a code reader ($150 just to rent it...luckily you get that back) and found out it has to do with the theft deterrent system and it shuts the car off whenever you try to start it...the module appears to have gone bad...my son found a work around that let us get the car started, but it's only a temporary fix because whenever you turn it off, you have to go through the procedure again, which takes 10 minutes...we took it to a mechanic that we've used before and they are going to run diagnostics on it and let us know for sure what is wrong...but they warned us if it is the module, we'll have to take it to the dealer because they have to recode it or whatever...which means the fix may be way more than the car is worth...since it's the bf's car, he'll have to make that decision, but it's looking like I may be without a car for a little while....This has not been a good start to the new year!

Not a great start to the year, but it can only get better from here right? The powerball could be the answer. It would be awesome if one of us wins or all of us!

3. Yeah Robin, I was going to buy a lottery ticket when I went to bf's this weekend, but since I can't get to Louisiana, no ticket for me. ...But keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of my Treefam who were able to get some.

Ended up having pizza delivered for dinner...it was either that or ramen noodles since I'm not usually here on Thursdays and so didn't have any food for myself here. ...but this way I'll have something for lunch tomorrow too....And even though I didn't get to have my "big drink" tonight, I did make myself a nice little drink (or two) and have been relaxing and watching TV all evening...it's working because I keep falling asleep in my chair here...so time to say G'night Treefam!

Right on ....I would love to learn more about clouds and weather and stuff

That was a simple basic "weather observation." Just about anyone can be taught (in very little time) to recognize the 27 basic states of sky (cloud types - although there are hundreds, only 27 are really important). Then, if you learn some atmospheric physics and thermodynamics and a lot of other 25-dollar words, you can begin to explain what goes on inside those clouds, then what is most likely to fall out of them. A lot of it is just common sense - gee, that kind of cloud shows up and it rains - that kind of cloud always happens just before really good sunny stuff shows up... The hard part is analyzing what's coming down the road from far away and how it will act when/if it arrives in your locality. That's what my little document tries to teach people.

Well, about time for me to wrap it up and go have an in-depth conversation with my pillow (read that as ZZzzzzz....). Hogs & Quiches everyone.

NOR - Do I believe that "GMO" would mind . . . However, before "You" do - may I suggest that maybe @Shawn Hoefer might be willing to host the document on his website for Ya' or that "You" post it as a "Blog" here on ECF (which "You" can delete later) and then provide a link here in the thread . . . AND - If neither of these options will work, then "You" have "My" Permission . . . Just Sayin' . . .


@angelphyre . . . Can't really like those post, really hope everything starts to work out and the year actually gets better for Ya' soon . . .

@Slowone2 . . . Personally, I have a problem with going to any lawyer to get money from someone (be it a suite/or hearing for benefits due), unless it is absolutely necessary . . . Even one that has been highly recommended given what I know they have done when it comes to doing any actual work that "You" really can do yourself . . . However, sometimes "You" just got too when all else fails . . . Hopefully, our own @angelphyre will advise Ya' a little here . . ..

Well Thank you all for the congrats.(btw that means I have been here, known you, almost as long).......I did vape TC all day.....but nothing else special.....I won so much recently and I got a new tank for Yule so I didn't do anything special for today......lots of vape mail on the way.........
