Cards were a bit before my time
Well, now I know I am older than you, Count. :p When I started in computers, ALL programmers used punch cards and dumb terminals connected to Cyber mainframes. We were just inventing stand-alone computers (not "desktop," they were the size of a large desk). Luckily, I was not a programmer, but inter-departmental liaison. I interpreted the computer geeks' language so that "normal people" could understand, then taught them how to use the hardware and software. In my spare time, I played at being a mechanical design engineer, then got into electronics design. Even when I graduated to engineering manager, in my heart I was (and probably always will be), a technical writer - someone has to explain to the layman what the geeks mean.

Welcome to ECF @Pure11 Check out this neat contest thread where you can win some really good e-liquid just by chatting with the great folks who hang out here (see complete "rules" on page 1). Lots of fun here! Nicest people on the forum and you just might learn a thing or twelve... :)

Just got to work.. About to get some coffee :)
I don't know why it's so hard for me to drive to work in the morning, it doesn't matter what time I go to sleep, I'm always dozing off at the wheel... It makes me nervous. I wish I could figure out something I could do... It's like I'm awake and fine but within a minute of leaving my house I start dozing off. It scares me because I'm always afraid I'm not gonna be able to pull myself out of it one day and run off the road or wreck and hurt someone :( anyone else have this problem?

5/11 - 1: Gotta run, consider Ginger root and taking small slices and chewing on it, helps to spike the brain awake.

Have a good one all, see you on the flip side.
;)

Try what others have suggested, as well as windows down with fresh, cool air blowing in. If it's warm out, AC full blast. Be safe!

Good morning, everyone.

The fact that I have kids running underfoot while you merely have cats and chicks should have tipped you off right there, Fuzzy! But I do remember dumb terminals and mainframes--it was on such a beast that I first encountered a real computer: playing a networked text game at the local university. My first program was written on a Wang Microcomputer at the university, too.

anyone else have this problem?
Sounds like others have given you some good advice. I'd also recommend a stronger jolt to getting you awake. in the morning... if not coffee, stick your head under a cold faucet. It gets the heart pumping and the blood circulating (and also helps to wash some of that sleep from your eyes. ;) ).

I had completely forgotten about cassette tapes! My first computer exposure was a Tandy/Sinclair 1000 with a 16K RAM pack. We actually had Flight Simulator on cassette tape. It would take 20 minutes to load, run for a couple of minutes, then crash. Lather, rinse, repeat. About the same with the TI-99/4A and Commodore 64.
