@warpedone Better to step in it than roll in it I guess!

Just not feeling much like myself today. Hopefully it goes away. I hate feeling like this.

Hope everyone is doing well and I'll catch y'all later.

My first computer exposure was a Tandy/Sinclair 1000 with a 16K RAM pack.
Ha! My friend had one of those. We tried programming on it, but after a few lines in, the 16k RAM pack would fall off its connector and the whole thing would crash!

GOOD Morning treefam, I hope everyone is doing well. My social security card got here so I'll be ready Friday the 13th for work. My girls are heading home from Grammy and POPPA's, I sure miss them I'll check in later and I'll be sure to watch out for dog poop while we are on our daily walk.

All this talk of old computers really makes me think. I wasn't around for the old reel 2 reel days or punch cards, but i can slightly remember the 5.25" floopys. One of my teachers had a system that took those. I remember playing Oregon Trail on it. Amazing how far things have come.

Just got to work.. About to get some coffee :)
I don't know why it's so hard for me to drive to work in the morning, it doesn't matter what time I go to sleep, I'm always dozing off at the wheel... It makes me nervous. I wish I could figure out something I could do... It's like I'm awake and fine but within a minute of leaving my house I start dozing off. It scares me because I'm always afraid I'm not gonna be able to pull myself out of it one day and run off the road or wreck and hurt someone :( anyone else have this problem?

I spend a lot of time on the road for my job, and have found myself in the same situation. This is probably not for everybody but I find it works for me. I take a mouthful of sunflower seeds in the shell. You have to crack them open with your teeth to get the nut out of the center which takes a tiny bit of concentration. It takes some practice to get it down and then you have to have something to spit the shell into. It is also helpful when you're trying to quit smoking as it works to satisfy the oral fixation. I never could quit smoking for very long though. Too many people around me were smoking. Anyway I have also heard that chewing peppermint leaves is a good way to stay awake.

This is actually a great idea, when I go on long road trips I always stop and get a couple of those dill pickles in a bag. Everytime I start getting sleepy I take a bite or drink a little of the juice, but I didn't really want to smell like a huge pile when I get to work plus I don't know about eating pickles at 5am.. I will definitely pick up some sunflower seeds on my way home today :)

Good morning everyone! It's overcast, drizzly, and very windy, so even though Blue is up and sucking her coffee, I'm NOT going outside to work today. I'll probably stay in and stuff turmeric capsules (we make our own pills here on the farm, a zillion miles away from civilization).

Welcome to ECF @Rumdiggity Check out this neat contest thread where you can win some really good e-liquid just by chatting with the great folks who hang out here (see complete "rules" on page 1). Lots of fun here! Nicest people on the forum and you just might learn a thing or twelve... :)

So I am all read up and that sure takes me down memory lane......yes I had a reel to reel.....the floppy disk that you have to change 3-5 times just to play chess and the zip was on my next to last computer....it was a Gateway and it had so many flaws......I had to change out the cd drive so many times.....but since it was under warranty they at least paid for it and shipped it to me to do it myself....I didn't know till just now that it was bought out my Acer.....I almost bought an Acer laptop.....but changed my mind at the last minute.....

I have done that before.....I was taking MSM for years before it was popular and I could get a pound of it in powder form from a company for really cheap....so I did and 1000 empty capsules at a time and made them myself....I knew I would never run out...I am glad you are taking it easy today....

Quick afternoon catch up. Work isn't bad and I'm feeling a little better.

My uncle had a Radio Shack computer that used the big floppies. I saw some at a garage sale once. Almost bought one just because.

Have a good afternoon Treefam. Catch ya later!

@DaleH1985 Next time you interview, I figured out the perfect answer to the interview question, “What’s your biggest weakness?” It’s “Interviewing.” If you bomb, you weren’t going to get the job anyway; if you’re – meh – they’ll think: well, admittedly, that is what they're worst at so everything else has to be better; and if you nail it, they’ll think: My God, if that’s what they're worst at, must be an all around bad ....
