Yup. I missed it, Tiggs. I used to hear that one a lot as a kid and always wondered what a "gift horse" was and why I'd want to look in his mouth anyway... I figured it out after I got into buying/riding horses, which made me feel real stupid for not catching on quicker. Sigh...

I need to take care of a few things and then take my son to the school dance (my daughter has ballet rehearsal, so it's just us guys).

I asked him what he needs to do to get ready and he said nothing.

"You're going to wear those shorts and t-shirt?"

"Yup."

"You're not going to try to look good for the ladies?" I teased.

He cocked his eyebrow and looked me in the eye. "I'm a little too young to be trying to look good for the ladies!"

He's 9.

Been a little sore today so basically taking it easy tonight. Probably (hopefully) at least part of the weekend as well.

TIOA Sns 8 eps 82: The next morning Katz awoke a little later, her head hurt a little; she went for water. Count awoke just a little later, he felt a little better; but thought coffee sounded good. Anjel slept like she normally did. Count found the coffee and a rude percolator, he smashed the beans down with a knife; he found no grinder. He started the coffee, the smell was just coming out when Katz came back with fresh water.

Katz set the water down and made herself a glass of water. "That smells good." "Hope it is good, couldn't find the grinder." "Oh you mean that one there." Katz pointed up on the wall, Count looked for a while and finally recognized one hanging, he shook his head. "Well, if it's not, we can try again." "I'm sure it will be fine." Anjel came out of the bedroom in the mid afternoon, they talked and ate. Anjel went and took a faster bath, she came out dressed again in black. She sat again with them, the discussion was of home.

Anjel ate a dinner, and waited just a few minutes before getting up, she headed back to her bedroom to get her things. Count came in a few minutes later, knocking first. Anjel turned and looked at him. "I would like for you to have something." Count pulled his arm from around his back and towards Anjel. She smiled and accepted it warmly, she put her arms around Count and gave him a hug. She let loose and put on her mask. "Thank you." "No problem." Anjel went to and up the window, the sun was just going down.

She thought for a minute, too many people; she had not looked for the man in the hat yet. She started to hop over the roofs and finally needed to cross the street, she went down and over like always and found a way into the alley and back up. She went over many, one more turn she was thinking.

TIOA Sns 8 eps 83: Anjel was making it to the last houses, there was larger space behind two and she could see the man with the long hair below, he was looking straight at her; she was not sure how he knew where she was, but he was always there now. She stopped on the top and looked down at him, his sword at his side, Anjel knew with him following her, she could do nothing. She went down the building always watching him to make sure he never came forward, she went out from the buildings and drew her sword.

The man drew his sword as well. The two started to walk towards each other, Anjel came at him straight forward and with no hesitation, the man did as well. Anjel had the blade in her right hand and low, he had his high and in his right hand, as he came closer he put his second hand on his sword and started to swing, Anjel brought her sword high just as she jumped, she brought her sword down to deflect his and landed the heal of her foot square into his jaw, the man felt the blow the momentum of them both sent them flying Anjel somewhat over, he falling but still forward, Anjel fell on top of him while falling and pushed off first with a hand and then her foot to get away, she fell away to the ground, as the man did and got back up.

Anjel put the sword in both of her hands and had it held across her chest, she looked at him, he was angry and came forward, he came slower and held the sword in one hand and began to fight her with the blade, Anjel held this time with two hands, his blows much less effective, he made a slight flaw and she gave three fast offensive swings, and kicked him in the stomach, the man went back a little. He stopped and looked at her a little, Anjel waited for him again.

TIOA Sns 8 eps 84: The man came forward again, the step more careful the swings hard, he made sure to keep his composure, the weight of the man was greater than her and he knew it; his swings kept her away and on the defensive. Anjel started around the yard, he never let up, but he finally took his sword higher, this bought her time and she drew her blade from her waist. The man came down hard she blocked with her sword, and swung at him with her other blade, he moved back keeping his sword on hers and after her blade moved just past his face, he punched her in the face.

Anjel fell back and he came at her quickly, he kicked her in the chest and she fell to the ground, the man came forward still and swung down at her, she blocked with her sword, but the force still made her sword come down, the man cut her on the right arm, pulling his blade back, Anjel turned and still brought her sword up, she cut the top of his hand, she drew her sword down, the man went back and forward swinging his sword hard in an arch, Anjel blocked.

She was able to keep his blade from hitting her, but he knocked the sword from her hand, his swing continued around, her sword flying, Anjel started to get up as the man brought the sword down on her, she blocked with her smaller blade and barely made him miss, his sword hit the ground and then he brought it up pushing it towards her, part of his blade started into her chest. Anjel pulled back to keep him from going deep, her blade trying to push him away.

The man was still able to bring the blade up and cut her just below the wrist, she went back and let his blade move away, she adjusted quickly and grabbed her blade that Katz had returned to her,with her right hand: and thrust it in his leg. The man was bringing his sword back down, and the pain altered his blow, his sword hit the ground, he used it as a third leg and kicked Anjel with his right. She spun back with his blow, taking the hit; but distancing herself, the man went down and pulled the blade from his leg and picked up his sword.

TIOA Sns 8 eps 85: Anjel spun around the blade in her left hand, the man started forward; when Anjel put her right arm behind her back. She pulled the sword that Count had given back to her from her back, she let him come at her. The swords and smaller blades worked back and forth, matched on both sides; the man pushed a little harder and came closer to Anjel, he was able to push her back with his fists: she went back throwing her sword at him. The man paused and let the blade pass, Anjel adjusted quickly and they went back at it again.

The blades again met, the battle long; both were getting tired, the wounds helped neither. The man came at her again as before; he began to push and paused. He stopped and looked at her, his head dipped a little as he started to step back and away, the blade leaving his chest. He fell to the ground, and Anjel looked at him, she walked closer and looked at his face. She took back her blade and slowly walked over to retrieve her sword.

She went to the ground, and breathed hard for a long time, the sweat was starting to come out all around her body, she felt cold. She breathed a little longer and started her way back home. She only need get there, they would take care of her. Anjel stayed in the alleys and went on the ground the whole way, until she had to climb up to go back down. She entered and Katz and Count saw her, this time they noticed her movements and came quickly. Anjel took off her mask and tried to smile, all they saw was blood and cut cloth, Katz went into doctor mode and told Count to retrieve her supplies.

They both treated Anjel, she assured them that she was okay; they still looked her over and tended to her. "You are going to take a break." said Katz "I can still operate." replied Anjel. "Just take a few days to rest, Anjel." said Count softly. Anjel looked at him and started crying, Katz and Count hugged her, she cried in both of their arms.

3. Was mostly a quiet day for me, which I've enjoyed immensely...had a good dinner, now just sitting back watching some Big Bang Theory.

Decent day here and now getting packed up for an out of town trip. Leaving tomorrow morning and coming back Sunday night. Really not as into it as usual. Almost rather stay home TBH.

Wifey wasn't doing well today so another day I had to call off work. Seemed like a very long day. I'm going to try and get up early so I can work 12hrs instead of 9, very possible I won't make it up in time.
