what was claimed to have been said in any given time period could not have been said until 300-400 years later because the people didn't talk that way at the time of the claimed event/speech. Back to Rome... that was not my area of focus either, but a necessary minor in order to understand the overall big picture of Mediterranean history. What became very obvious for the whole area was that the more one learned about pagan life, the more it became very obvious that The Church was making things up as they went in an attempt to cover up pagan holidays/events/goddesses/etc. with pseudo saints in order to grab power over the lives of the masses
Julius/1 - 1: Well now we have to make a timeframe, for the writings of the time, one in thought written I believe 800 years after the fact, the earliest known at 80 years. You keep asking questions that you have the answers to, why Anglicize the names and make new holidays. Did you not answer it above? We discussed Easter did we not, hmmmm two different threads; that one may have not made it here yet. Oooh and don't even ask about the books that have been taken from your vision, you have to actually go out and look for them, good info.

Where are my manners, good morning all; already ready to roll, waiting to go to W on this F. Nice slow rain outside right now, will pass the wreck again and see if I can get good pictures. Not much planned here as well Dale ;)

Well glad to see I'm not the only one without plans for the weekend. I guess I will just see what the weekend brings.

Good morning all. I have the series Rome on dvd and have watched it several times.
It's Rapa Nui. A version of the Latin alphabet is used to write Rapa Nui, although the language is rarely written, and most on Isla de Pascua write in Spanish.

Good morning all. I hope your Friday is chugging along. Made the rayon switch this week and so far I'm pretty impressed. Flavor is good to go, it makes an RDA feel like a tank because it just holds soooo much juice. And for a pack that should be good for a year for 2$ or a lifetime for15$ I think I have replaced cotton and kanthal with cellucotton and stainless steel.

@ThaFuzz sounds like i need to make the jump to building and grab some of that myself. Buying throwaway coils gets a little pricey, especially compared to that.

So just got slammed for nearly an hour. 10 plus people in my tiny little lobby at 1 time. Some of them got a little cranky, but hey, i'm by myself here until 11. Sorry about their luck.

Will check back later, if business allows.

Coffee and French Toast dogestion in progress. Looks like my guys didn't make the semi-finals, so we have a completely free day and don't have to get up early Saturday for awards ceremony. Too bad everything is pre_paid with no refunds - we would have headed home a day early.

Gooood man, been using rayon for months now, after seeing the science and then actually trying it, it IS better, factually speaking, people will still tel you cotton bacon v2 is better but they don't know what they're talking about rayon wicks better FACT... also it doesn't "absorb" liquid like cotton does it just suspends it (thats just 2 examples of why its better, there's a long list)... thus no degradation of the fibres absorbing and having the heat of the coils drag the liquid back out, it does however still burn and eventually the fibres collapse...

BUT, that said... it takes muuuuch longer for that to happen compared to cotton, wish companies like SMOK would use rayon instead of organic cotton, really like my h-priv just need the RBA for the tfv4 micro now, and some SS clapton wire, temp control AND massive clouds in the same coil - winner! :headbang:

Yeah with rayon and stainless, it costs me 1cent to rebuild a single coil that's way cheaper than cottibe bacon and kanthal

Good morning, everyone. I managed to sleep in a little today (I guess it had to do with the fact that it is overcast this morning...).

@ThaFuzz and @Chris H., you guys are beginning to make me curious about rayon. Back when I moved on from organic cotton balls, the decision between "Japanese" cotton and rayon was basically a toss up--and I went with the cotton because I didn't need an eternity's supply of it. However, I have found a few instances lately where the cotton can't keep up--rare, but it has happened. Hmm....

@Zipslack, sorry your team is out--but now you can go and absorb what all the other teams are doing, right?

When you wake up tomorrow, Count (and anyone else who chooses to participate), this is something I have always had a problem with. No, not anything you said, but that we have an "Anglized version" of dang near everything from every country on the planet. My beef is: Why can't we leave other people's words and names as THEY used them? We have renamed nearly every Pharaoh of ancient Egypt instead of using the name they called themselves. We rename countries instead of using the name those locals call their own country. Why do we do this?
A little early in the morning for me to tackle this.... but here it goes:

Several factors come into play here. The first is Imperialism. Over the past 500 years, as the European (and other) nations expanded their trade and settled colonies, they brought with them a nationalistic belief that their culture was superior to that of the lands they were visiting. After all, if they were truly a superior culture, then they wouldn't need to be colonized, right? Similarly, the men (it was mostly men at this time) who made the initial contact and settlement were not anthropologists interested in learning the ways of the natives. They were explorers, missionaries, seekers of fortune. They claimed islands and founded cities in the name of a saint or, lacking the linguistic precision or a concern for precision, wrote names on a map with an approximate spelling...

I have been using rayon for quite a while and like. I do have some way old tanks in which I still prefer the cotton.
Am thinking about getting another device with the sales this weekend - need v. want - which will win?
