Happy Thor's Day y'all. Yesterday evening was strange. I saw a black cloud on the distant NW horizon as I was getting ready to mow the dog yard. Normally, thunderstorms in summer come from the SW, and the surface wind was blowing from the south, so any logical person would have not worried about that black mass, buy you guys know me by now, so I kept watching it as I mowed and it kept coming closer. I said, "I gotta get this done before the rain starts." There was no rain or T-storms in the official forecast, but I knew better this time. Just as I was finishing the mowing, a few drops of rain hit me in the face, so I raced to the shop to put the mower away. Wind gusting fiercely, rain now pouring (although that only lasted about 20 minutes), and the temperature dropped from 85 to 60 in just a couple minutes. When it was over, I went outside and could not find the cabbage hat I made for the garden (a 4'x4'x6' cage, covered in screen-door mesh to keep the bugs out). Then I saw it, upside down, 100 feet the other side of the brush pile, and it's broke. Guess what repair work I will be doing today.
This morning, during chores, and every day. Of course, if you were referring to Bodega Bay ("The Birds" is coming), it's been years since I watched that movie.
