So I didn't waste the day being angry....although I wanted to....it's after 3 and the boss still hasn't returned my call........
I put in an app, did an interview and a drug test..... for an inventory associate.....at least to start...I can see me being a team leader soon enough....

Phew.... as if I didn't have enough going on.... I received a phone call ten minutes after I got home claiming to be an officer from the sheriff's department telling me that I have two warrants out for my arrest after failing to appear at a court case regarding a traffic accident that I allegedly witnessed and gave a statement regarding. I was 99.9% sure that it was a scam--but (on that 0.1% chance that it was not), I kept them on the phone while waiting for my wife to come home so that she could call the sheriff's direct line and find out if it was legit. Of course, my wife decided to take her time coming back with the kids.... Some ing people make me sick!

Be careful, there are scams like that, and my sister paid dearly for one. They make up something and if you respond, it is like giving a confession of guilt, then all of a sudden lawyers are on you.

I had to call off work again to take Wifey o the doctor this morning, he sent her straight to the hospital and admitted her so that's where I've been all day. I'm mentally worn out.

... have gotten phone calls claiming to be the FBI ...back taxes or sumpthin or other ...also scams
Yeah, that time difference is a kicker, Mac...but it sounds like that being up 35 hours straight should cure it.

I wouldn't have taken it as seriously if I didn't know that there had been an identity theft incident earlier this year. But if I had been summoned to court, I would have been subpoenaed--and that would have required something delivered in-person.

That was on my mind, too. I'd heard about that scam--and so when the second guy (theoretically the first guy's superior--I guess I was taking up too much time ) said that I have to state my name and that I am in compliance, I balked and started asking about that. I also told him that the first guy had not asked for that before he passed the call to the second guy. "Oh really? That should have done that since it's procedure." (Yeah, right!) Actually, I was asking them about everything: I kept them on the line for 58 minutes according to my call log. My wife suggested that next time I should play like I'm 100 years old and have hearing problems...

So much for getting much done today. Maybe tomorrow will be a little more productive. Good night, Treefam!

Always hits me harder coming this way than it does going to the Far East. I had though that after getting the good sleep last night I would be a little better. Started feeling it bad this afternoon, was tired this evening, went to bed a bit early figuring I'd be out fairly quick but it's midnight here and I'm still awake. Gotta be up in less than 5 hours - drank a little "special" med hoping that helps.

Wow, I've missed a lot this week...afraid I've been in the sick crowd myself and just haven't felt up to doing anything at all, even getting in here...I think all the running around I've been doing lately has really gotten me run down, so this has just been nature's way of making me slow down and rest for a change.

@CountBoredom - just a little tip for you (coming from working in the legal field and with law enforcement and courts) no law enforcement agency will call you to tell you that you have warrants and ask for more info from you...they will just show up at your door if it's serious enough, and yes you're absolutely right, if you are supposed to appear in court they have to subpoena you and have proof that you actually received that subpoena. Also, and I know you know this, never give any information to anyone over the phone claiming to be from any kind of government agency or such...for one, they don't call you. They send a letter as a point of contact...and if you do receive such a call, you tell them that you will have to call them back and then find their legitimate contact info and call them to see if it's legit. Now of course if you just want to mess around with them and jerk their chain, then by all means, go for it...that's always fun!

I know there were other things I wanted to comment on, but my brain is basically swiss cheese right now so I can't remember what, so I'll just send healing vibes, good wishes and prayers to all those who need them...oh yeah, that was it... @jpf880 prayers for wifey and you and lots of healing energy on the way.

ETA: Oh yeah, and @liblue1 - holding good thoughts for you that the job situation works out to your satisfaction...I know the right thing will come along for you soon.

@CountBoredom these scams are getting ridiculous lately. We had one recently call and telling my husband he owes back taxes from a few years back.. We were pretty darn sure it was a scam so he kept them on the phone while I went online on the irs website and read that there was a scam going on and if anyone got a phone call it definitely wasn't the irs because they will not call you they send mail and by this time the person on the line was telling my husband the cops were on the way to arrest him if he doesn't pay now, so my husband preceded to tell him that his wife had already called the cops because of this scam phone call so they most definitely won't be coming to arrest me, but you on the other hand... The man hung up right about there lol

Well I made it to work...we have a bunch of trucks here already rolling, but one of the drivers just came and asked me if we are selling the company (lately there have been alot of rumors) because we sold a bunch of our front loader trucks yesterday and are supposed to be buying some new rear loaders.. they told me it's because you can get 3 rear loaders for the price of one front loader, I think it's stupid for us to sell them off though because we are the only company down here with these front-loaders and they can get in anywhere gravel, snow, mud, whatever those rear loaders can't do that... I don't know what they're doing but there sure have been a lot of rumors lately...I guess we will see you soon enough.

Well I guess I better get to work, I have soooo much to do... TGIF
