Errands done, at W with coffee. It didn't take as long as I thought so I was even here a bit early. Makes for an early escape on Saturday! Yay!

I spent a little time this morning tilting at wind mills: filed a complaint with the nearby theater regarding a party they threw at 11 pm Sunday night and commented on the proposed construction of a parking garage on the nearby university campus.

Next up: showering and going to vote. Gotta vote no on a state proposition to tax vaping.

My son and his friends just got a little dose of reality: there is a Math/Science/Engineering competition for schools. Each year, they have a final major competition: this year it is to build a solar car. The trick, however, is that there are three competitions before that one--and they involve learning facts. We just got back from the practice for the first competition (which is next week) and the kids were handed a copy of the Periodic Table and a map of the world. Suddenly, the talk at the table went from discussing Pokemon to "What?" Bait and switch? Maybe, but that is still a lesson to be learned...
