I've been running the goblin mini on a mini volt for a couple of weeks now. I'm using double coils, but built it to .9 (the mini volt recommends that you don't build below .8 but it will take down to a .2 (I think)).

With the .9 coils at about 23 watts, I am getting 5-6 hours out of it. It is great for running errands, going out to dinner, that type of thing. You can use the mini volt as a passthrough, but I haven't yet.
Thanks for info. Personally I would rather carry an extra 18650, or in this case a spare Mini Volt LOL, than use the passthrough feature on any mod.

Now I don't want any flak from anyone, I used the term "personally".

I have both and like both( serpent and gm v2) they kind of fill completely different roles for me as a vaper except both having great flavor. The serpent is a single coil in my opinion flavor Atty(people talk about it being wide open airflow wise and i disagree the serpent has decent airflow but its still restricted IMO) i use my serpent a lot of the time around my house with a juice i have been saving or something special i really want to taste. I can fill it and forget about du to the decent tank size and single coil dont get me wrong with a nice size clapton i can produce some pretty decent vapor and it will guzzle not sip the juice but i generally use it for something special anyways the gm mini is a nice pocketable stealthy little atty. Its got amazing flavor again these are just my opinions but has a pretty restricted airflow and middle of the road vapor production. Not to mention the gm minis tank only holds 3ml of juice. Its perfect for me on the go or when I want to use a single 18650 device. I have one on my evic mini at 35watts with dual coils 316l .4 and an lg hg2 it will last almost all day. At first I struggled with the deck size I guess the deck in the v2 is bigger then the v1 but I don't know how as its freaking microscopic !! Also wicking can be a Bit of a ..... but once I figured it out I'm really enjoying it and use it both out and about and at home
Thanks for your thoughts! When you say that the Serpent produces decent vapor & the gm mini is middle of the road. Do you mean the gm mini produces less? I love the vapor production of the Serpent both with the included twisted wire & 26/32 Claptons.

Thanks a lot for your specs! Do you use 28g kanthal to achieve the .9 ohms? 5-6 hours is pretty good, better than I thought it would do. :thumb:

In my opinion the serpent produces more vapor then the GM 2....

Edit....last night i stuffed 2 28x32 2mm id claptons in my gm v2 and im still struggling to adjust the wicking to keep up with them over 45 watts. Also im getting the feeling its air starved also not enough air to really cool them down once they are fully ramped ....shrug..... I still have the lab coat on so hopefully ill get it working 8) @45 watts the flavor is amazing just a bit anemic vapor wise

Uhm.. Sounds like the GM mini is similar to the Bellus, it's rather a smaller deck to build on, the flavor is amazing, tighter airflow, but the vapor production is great. Once I got it to stop leaking when filling it works for a more restricted airflow but great vapor production.

Spot on. Some tanks don't need huge power and builds to shine. The Bellus/Gmini/Bachelor are great examples of this.

Well, I've had mine for a week as of today. It took a couple of builds to find its sweet spot but a dual 8 wrap 26g around a 2mm bit at .35ish ohms is it. I'm really liking it and also enjoying not carrying around a dripper.

I am still working on getting it not to leak when filling. The method I used chokes the wic so I get burnt hits. What did you do to not make it leak when filling? I even turn it upside down then open the air flow. I still get some leaking.

Which drip tip do you have there? It looks similar to the one which comes with the El Diablo RTA.

Same. Last time I stuffed too much cotton into the juice holes and was getting dry hits. I've rewicked it again and it's doing better; however, there are still small puddles underneath the tank when I check every 6 hours or so. I tried out Vaping Biker's wicking method this time. Sorry I can't post a link as I'm on tapatalk. You'll find it on Youtube.

It takes a little fiddling with the wick. Wick it a little snug, cut the wicks flush with the deck, place 1-2mm of wick in the juice channel, wet wicks. Then use the upside down method. When using Japanese organic cotton you have to get just right, in the beginning I cheated with Cotton Bacon it helped, I think cotton Bacon might be just a little bit more absorbent. I scoured YouTube for wicking tutorials. Don't hate on me but RipTrippers vid on the Bellus helped. I removed my deck to check my wick for you & it seems the wick pancakes itself. You will still get slight condensation when chain Vaping at the airflow holes but nothing a quick wipe with a tissue can't fix.

I just wick it like a kayfun. Bunny ears through the barrel, cut flush with the top of the barrel and poke the wicks down to the juice channels. *shrug*

Note: if you have slow leaking problems, one of your wicks is probably touching the airflow and letting juice run down into it.

so here she is ... the goblin mini - two days in... the only con i see is that when taking off the top to refill the tank its easier to take off the drip tip first and not to tighten down too much on the top - or the whole thing will unscrew glass tank and all -- i wick it rayon - wicking is done very much like the mutank
