Well, perhaps not the exact recipe. But a clone that is close enough to appease our cravings will do just fine by me
the biggest thing you guys seem to miss is that there is no pg based flavoring in ave juices(save for a select few) your usual flavorings are not what they use. they either have to be alcohol based or vg based. so using lorrans or tfa is not the key to unlocking the mystery of ave juices. you gotta dig deeper than that
Okay, got my flavorings in. Just mixed a batch up > 15% Graham Cracker, 5% Banana nut bread, 4 drops TFA sweetener. Contrary to what I am used to, I mixed it at 70VG/30PG, still need to experiment with the ratio to see if I can tolerate it.
I didn't use the Pie Crust, but, I can immediately tell that something is missing compared to the OGJ (original Gorilla juice). It feels 'lighter' in flavor. I have ~2mls left of some OGJ, and though this blend is good, it lacks that certain robust/thick flavored quality compared to the original. Could this be due to the PG? I honestly don't think so, as it's an issue of flavor, rather than feel/texture. Though, I will mix a bottle of all VG in the near future, just because.
I wonder if by using a similar recipe, though with different flavoring brands, the results would be enough to actually mimic the OGJ. The more I puff on it, the more my mind is assimilating the blends as one. Still, as you had said in previous posts, it's missing something. Perhaps a different flavor brand could be it, perhaps an actual ingredient. I will allow this blend a few days to cook.
Still, all in all, not a bad blend.
But im not crazy that its similar right ? I kept vaping it and another PV with the OGJ and they just seemed so similar on my tongue.
No doubt.
I am enjoying it, truly. The more I vape on it, and if I didn't take another hit of the OGJ, I could be easily fooled to enjoy this almost as much. If there could really be no further moves towards making it more like the original, I think I could be satisfied with the recipe as is.
This isn't going to deter me from experimenting though. Where's the fun in that?![]()
Im going to get some cherry flavorings and see, I have to follow my taste buds on this one, thats how I got here.
so why no pie crust? is there something in there that is bad? or just not something you like ?
Heh, it always makes me smile when I see that you're attempting cherryDon't get me wrong, I'm not knocking you for it. It's just so odd to me. Alas, everyone tastes differently, and I am curious to hear the results.
Man, I could be way off, but, I am starting to think that the missing element is indeed a tobacco.
As I had previously said, the recipe as it is now is almost a little too buttery sweet for me. So, just for fun, I dripped some of my Black Honey/Vanilla mix into the atty along with a drip of this mix. Now, don't quote that as being the key to this enigma, the missing ingredient(s) is definitely not Black Honey Tobacco![]()
However, the buttery-ness seems to chill out and robust is definitely added to the equation, albeit different from the OGJ. I really need to start trying out more tobacco flavors here soon. If I wasn't on a chocolate mission... too many options, not enough money.
Also, I think that investigating into PG-free flavors is a great component in unraveling this mystery. Another front I wish to take on here in the near future.
I find many turkish tobaccos remind me of GJ and Bobas. Might give that a try.
By the way, how long have you guys let this stuff steep? I only mixed it 12 hours ago but I can't stop smelling it. Smells amazing.
I allow it enough time to shake the bottle and drip in to my atty. That is my idea of steeping.
Good enough for me! I don't have a clean atty around though. I've got an HH357 coming in tomorrow. Hopefully I can wait that long.
