I have never DIYed with Desert ship, but, I know I despise the flavor because of a blend I purchased from a vendor that stated that flavoring was involved (and also used in other tobacco blends that make me want to gargle gasoline). I definitely don't think that it's the missing element, however, if you're a fan of it, give it a shot!

If you're like me, and find the current recipe a tad too sweet, or lacking in body, then a tobacco might be just the thing needed to give it that extra umpf.

I am curious about this tobacco absolute. It's definitely in the radar for my list of tobaccos to attempt. Especially because it can be purchased PG-free, and that is the first step into finding which flavors, exactly, are used in the OGJ.

The descriptions of "thick and sweet" are what made me think Tobacco Absolute could be in there. Hopefully I'll get the chance to order some soon.

I don't think I've had Desert Ship before (I think the first liquid I had was some sort of Camel flavor. I've heard Desert Ship is used in Camel flavors) but it certainly smells strong and sweet. I do have two drops of Vape Wizard in my mix so maybe that will keep the Desert Ship in line. I think I'll mix some up with it tomorrow.

Sweeten your choice...

Oh yeah? Damn man, you're really gonna make me buy more flavors? I might give the banana, tobacco, and cinnamon a try, though, I will not add coconut. I don't taste coconut in the least, and, I hate it as a vape :D

Ok, since we are on tobaccos these are the ones I have tried stand alone and even mixtures of in this recipe:
-desert ship
-Latakia
- tfa tobacco alc (absolute in alcohol)
- perique
- Turkish
- chocolate tobacco
- cubano
- m-type
And 2 others I can't remember off the top of my head, I'll report back when I'm home.
The only one that melded was the tobacco (alc) but I couldn't notice a distinct note from it. It may have helped, but I don't think that's all that's missing. Every other one was way overpowering even at .5% in 30ml. The tobacco alc was great at 1% but not hugely noticeable (to me) and I don't think made it distinctly closer. Same with the pie crust, I've pulled that out since.

Wizard Labs has something called "Smooth PG Concentrate" or something like that. That flavor is under the Tobacco category on TPA's site so I'm assuming that's it. Unfortunately it is out of stock on WL so it looks like you'll need to get it from TPA or another vendor that sells it.

that smooth flavor doesnt taste like a tobacco to me,

i was told that smooth concentrate acts just the same as the AAA mask from FA... and its true..

Ok, I have to make an order for some of my normal DIY flavors this week, everyone please make a list of what you think might be the "it" that's missing and ill grab them while I'm at it. I'm probably ordering from onestopdiyshop because of their wide selection of manufacturers, if anyone has other suggestions let me know and provided they have my few normal things I'll go there, or just make 2 orders.. But I don't want to be ordering from 3 places or more! Hahaha. So, lets get a list going, I'll let you know what I have already and don't and post before I order.. Ok.. Go! Haha

Keep the AVE juice clone recipes coming. I have a major VG sensitivity and 80/20-70/30 tops is all I can vape without getting major side effects that make me feel like I have a cold. I've been wanting to try their liquids since almost the beginning of my vape career but due to these side effects it's not an option.

Have you tried the bit of cherry yet Dig? Curious to see how that turns out. I think the color of the juice is a big indicator here as well. Anybody else know of some red-tinted flavorings?

By the way, I'm trying the original mix at 50/50 PG/VG on my 357 right now. Good stuff but I'm not getting a lot of flavor. Probably just a bit of flavor overload. Plus my 357 needs to break in.

EDIT - I'd also like to know what that Smooth Tobacco flavor is now. Again, I assumed it was just the Smooth concentrate since it was under Tobacco on TFA.

i think you should grab the cherry you were talking about.. go with your gut..

on a side note, the redbull from WL has like a pinkish tint.. not sure if the tint our looking for is dark red or a light pale red.

if your going to be ordering TPA flavorings you should hit up WL because you get more for your money.. over at OSDIYS you will be getting 6ml versus 8ml from WL.... just a thought. i only get the TPA flavors from OSDIYS if John is not carrying them at the moment or if i need a custard or popcorn .. stuff like that. but OSDIYS does have cheeeaaap FW and they have those FA flavors also.. i wish they had CAP or more FA flavors.. it would be nice.

i know that seedman's commercial cigarette tobacco has like this dark brown color to it, but if you put it in a glass vile, i can see some hint of red in it.. maybe the morashino cherry (or however you spell it) but i dont know what it looks like because i dont have it... i wish i could help more.

I once saw a supposed Boba's recipe that I thought was ridiculous because it included Absinthe and the OP said you could replace the Absinthe with Red Bull. Interesting.

I'm going to go ask around and see what people think could be in GJ. brb! :)

Haven't done the cherry, that's one of the things on order. Again, I don't taste it in the vape, but if you rub a little around your tongue I taste it.

I didn't getting of flavor either, really just overpowering grahm ish flavor but after 24-48 hrs I got great flavor etc.

As someone mentioned "banana cream", I tried that in a mix and the banana way way to similar to "runts" candy/ fake banana.. OGJ definitely is more of a real banana, personally the banana but bread has a much more realistic banana IMHO.

To all regarding the PG/VG percentages. OGJ is 100% VG but I feel it lacks throat hit and IMHO the flavor is muted. I've tried this recipe at 100% VG (minus non VG flavors) and its closer but not 100% by any means. I prefer it around the 50/50 because to me the flavors pop more.. Tailor it to YOUR liking, but remember anything away from 100% VG will mean the flavor WILL be different that OGJ.

I'm getting some additional "tobacco" flavors and a few different cherry flavors, and assorted grahmcracker / banana/but flavors. If anyone has ideas let me know and I'll get them to try. You have 24 hrs.. Lol..
