Just because I want to try guessing...

... I'm betting it screws into the Heron and replaces the insulator and gpin as an add on. :)

Yep! The interior of the base is similar to Spheroid's base. A 510 connection has to be applied there, no need to change the whole base.

Anybody have problems with this setup on Heron?
With the simple loop that I use with the Spheroid give me taste to burnt
:(
I'm really worried

Yours is under-wicking.
Reason: most probably 'smothering'. You might have tightened the wire over the wick tad too much ~ so it's not feeding well.

Use a needle with the Silica (or Ekowool) and lightly wrap the wire over both. And you'd be fine, Imho.

Okay, I said that I would post back yesterday with my results after a day of use. 2 days is better though right?

I've successfully figured out my burnt cotton issues. 60% of that was the amount of fluff I used. 40% was that the cotton-cap piece had too much cotton coming through it and it was choking the juice off. It was fine in the coil, but when using that cap, you have to account for juice-choking twice, instead of once with just the coil...something I wasn't accustomed to.

Once I got that sorted with a lot of trial and error and many wasted cotton balls (lol), I've finally figures out the process to wicking a microcoil with cotton balls in TWO configurations. One being a lot like Q's tutorial. I was originally using a short fatter wick coming out of the cap. After viewing his posts a few time...I noticed the major difference between my build and his....he was using a long, thinner wick. Once I got the thickness and length right....boom, success.

The other way was going off of chadsmo's fluff-less build. I tried this one when because I was getting the burnt wick originally, and it flooded like hell....so I went from one extreme to another. So I scrapped this build and started figuring out how to get the fluff to work again. Once I had figured out the correct amount of fluff/cotton (see above), I decided to give Chad's build another go. Turns out, what worked best for me using Chad's fluff-less design was using the amount of cotton that caused me the original trouble of burnt wicks in the beginning! A short fatter wick coming from the cap.

All that said, I've found 2 very different ways to vape my Heron now when I was beginning to think I was a lost cause on this wonderful atomizer. Now I'm going to start working on some cap-less builds using silica & SnC yarn.

Anyway, just thought I'd update you all. I'm now in vaping heaven. Thank you Perseas and Co. once again! And a big thanks to Q & Chad for their tutorials for giving me a starting point!

The only thing I could complain about would be if I chain vape on either build, EVENTUALLY (it takes a while of chain vaping..) I get a little juice spitting, but that goes away once I set it down for a few seconds....BUT King Perseas has already addressed this, and I may add in a VERY generous way.

So...all is well, and I've found a new love in my Heron!

This is the same of the KF true?

Yes it is, along with the figure 8 posted above. I plan to wrap a few 1mm cut strands(4/5). Then I'll sort of point them up into the fluff. I am using a Prometey this way and it is awesome. Beats KF in flavor by a lot for me.
