I'm calling for help from the spheroid experts in this group I have been trying to set the spheroid set up today ( only for the second time since purchase ) I have been using 2mm silica and .20 kanthal. The first few hits are perfect and then immediately after that all I get is dry hit after dry hit.
I don't believe I'm wrapping my coil too tight or too loose, and I know the wick is in contact with the filler so I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong here haha. I'm kinda new to using silica as I'm more of a genesis guy but I would love to get this thing running like it was when I received it!

How much fluff are you using ? Sometimes if your fluff is too dense it won't let the juice out of it fast enough to keep up with wicking.

Hi Perseas, count me in for a LUX X!! Will you be producing a LUX X Ring so the Heron can be used with it?
BTW, regarding the Heron and the gurgle problem...I have drilled out the center part of the bell using a 2.71 mm drill bit (slightly smaller than the suggested 2.95 mm) and the gurgle problem has vanished without sacrificing flavor or messing with the draw IMO. I am loving this atomizer and will provide a full review of both the Heron and PAPS V3 as soon as I get some time. Let me just say the combination of Heron / V3 is absolutely stunning...thank you Perseas for all your hard work, you and your team have raised the bar...again!!

An expert I don't claim to be, I have several spheroids that all work flawlessly this is what I do. I use slightly less than some recommend for fluff as I use 100% vg. I use a piece 1.5 x 2.0 inches then trim to base of the bell.
28g wraped on 3/32 drill bit I do a 4/3 wrap comes in at 0.8 ohm. The coil sits just above the screws.
I then take a 2.75 inch piece of snc and remove 1 strand loop over and pull thru coil. The loop is about the diameter of the spheroid.

It has been decided! My nickel and dime savings shall go toward a Lux X! Then I shall mix the tubes with my SS X and have a party! SS & LUX X tubes would give you a lot of choices aesthetically ^_^
