I have set the Heron up with dual and single micro to conventional and have used ekowool, silica and KGD Cotton(get some KGD cotton pads for wicking You will never go back!). I have always used fluff in all of my 10 builds and it is truly amazing.
Honestly, the fluffless build was introduced by some w_anker on ECF trying to be cute. He promoted it on fb and anywhere he could like he was splitting atoms, he was so proud of himself. He did much more harm than good.
Many of us tried to shut him down as we knew he was over his head.

Hey everyone it's the 'w_anker' checking in , hoping everyone is doing well.
There are a few sentences that I particularly like in this post. The one about 'promoted it anywhere he could' and 'was over his head' [sic] .
You're totally right Idaho , I posted my build in three places !!! Good thing I didn't post it in four places , you may have had unkind words about me then I hope you never post any build of yours for an atomizer in more than one place , people could come out of the woodwork to attack you for it behind your back
I'm also curious what being in over my head means. With whom exactly ??? Last time I checked there has not been any adverse affects from running my Heron without fluff.
But I think the best one is about doing harm. How exactly does setting up an atomizer differently induce harm? Harm in a physical sense , or harm in some sort of financial way ?? Harm to 'the community' perhaps ?? I'm willing to bet that the number of people using the Heron without fluff that totally love it that way (there are 100s I'm sure) far outweigh the number of people that have tried it and somehow been 'harmed' in the process.
Or maybe you mean harm to Perseas and Vapourart?? I highly doubt there has been a rash of people emailing them complaining that some guy on a forum once caused them grief over an alternate build because they tried it and hated it. Maybe there has been a rash of emails about it , but something tells me there hasn't been and if that's the case I apologize to Perseas personally for that.
The fact of the matter is the fluff less build would have happened within days of the Heron being released to the general public , I'm just the one that did it first. If that makes me a 'w_anker' who deserves to 'be shut down' then so be it. And if someone else had done it first Scott would still be using it that because thats the way he prefers it. The same thing goes with those hundreds of other people that prefer it with no filler. I know for a fact that many people have bought one for this reason that wouldnt have bought one otherwise, and I could take a pretty educated guess that not a single person has decided to NOT buy one because of an alternate build that they arent forced to use.
Nonetheless , this is my last post on any of the GP threads.
PS: I really admire and respect the vast majority of people in this thread and the GP Family. You are an amazing group of people and I've very much enjoyed my time here. I'll be talking to some of you in other places , just not here.

I told you guys, I would tell you about the pack of wolves we rescued...
There was a guy. He had a pack of wolves. The wolves were being held in a 'Foundation'. Yes, that is in quotes. His 'Foundation' was supposedly for wildlife educational purposes. BS! It was for money. The wolves were not being properly cared for. People noticed, and called the authorities. By the time we got wind of it, it was around 48 hours till the time the wolves were going to be taken by the State, and euthanized. Ugh! So, we decided we needed to rescue them. Therefore, we had about 48 hours to build a wolf sanctuary, and transport the wolves. I don't have what it takes, for a wolf sanctuary on my property. Way too much liability for my liking, that late in life. But, another family member went for it. So, we brought in a ton of people! We brought in wood, fencing, boulders, trees, etc.. We built one heck of a wolf sanctuary! Caves and all! Transported the wolves, and all was good!
Getting to know the wolves was interesting. I started, outside the fencing, for quite some time. Then, I starting going in with them. I took hundreds of pictures. They are beautiful! Again, like the lion, a fun thing. However, not particularly smart or safe. I had a blast with them. But, I did not trust them. I trusted the lion a great deal more. Over time, several family members, including my Mother-In-Law, were injured. But, it was due to their own stupidity. You have to have a healthy respect for wild critters, and accept them for what they are.

You know, I once knew a lady who had 2 Australian Dingoes (or is it Dingo's??). Or at least that's what she touted them as....Couldn't tell you why she had them or how she got them, but I came in contact with them many times.....They always seemed to be friendly towards me, but there was always a part of me that wondered if I should fully trust them....
This was a long time ago and I wish I had more info on how/why she had them....but yeah....it was interesting for sure!!

. Dingos are very cool. Much the same personality of the Australian Shepard's of the west. Many use them as farm dogs and they are everywhere here. The ones with different colored eyes tend to have me uneasy at times .
You crack me up because you think you know everything. Just so you can fix the notes you're apparently keeping these are my purchases since December : PAPS X and V3 and spare tube, Quasar and Raiju RDAs. All purchased with golf winnings and from selling stuff I didn't need anymore.
Oh and an R91 from a friend which my wife was fine with.
