I was being serious, and the pun was intended, lol. The screw in the switch was loose, which allowed the button turn past the locked position, and when you kept turning you disassembled the switch.

Cool! The piece, with the female square, screwed off too. Has anyone ever taken that piece off? Now that I put that piece back on, it won't budge. Good and bad. Bad, if you guys normally take that piece off when you fully clean your mods. There is a threaded center in there, and I was not sure how much threading to leave for threading that piece on. I guess I did it right. It is working.

Like I said, I don't know. :)

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, well, we already know that. I came out of that closet, a long time ago.

But, really, was that it? Has this happened to someone else? It must have come that way, because I have not yet fiddled with her. :)

Never had the issue , but I'll assume your contact screw was a little lose yeah

I love the lock on the X. Just remember you only need to turn it till it just makes contact, if you turn it too hard it will get a little stuck so to speak.

You posted that as I was typing the last one. Yes I most definitely take it out and clean it when it's bath time. Actually I clean my switch once every 3/4 days and the whole mod top to bottom once a week. Just screw it in until it goes in all the way and then putt your botton on , hold it in all the way and put your contact screw on.

But, when you clean her, do you take off the piece that has the 'female' square'? Under it, is a threaded center piece.

I do, I run all my stuff through an ultrasonic cleaner with a tiny bit of Dawn Ultra. Once it comes out I give it a good rinse.

I don't even use any sort of grease for the locking part in the switch. Once it is all assembled it's smooth as butter.

Stupid Q here... But I just got my Paps X and bought the X Ring as well. Bought the X Ring as a just in case I needed it after reading the posts in this thread...

What's the purpose of the X Ring?

Another followup question in regards to the X Ring.

The original part that the X ring replaces has an O ring. Am i supposed to remove that O ring and place on the X ring when using the X?

Hi Cucco, good answers so far. All threads in any device should be cleaned but, that can wait for your deep cleaning days. When you have time, normally I would suggest a nut diver, find a larger flat head screw driver that fits and unscrew it.
When clean screw the nut in all the way leaving a small amount of play in the nut. Just back it out 1mm to 1.5mm and continue the assembly of the switch.
The play in the nut will prevent clicking of the switch when depressed.
Hope this helps.
Sorry if I barged in. :)

"Raise"? "Bonus"? What are these words you speak of?

Okay. I will shut up, now. As of today, I got a raise. :) It's a piddly little thing and doesn't take effect for another 3 months but, hey, it's a tiny step towards the castle in the mountains overlooking the sea.

No. The o-ring is there to seal off the holes when using the AFC and to keep it held in place. It just stays on your AFC ring.

I really had no desire, to take her apart yet. :) Just happened, because of the 'locking' issue. When you clean yours, do you take the piece with the female part of the square off?

The X Ring is purely cosmetic if you don't need the AFC ring that comes stock on the X. It's to give it a flush look. The X converter ring on the other hand is what converts the X to 20x1 threading to use some atties in hybrid mode including the Heron.

BTW, this was in response to your previous question of "what's the purpose of the X Ring?"

I think my answer is no ma'am. Here is the farthest breakdown of the switch needs.
Sorry, bad pic. I'm in the middle of break time.
