Yes - makes sense. I was using it on a JustGG. Which is good for "air from the bottom" of the atty. Not so good with air from the side...

Glad you said that about a provari - I was nearly there for one of them.
Pleased to hear about the microstick though - waiting for the "got stock" email there...

Now - even off a mod completely - it's still too tight a draw. Where are people drilling to get more air? If you know the answer of course...

If the modless draw is too tight for you, then it isn't the mod. Looks like someone will be eyeing the Heron...

If you screw up drilling out the airhole, you can always buy a replacement 510 base cap. But I would not try it unless I was absolutely confident I knew exactly what I was doing. As someone who has worked with metal customizing PC cases, I can tell you I personally would not attempt this unless I already had a spare 510 base cap already on hand. And that's assuming that the base cap hole is the only part that need to be drilled out.

I somehow managed to get my top cap stuck on my mod. Its about halfway screwed on, and its stuck.

Its in the freezer now. 5 more minutes to go..

Tried a rubber band already. Won't budge.

I've only been on the GP thread for a few weeks. I've found Chadsmo to be one of the best contributors here. He's always willing to help anyone and everyone.
I remember the post your quoting and I believe it's being taken out of context. I don't know the man personally but I have not read anything to lead me to believe that he's a U.S. basher.
In fact everyone I've encountered in this section of ECF have been nothing short of great.
I think what makes this portion of ECF great is all of us are here for the same thing, our appreciation of GP products. I think I can speak for a majority of people here when I say no one is interested in turning this thread into a political debate or slamming other countries.
Just my my personal opinion.

It budges just like...1/8th a turn every 20 minutes of being in the freezer. I have about a full turn and a half to go, and currently no other mod right now :\

I'll probably use the Heron with the regular SS tank and fluff for the most part, but it's nice to have options

That's why I was so eager to figure out if builds without fluff could be used successfully. The tanks weren't super cheap and I had to know.

I'm going to put some fluff in the glass tank at some point too just to see how it looks with fluff and no topper , could be cool seeing your wicks and coil springing to life etc.

22.0mm x 1.0mm Quartz Custom Cut Tubes
I had them cut to 30mm in length , the same as the SS Heron tank.

I used that same glass to make a glass tank for the Prive Special. It is super thin.

ETA: Here it is bottom right. Cut to 30mm too. Same as the KirFanis Prive Special

Yup, only 1mm. I'm not sure I'll ever leave the house with it on there. We'll see.

SnP are 1.5mm. So if you thought those were thin, this custom glass from IBTanked is even thinner.

I will say though it's very nicely cut and finished. I got three tubes. I'm going to leave one as is, I'm going to frost the other one (i hope lol) and the other has a light gold swirl on it to use with the Lux tube.

If anyone is wondering, I did search for a glass with the same ID and thicker walls. I never found it. If anyone does find glass with 20mm ID and thicker walls please, please let me know.

yup. I'm treating it as a 50$ experiment right now. I kind of wish you didn't have to order a minimum of three tubes for the custom stuff.

Just got my spheroid. Finding the flavour to be good - but finding it a VERY tight draw.
I'm sure this has been covered more then once - but there are a LOT of messages here to trawl through.
I'm seeing one small air hole above the 510 thread. One hole below the wick. And three small holes inside the base cap.
Which - if any - of these should I tease open a bit?
Has anyone found a method (an easy method) to enlarge these holes without using an "actual" drill bit? 'Coz I don't have one

I like a looser draw too...So I drilled out the center hole (below the coil) and the two holes on the 510 connector. The center with a 1/16 or 1.58mm cobalt drill bit using a hand twist manual drill. The stainless steel requires patience with a hand drill but I prefer the control, and slow is better on stainless steel. The 510 holes were drilled out to 3/64" or 1.18 mm. It is a much looser draw without sacrificing flavor. I hope that helps

Ditto. My center hole = 1.5mm, 510's 1mm. I used a really long pointy diamond dremel bit on the very slowest speed. Checked hole sizes with known diameter blunt needles. Perfect draw for me now as well.
