I thought I would take a few pictures and add a comment or two of the most recent changes in the GP PAPS switch . I am intentionally leaving the V1 out of the pictures as they are rare to see these days.

As we all know, the GP Switches are the best in the business by many standards and the majority of high end mechanical users. They are coveted by many 20x1mm tube owners globally. I occasionally hang out with fellow PAPS lovers on Pedro's thread and am hit up often for extra switches for sale. I sent one to a good buddy and a friend and owner of GP mods for use on his Caravela. This to me was a great compliment to Perseas and GP. I will never convict Pedro for making bad switches as they are very well built, solid and I think Pedro is a good man and builder but, GP's switches are plain better and I love the GP Team.

There are a few here that may have seen the V1's (Brethren Blake did!) and a few that have been lucky enough to love the V2. The V2 time period confused the hell out of me learning to to lock the ring....lock the ring....lock the ring! I looooved the V2.1 switches and for the life of me could not remember to lock the device before setting down every time. I failed many times. I think this is why I got so good at wrapping coils.
If you remember the V2 switches you may remember the c clpis. I remember when cleaning the V2 actually pretending to be able to see them as they flew across the room or dropped when installing. I still have V2.1's

When the V2.5 plan was announced, I was in disbelief. I quickly purchased a First Class Ticket to Athens to Hug King P himself. Eventually he was tired of my hugs and asked George and Miro to make me stop, unfortunately with baseball bats...another story :).
I'll not forget when Perseas told us the new switch "passed the drunken test!". Soo funny and no more locking for me to remember.

When the LUX 2.5 switch hit my door step, pure love. This is when my GP switch hording came to life.
Many of us talked about them for days and days in amazement!

Now the V3 has taken over and we get to appreciate and love GP's forward thinking all over. I can not get over the V3 switch, so simple yet so detailed. I must have disassembled the V3 switch 10x or so for a look. How genius. Reverse locking switch so that it does not get tight while replacing the battery! Large machined brass post, brass spring, vent holes, smaller insulator, etc..
The feel of the new V3 switch is much like a fairy kissing a unicorns nose....sweet.

Here are a few pics for fun -

All said, I think the biggest take away from this post is the swift advancements GP produces. Always looking to improve their devices and move forward with care for their customers. There are other builders that stagnate and are complacent with their designs soon to fade into the ever changing world of Vaping while GP stays on top.

I didn't have a V1 but I can definitely sympathize with the V2 c-clip woes! I also had another version of the V2 switch that was in between the V2 in your pic and the V2.5 as it had a lock nut... but it kept loosening on me (switch would fall apart and the spring would SPROING out and get lost) and I eventually had to use loctite to keep it in place... but that means I hard a hard time getting it apart because the button would spin and it was hard to grip it without damaging it.

Things have definitely evolved!

What are y'all using for batteries? I am about to order some 490/500 and 650's in next couple of days or so. I have been using AW IMR 350's. Just wondering if your getting better results in GP's something different.
I apologize for not having a GP product in this pic....but these batteries are great!

Drove to town and to the office (after receiving some raised eyebrows from my girl) because I couldn't wait until Monday to get this!

Paps#56 and Heron#23 checking in!

The threading even better that I imagined and gpin is masterpiece ask its own! It's a work of art and I can't wait to clean it up and do my first Heron build! :)

Mahalo, P and Idabrah, for making my day. This is a most excellent birthday present to myself!

(That's quite a few exclamation marks.. I must be excited!)

I've really grown to love the flat top sony vtc4. Last 6-8hrs chain vaping. They sell out PDQ @ most places, though.

Excellent bit of history there, thank you. I can't get over how effortless the V3 fires. I was impressed with the V2.5, but now...wow, just wow. Hits every single time with just the slightest push.

Just don't casually rest it on your finger like I did last night …

Funkmaster P and GP recommend AW IMR's for all of their devices. I do as well.

Can't believe I got my heron more than a day ago and haven't had a chance to even open the package and admire it. Tmrw is the day. Setting my alarm for early to dig into it :)

Well I didn't have time to build it today as we are flying out early tmrw and had a lot of errands to run with my wife. At least I did unpack and give it a good bath. Looking fwd to putting it to use tuesday or wednesday when I return. Taking something new on a trip probably wouldn't be a good idea anyway...got to pack my mods and winter clothes....I hate packing.

Thanks for the schooling. With this being my first real encounter with a mech, I really don't know any better. I promise not to take mine for granted

Ahh, my pleasure. I really understand not taking It for granted. I don't either. It includes the whole experience. From the friends I have made, what I learn daily here and to the devices from GP.
How very cool is it that we have all been brought together by Perseas and GP and created this vaping family and a relationships from different corners of the globe. It's amazing to think about.

I know this is going to look like everyone else's v3/Heron post but I had to do it especially when everything is pristine and no character marks yet!

Built the Heron exactly like my Spheroid for my first build. 1.8 ohm, 30 awg microcoil with SnC loop. Flawless! GVC loaded up as well just to keep it all in the family...

This combo is totally amazing from the first puff and the AFC makes me especially happy (I change depending on my mood). :) The topper totally rocks as well!

Made a new Coil Setup today...

I call it the Chugging Train !

Pictorial follows ;)

Let me know what you think of this build. I tried this and found that flavor was lacking since the coils are so far off the deck/airhole. So far single coil builds have worked best for me.
