Quick story (off topic - warning to my ECF Family):
When I was 17, I was sued in a neighboring state. I worked very hard, and paid that debt off before I turned 18. In some states, if there is a civil judgment against you, you lose the ability to drive in that state. When I paid off the debt, the court system failed to notify the Department Of Transportation in that state. On Sunday, I am turning 54. I recently attempted to get a FL drivers license. I was turned down! Unbelievable! I have been a hard-working, law-abiding, successful woman! A year or so ago, they developed a national NDR database. I was flagged in that database! That means, if you owe(or they mistakenly think you owe) any money, in any state, you may be denied the next time you try to get or renew your driver's license. I have spent two weeks, many hours, and many calls attempting to resolve this. I think it was resolved today. The case was so old, they were not even able to retrieve images of the original documents. Since my license runs out on Sunday, I will have to take a cab to go and try for a license again on Monday. Who would have thunk? Ugh!
