...yeah that's what you two do with your forks...... Jojo and I will be using our forks to decorate our Christmas tree this year.
Had a little meltdown tonight
Got the SSX back working and took it out with me tonight to the beach. Got back to the room and set it down for a while, came back and the X was so hot I couldn't touch it. juice was leaking pretty good since it was so hot and think I may have ruined a good VTC5 as well. It was in 650 mode with a Sphero on top so I don't think the weight was causing it to auto fire.
Checked it with the meter and even in locked position there was just a little bit of current flowing through it. 4.1v went down to 3.65v pretty quick it seems.
There was some roughness on the M4 switch screw from using too small of a screwdriver to tighten it back up. Don't have my tools this trip so I had to improvise. I got the top of the screw smoothed out now and it looks like it's ok. Gonna keep checking it and hope it's cured. I'll have to replace the screw once I get home tomorrow night.
Last two trips were on the east coast and I brought all kinds of gear that I didn't need. Packed light for this trip and sure as .... I needed things I didn't have

Thought I would leave this here. It is a great example of the political arena in which we are governed.
A 77 year old congressional member making statements like he has is dangerous.
I am willing to bet that he has never in his political career fought this hard against Big tobacco or the health for the human race in general.
I wish for his good health and life, only death to his political career.

Wow! I just can't catch up on this thread. Got back from Kauai late on Wednesday and managed to get through 20 pages or so and finally gave up. Only to find that today is a Vapourday! Oh Lord! I'm committed. Heck, I should have known. After all I am in the asylum already.
It was great to see all of the TI madness. I was fortunate enough to get my TI. What a piece of art. Yankeebobo described it perfectly. Right now I have a Kayfun on it but it will get replaced once I get a chance to rewick and refill by Erlkonigin. Talk about a light weight unit. Wow.
BTW, I am not a fan of going in the water. Pools and beaches are not my thing. But being on Kauai for week one learns about beaches. Many, many beaches. Cuccoo, you must go to the beach! I hope you're feeling better.
Glad to see everyone on the bench got their TI. Also happy that Yankeebobo didn't trample anyone on his TI quest. Great show of restraint Yankeebro!
And finally, thank you Perseus for such a great device, and business model. I took 4 Paps-X's with Herons with me on the trip. No maintenance other than refilling for the entire week. I couldn't help while walking the beaches in Kauai thinking of how many companies could learn how to conduct e-business from your model. There is nothing else like it. You should write a book.

Regarding the cleaning of brass bits...
Would the baking soda/Alu foil & hot water method suggested for the silver plated posts also be appropriate for the brass? or would that be a bad idea? I took 4 years of chemistry in college, but it was a few years ago [emoji12]

Indeed! Quite excited about the mixed-edition Spheroids, and the return of the SS v3s.
I never thought I would be this excited about buying just the tubes. Lol. Need that SS X 500 tube and a V3 SS 650 tube. Oh, and the silver plated Heron spares. I'm just glad we'll have a month break so I can save up for the September VD hopefully pick up a Lux X to complete my X Family.

It has happened to me a few times in lesser degree due to condensation trapped under the insulator, albeit the incident with the dry switch, I can't explain it.

While on the subject of the firing switch.
Would it be possible to make a small modification to its function?
Might only be me (or maybe other left handers), but the button "spins" while I'm firing it. Eventually, getting to the "off" safety position. If there were a "click" as it arrives into the "on" or firing position, and equally another click as it gets to the "off" or safe position it should get rid of this spinning oddity?
The button could still rotate as it does now, but with a small cam type function at either end of the travel?
I might not have explained this very well? But, with any luck, I've explained it well enough that you understand the issue of the button spinning involuntarily...

I know exactly what you're describing. Same thing happens to me and I'm right handed. That's another reason I don't turn mine completely to the on position. Interesting idea you proposed tho...just enough of a notch or click to stop it from spinning...hummm
So when you unlock your switch you don't feel it getting locked into place where when you try to lock the switch it almost feels like it's a little stuck, but it's not? My V3s do this as well and always stays is the unlocked position.
Going back to yesterdays fiasco...make sure you adjust your nut
to give you this "locking" effect. See my post from yesterday.
