My one year is also soon arriving. That's a great idea: new toys for our one years from GP.
Congrats Cucco! Like Nach said...time to treat yourself to a X Lux. [emoji6]

My one year is slowly approaching. Dec. 6th is my 1 year and hopefully in Dec. King P will release a new toy for me to celebrate with. [emoji14]

Sitting here waiting on the mail lady myself. That 2.5 SS should be here today :)
Dude also said he threw in some spare switch and contact parts.
Waiting on my Chihuahua alarm system to go off when the mail gets here...

Good Morning GP Family!

Very anxious about the Paps and Heron arriving today!

More anxious to see the new Piccolo when it arrives!

Hey All It's Here!!

The Paps is excellent, a couple of very small scuffs on the tube, but nothing that can't be taken care of. As long as I'm careful not to remove the serial or GP logo!

The Heron raises a couple of questions though. First I believe it's a V1, I'm assuming this simply because the air inlet in the base is 3 holes. All of the 1.5's I've seen had a slot for adjustment, the same size as the ring. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, it came with 2 bells or top caps. Forgive my ignorance, but why? I see the difference in the end, but I'm unsure of the purpose.
The second item, can the positive post be replaced with out needing an entire base? It would appear that it may not have been well maintained and the previous owner was vaping with the cavity above the g-pin full of fluid. The g-pin can be cleaned easily, but the nut that holds the positive post is corroded and I am unsure of how far the pin is supposed to be above the nut.
I did check the On-line Store but did not see them, just hoping to not lose my investment.

Thanks All!

The two bells was definitely v1. The first bell has a chamfer in the stem that actually made juice spit so Perseas and team replaced it with one that was straight all the way through for free. If you look up the stem you can probably see what I mean. It's hard but noticeable. As far as the spare positive post I'm sure a pm to P will solve that for you no prob.

Yer funny jr.:)
I think I've already celebrated the anni around 4 months ago with a Heron and 2 months ago with a Spheroid. On the other hand, should the much loved and awaited Piccolo show up, it might be hard to resist to sit beneath the Spheroid.

Do eeeett!
My 1 yr anni gift to myself was the Ti. Sometimes you just gotta say WTH :)

I'm not sure what tutorials you were referring to, darksparkle. I usually let my lux mods patina - I think the patina is beautiful. I polish them (Cape Cod clothes) every now and again when the mood strikes - maybe every couple of months. It's a bit like having a new mod :)

I bought new Herons, and a very shiny new lux X converter to go with them. Because the X converter was shiny, that was the incentive to polish my lux mods for a photo. They have already started to patina again.

I didn't reply to your post (maybe others did not either) because it was not clear to me what you were asking. Tutorials for doing patina on mods, tutorials for removing patina from mods, tutorials for protecting patina on mods or from getting a patina on them, etc.

Personally I let mine patina naturally because I am not a fan of fingerprint magnets at all, and the LUX tubes are just that without a patina on them. I don't like wraps, so no way would I put a wrap (clear or otherwise) on any of my PAPS. I just use them with patina that is not protected. I do however remove the patina now and then with Cape Cod cloths and let them patina again naturally.

One of my extra LUX tubes is slated to get chemically forced patina one of these days though, at it will have to be protected with an automotive clear coat after. Depending on the grade of alu-bronze they are, they can be up to 80% copper that should patina well chemically. What I'll be shooting for...
