I'm just in hibernation until the Piccolo is available

@anavidfan No need to go into details, I think we've all been there in one form or another. It's just a matter of holding on until the rain clears. Hold that PAPS X tight and weather the storm, my friend! I look forward to seeing you back here regularly :D

Many of the ringleaders and regulars have been mostly or completely absent from the forum for many weeks now. That total lack of support to the so called “GP family” and to Perseas could be called appalling. Even the last VapourDay didn’t generate as much chatter on the forum as they usually do. Regardless, forum banter feeds on forum banter, and that has been in very short supply here. When folks are not posting much there is also not much for folks to respond to. Mostly gone are the constant questions and help discussions about the gear, or other things. Mostly gone are the happenings in personal lives and even just the chit chatting that used to take up to pages on the forum sometimes. All of them are part of being a so called family. So why is the forum mostly silent? A larger part is those missing IMO. Some of it might be because there are folks that are not topic starters, but rather choose to contribute to those that were started by others. Another possibility… when someone starts a topic and it gets very little or no response, it’s just human nature not to bother starting another. Add it’s a fact that some folks have already bought all the GP gear currently available they will ever need. Maybe they’ll come back when new models become available from VapourArt, but some that fade away probably will not. This forum needs more of the prime movers back, or a rash of brand new ones.

I’m guilty of not stopping in everyday any more for various reasons, some I have little control over, but also including a couple of those suggested above. So I have been limiting my computer time, and spending it where I get the most enjoyment out of it.

I'm still around almost daily, lurking for the most part. I think it's a bit unfair to say that those who have not been around lately are exhibiting a "total lack of support", I mean, life does happen after all. This is the only thread that I am active in, if you can call me active, and that's because I see this group as more of a family than "so called". Just my :2c:. :)

My gear is all set right now at least until the release of the Piccolo and I'm a little hesitant on that since my Herons get far more use than my Spheroids these days (although sticking a v3 switch on the microstick may revive that). :)

I'm really not very active to begin with but since I'm set for gear I have been dabbling with DIY with mixed results and that has been the majority of my vape budget these days!

I'm here too and read the thread most every day. We've been very busy. My wife is studying for the California State Bar Exam and I've been the primary caretaker of the kids while running my solo law practice. Fall came and I think folks schedules changed. My GP mods are used every day and I look forward to the Piccallo and a Spheroid. I haven't had a 14000 mod before and am excited about trying one out. I do hope all are doing well and that the regulars continue to share.

It’s not the best picture, but here is the cream of the crop of my collection:

    1558D28C-3C21-4B86-9E13-12CEF57327F1_zpspv3uusxl.jpg

That, my friend is an absolutely beautiful photo! And what a great collection!

I, myself am so very grateful and really enjoying my SS V3 that I bought recently from Blake. But I really have to say that my X is my all-time favorite. On the other hand I have been carrying my Lux 2.5 to work with my every day for the last few months and it has a perfect patina. I love that it looks shiny even with the dark patina. They are all works of art!

:) Sounds like we've almost all been here, but lurking. That's fine. Personally, those who know me know I'm not a big talker. But, I'm always there. It's obvious that when help or advice or solace is needed it will be provided. Nice.

And Perseus, I think you understood that my comment about banishment was meant in jest, and certainly not pointed in your direction. But, just wanted to make sure.

It's shaping up to be a fantastic vapemail week. Two 100ml bottles of yaeliq to try arriving tomorrow, and the cherry on top a used lux x arriving Thursday.

I've been trying to fight off the lux x for quite a while. I don't need another mech, but it'll be nice to have a 23mm mech home for my Squape v1's.

This thread used to fly by, it's a much more manageable pace to keep up with now.

You are right! I used to come home after a day or two and have 50+ pages of posts. Sometimes it was 100+ pages!! I simply ended up skipping past 85% of them.

That could also be a possible reason why it has slowed down, because there was so MUCH conversation going on we had a buffer filled up and now that buffer of discussion has been depleted. lol

Anyways, I'm always here lurking.... The guy who responds only really when I answer a question I know the answer too and also don't usually post unless I have something profound to say. :p

I haven't been a member of the family for long, but I do lurk daily.
I am currently waiting on my order of KGD and some ceramic X-wick I am looking forward to trying in my Spheroid and Heron.
They are both currently clean and waiting the new wick.
I sent P a message and he is helping with a new positive post for the Heron V1 I purchased but things got hectic and I haven't had a chance to place the order yet, sorry P!
I haven't forgotten this place as my plan is to purchase more as finances allow.
Personally I can see myself owning only GP products in the future.

    So Hello GP Family!

Hello my friends...I had one of those questions looming around in my head and I would seek out an explanation!! I use mech mods and regulated(Provari) about half and half or thereabouts. Correct me if I'm wrong but on a mech mod, the most battery strength you can get is 4.2 volts and whatever the amperage is for that battery so your coils become a much bigger "player" to achieve wattage, correct? With a regulated mod like the Provari, you can start out with a 1.8ohm coil and go beyond 4.2v as long as your battery and mod can handle the amperage/wattage, correct?
I was just trying to get it in my head when I am switching between mods and finally decided to run my lower ohm coils....1.2-1.5 on mech and 2.0 ohm coils on provari. I thought I understood ohms laws but just making sense logically in my head makes me want to think that with a freshly charged battery at 4.2 volts is the most power I can push and then it relies on low ohm coils and double check that my battery can handle the amperage, correct?as much as I love the mech mods and that first hour or so of pure raw power, it drops in voltage!! The regulated mod does maintain same voltage throughout the battery life as I see that to be only advantage, do you?
I will continue to use both but wanted to be sure my reasoning made sense!! Thanks for any input!!
P.S. I may post this in a couple threads to get different feedback!

Sounds like you've got a pretty good grasp on it. For my mechs, I build my coils for the lowest voltage I will run my batteries, which is generally 3.6-3.7 volts. Example: I like to vape around 11-12 watts, so I will build my coils at around 1.2 ohms. That way, when the battery is getting low, I still have an adequate vape. A fresh battery maybe a little hot, but that doesn't last long.

Yep! I totally understood the spirit, my post was just a clarification for future readers :)

For me, the difference between a regulated and a mechanical mod is more about the taste than everything else. Different ways to regulate the current can affect the flavour. I consider my old Darwin gives more "clear" taste than my Provari. I find very good the DNA 20, DNA 30, kick2, but I still prefer to vape with non regulated mods. With them I feel the taste to be less altered, maybe all these are my subjective impressions to vape my GVC. DNA 40 might be a game changer in this field regarding taste, but I haven't tried it yet.

    Lately around here...

I bought a bunch of new liquids to try out and am liking some of them. The biggest surprise was I actually found what will be three new ADV's out of them, a couple of others that have promise to be the same once aged and the always present no's. The new liquids is a part of my trying to change my vaping style in the sense that I am breaking away from rotating 10-12-20 different liquids every day. So I am working on getting down to maybe 3-4 per day that will be all that is vaped in a 24 hour period... then different ones the next day and so on in rotation. It's going pretty good. In part maybe because the ones I am liking are all very strong flavors that are very different from each other yet I don't have to use a palate cleanser between them to avoid VT. And an added bonus is only using 3-4 PV's a day instead of having 10-12 and a bunch of extra atty's going every day. Makes for much less clutter in the way and it ill be way less upkeep when it comes time to clean them. Most of my premade liquid's are in 30ml bottles, but some are 60ml and 100ml. Now I may have a good enough excuse to start getting some in up to 500ml size if they are available.

Spydro I too rotate many flavors thru the day... I have tried very hard to bring it down to three but my taste buds get bored fast..so I stick to five....it sounds excessive but if I chose to vape over smoking a cig I think all is good!

I usually only rotate between two - a dessert and a tobacco. Yesterday was Bryce's Banana Pudding & Nicoticket H1N1, today it's Vapewell Hive & Bionic Vapor's Custard Assault (best substitute for GVC I've found, but still not quite as good - it will get me through a couple months while my 200mL of Grants steeps:)).

I keep the tobacco in my RSM, and my custards in my Spheroid. Once I get in some batteries that I can use with my Vapor Flask (this damn thing has terrible battery tolerance) I'll be able to start dripping again and I'll add a 3rd liquid to the rotation...
