I have tested toilet paper as wick material. It's a no go.

Oh dammit. That was the funny taste.

No... No it wasn't.

You're not supposed to use the remnants, bud... Especially from the can (either of them). Only a fresh square from the organic kind. You pay more for it, but the aloe insulates the fibers and helps prevent burning and allows for greater wicking. Get the kind from Japan. It's best... only $32 shipping!

I absolutely adore the PnB.

The things it has done for me, and the amount of rotations its taken in my drill without a scratch on it....just a wonderful tool.

Its made atties look new, changed finishes, and shined the patina off of my copper devices all without fail.

If someone knows about the PnB, and does not own it, they really need to consider buying one. I cannot be without now.

It's funny, all my life, I lived near a beach. As an adult, I was a workaholic, so I never took the time to go. Then, I retired here to Florida. I live very near the beach. Due to driving(neurological) issues, I have never been there. That is crazy! It is now on my to-do list! Splurge, and take a cab to the beach! :)

I don't know where you all have been. I've been using Wonder Bread for wicking. That way when it's time to re-wick you can just use the old one as a snack. It will be a nice toasty tasty treat. :p

I just spent a while reading the whole Ti wire thing, and all I can say is why all the "health warnings" and fear mongering? Why not just say, here is a new material, benefits: we find it heats up faster, may last longer as its ti and ti is known for being more resistant to oxidation and breakdown etc. Fires up faster, lower resistance per foot compared to kanthal etc , etc, etc. Might be healthier etc....

WHy is it that like all things from that thread it has to use the "fear" of death if you dont use it? And like always when those that dont blindly embrace the "words of their leader" and ask for evidence then it all goes to hell and the ugliness starts, deletion of posts and general dissidence starts. Its always the " Im the innovator of all things and all others are wrong, and my products have no fault what so ever."
