I haven't used it in a long time since I've moved away from submersible atomizers, but I found this great thread and used the schematics from the linked Instructables article in the first post to build my own zapper for under $25: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/367095-resistance-no-resistance-wire-welder.html

I have minimal knowledge of electronics but I'm decent at soldering and I was able to build one without problems. It worked pretty well with the 32awg Kanthal and nickel that I was using.

My zapper works likes shti! Or maybe I'm just doing something wrong. But its been the worst $85 I've ever spent in vaping.

The Zapper V2 is so easy to use right out of the box that I'd have to suggest that you are either doing something wrong or the unit itself has something wrong with it. The only learning curve to absolute excellance welding with it is learning what to set it for to get the best weld for the wire gauges you are welding together (although if you are even within the right ball park plus or minus somewhere that is plenty close enough)..... and getting a parallel over lap for a secure/conductive weld. Hardest part for me with old eyes that don't see small so good anymore was getting the eyes and hands on the same page, and that only took a couple of tries to get a system that worked for me just fine. I improved on it greatly soon after by tension wrapping my micro coils before I welded on the NR tails. The welds and the coils have held up rock solid despite many wick changes for months.

Wow! do you live on a golf course? I'd be fishing that pond.:)

Haha, no it's a bike path that leads to the Chicago Botanic Gardens. In front of me is their Japanese Garden. There actually is a Golf course behind me. There are a lot of fishing ponds around this area but this on is closed off from fishing but some people sneak in and do it anyway.

Good Morning, Spydro. I saw this in the backyard the other day:

Morning Bill. It's an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilionidae: Papilio glaucus) female yellow form (there is also a female black form)... and she looks to still be slightly gravid. So if you've got any of the many larval food plants they use in your yard or close by, she may have laid a few eggs. The green to greenish yellow eggs would be laid singularly on the underside of mainly branch terminal leaves that she could get to and would support her weight or at least allow her to flutter land while curling her abdomen under the leaf tip to lay. They'll turn dark brown to black just before hatching. Their larvae are polyphagous and use a fairly long list of plants... such as wild cherry, willow, cottonwood, ash, birch, tulip tree, sweetbay magnolia, sassafras, maple, apple, basswood, etc.

First time posting in this thread. I have been a long time fan of GP Gear and was finally able to score myself a LUX. It arrived in record time. I spent the day with it at home yesterday and thought I would take it out today.

A PAPS LUX on the roam in Texas....

Welcome, to the " Casa de Locos" and speaking of "locos" how do you guys manage to keep your beauties from not falling. Ive seen quite a few "out and about" photo shoots where the MODs are literally teetering on the edge....... It puts me on the edge of my seat :p)

Those are both securely "propped" on the carvings. The only mod that I have the dropsies with is my Billet Box, the new one, that is supposed to be easier to hold on to, and less of a fingerprint magnet @.@.

Hi all. Sorry if this was posted before. Just didn't want to sift through 300+ pages to find out. What resistance is everyone running on their Paps V3 in 18650 mode? What is the lowest resistance the mod can handle? I have a V3 with lux internals: silver plated gpin and negative pin. I usually run a AW 18490 with a kick 2 + kayfun lite + .8 resistance. I wanted to know if it was safe to run a Origen V2 with a .5 resistance and VTC5's. Thanks!

I have been running my new LUX V3 in 18650 with VCT5 at .4 on my Leak Boat, other wise known as Tug Boat.

    Only for two days though.
