Dusting a town with powder to reduce evaporation. Are there any words to describe just how that even freakin sounds?

Really....... Im no expert, but logically , 1- the moisture/ water will evaporate no matter what powder, clay, mud, mulch etc. Just a waste of time, money and everything will be dusty, dirty etc.

2-If they use any powder/dust that actually retains water, such as those gels they use in diapers or those premixed soil that has gel, etc. dusting a whole town will result in the "powder" ending up in a lot of things that should not have moisture/ water, such as our respiratory system/ lungs, sinuses. Heck even talc has been found to be cancer causing if inhaled or if it ends up in other areas of our body.

Lets not forget our micro inhabitants, such as insects.... We are losing our bees and other pollinating friends. THen there is the water system itself, it will all end up in our oceans and water supply.....

I'm good, Idabro! I finally broke down and bought those nylon jawed pliers from Garrett Wade. Freezer wasn't working, and I hate not having the right tool for the job...

That's what I hear :)
I'm glad. I hear MB has a new Chalice on the way soon. How's your mother? Your a good woman.

I've been to Chicago alot [my son lives there] and this does not look like the Chicago I've been to.

Millions of tourists come here each year that never see or realize that we have many old ranch estates in what is now the middle of the city. The ranches were on the surrounding desert or edge of the city when they were built back in the 50's/60's. I live in the middle of one of those areas that still has many of the old larger ranches, smaller ranches and some newer residential neighborhoods built where old ranches once stood.

One such remaining larger 36 acre ranch is about a block south of my place. It had been Wayne Newton's Casa de Shenandoah ranch since the 60's where he kept up to 50-60 of his Arabian horses with something like 40 stables and acres of space for them to roam, a horse pool, and a host of other birds and animals. The place has 8 homes counting the main 12K square foot home built in the early 50's, waterways, a private jet, air terminal/runway, a long line of classic car garages and all right in the heart of Sin City. But the financial and legal problems that have plaqued him for decades forced him to sell it, and he blocked the plans to turn it into a sort of Newton's "Graceland" Museum. Asking for it last summer was $70 million and included the jet... later it was lowered to $48 million but who knows what the Texas family who bought it actually paid for it. They spent $20 million remodeling it though, and renamed it. As for Mr. Las Vegas, he now lives about a block and a half east of me in another smaller mansion, but has already secured other homes and acreage around it as he starts to rebuild another "Casa de ?" for his family.

Thought I'd introduce myself too as a long time lurker & short time member on ECF. I have benefited greatly from much of the expertise here, but never participate.

Thanks to akdare's persistence in plugging GP products on another forum, I have a pair of Spheroids & one Heron..... so far.

I think my next GP purchase will be a Paps as it just seems the thing to do.

One question I have is whether the Spheroid V3 base cap will likely be available as a spare part in the future?

Welcome buddy :)

We'll make a spare 510 bottom cap v3 when we open again.
Throw us an email at info@vapourart.com in September and we shall help.

Welcome to you as well! I would suspect they will be available as time passes and production ramps back up in Sept.
King P says he is on vacation but, my guess is that he will read your post, drive to the shop and produce a run just for you :). I'm telling you he is like a Ninja. Ninja P.

This is how I am told things happen!

No immediate hurry, but I clumsily damaged the 510 threading on one. It cleaned up well with a die, but in time it would be nice to leave it as the designers intended.

Welcome buddy :)

@nisam, I rest my case and all agree that there is no place or person like our GP home and Perseas.

Hey guys! Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

I haven't been able to check in as often over the last few days as my step-daughter has been competing in the ISI (International Skating Institute) World Championship of Figure Skating. Every year they hold this event all over the world (this year it's in the Boston area) and it's a huge ordeal! She is 8 going on 9, but she's really good for her age! She competed for 3 days (Thurs, Fri and Sat), and she did really well! She competed in several different events, but in her "main event" which is called her "Spotlight", she skated to "Fly me to the moon" by Frank Sinatra! She came in 3rd out of 10 skaters from all over the world! In her group were kids from China, South Africa and Europe (and some other places I'm not thinking of ATM).

All in all it was a very fun event! Olympic skater Ashley Wagner was there, along with several other famous people in the figure skating world. My wife (who's an ex-figure skater herself) volunteered all 3 days as an "ice captain", and they're in charge of getting kids on/off the ice. Today we are all exhausted as it was 3 long days of competition!! So we're just hanging in taking it easy......

Anyway hope everyone's doing well! Oh, and welcome nisam!! :)

Need some help....I have the GP Lux 2.5 and also the Gpin top cap that I'm selling. I was asked if it is the 20 x 1 threading and I don't know what that means. Can anyone help with that question? I've got to head to church but will check back when I get home. Thanks in advance..
Tammy, Yankee answered that question in your ad, but yes, it is the 20 x1 threading. :)

Well, today is Spheroid day for me! :)

I am going on the road for work again this week (heading down to Dallas then Salt Lake City), so I want to make sure my Spheroids are ready to go with me! I am cleaning all of them out and recoiing/rewicking them. Up till now for some reason, I never got creative with my builds in the Spheroid. I have always done 4/5 wraps of 30ga Kanthal around a piece of 2" silica. But today, I decided to try a 28ga. micro coil around a 5/64" drill bit which came out to 1.4 Ohms. I then wicked it with Cellucotton (thanks Wildvet!!)....it is vaping WAY better than my previous build with the silica! I am going to mirror this build in the other 2 Spheroids for sure.....looking forward to taking them on the road with me! :)

So seeing as I am trying to buy my first GP mod.. What am I looking for... PAPS X V1.5....or a PAPS V3...The switches, I kinda can see the difference in photos but what is the real preference as far as feel and action between the 2 ? Then there is the Lux or SS option.. 1 friend says SS all the way and another says the Lux body hits harder due to the material its made from.. any opinions? Help..

I love all of my gear but sometimes just look around and see too many beautiful mods not getting used, so I'll thin the herd slightly (not much). I can't believe our youngest son's wedding is just two weeks away and the new grandbaby due any day...it's been a crazy summer for us but things should slow down pretty soon.

I don't think that you can go wrong with either. I prefer LUX to SS for the aesthetics and more conductive aluminum bronze. If you have a preference for recessed switches or 22mm mods then go for the Paps v3. You need to buy individual tubes for the Paps v3 but the Paps X comes with all extensions. Both have the GPin which is great. The Paps v3 offers a seamless look with 22mm atomizers but everything looks good on the Paps X and it has a nice weight and balance in the hand. The Paps X had been my favorite mod for months but now that I'm using my Paps LUX v3 as my daily carry it may be edging it out for first place. I didn't care for the Paps v3's notched button at first, but it has grown on me and it's very distinctive. The action on both mods is great. I've never had a misfire on the Paps v3.

Good question , Riverboat...... Ive often wondered the same thing. I know that solidity in construction is important, and that certain metals are more conductive, etc.

I know that some people have made MODs from simply using a 510 connection wired to the battery and a contact to etc and with out a tube or case and it "works" How well it does, well.....

To me logic tells me that the contacts between the button to the battery and then the contact to the atomizer are the most important in good performance, good contacts , less interruptions etc. Logically if those points are well made then technically any material could be used to house the battery......

Those are the technical points , but we know that there is more to a good performing device...... I know from experience that the outer casing does affect things, for example telescopic vs solid tubes or in the case of the X segmented but amazingly threaded tubes. The case does come into play and does become a travel path of electricity.

There is a big resurgence of all copper and brass and I wonder if they really do affect the power. Though I like the look of the copper and brass, I love stainless steel and prefer it, not just in looks, but for the obvious maintenance needed to keep it up.

Does letting the materials patina affect conductivity? I would assume one does not let the threads patina.....

Interesting subject......... I hope we can get a good discussion going, I know there have been some in other threads, but that usually ends up with a lot of heated banter.
