The v3 doesn't have a pin to unscrew. It self adjusts with the internal spring in the gpin. Hopefully you got two top cap pins of different lengths. If you disassemble the gpin from the insulator and insert the slightly longer pin, it will eliminate the rattle with 18490 batteries -which is my usual setup.Greetings to all. I just picked up a GP Paps SS v3 18500 in a trade last night and I must admit I'm totally over the moon with this. Very, very happy vaper here. A quick question for you all to get me started. Without going through all the posts in these threads could someone please recommend the ideal battery to use. I'm using an AW 18490 button top right now and have a slight rattle with this set-up. I tried unscrewing the pin and it wouldn't fire when it was tightened up with no rattle. I appreciate any help here. I'm due to replace my 18490's anyways so best ones to get?

Oh damn! I forgot I needed to buy a couple of these top caps! These will be available on the next VapourDay, I assume?
Welcome, Cooper!! Glad you're here!
I think I might know what he did P, as I did the same thing when I first got my SS V3 (I too didn't realize about the longer pin....).....I think he slightly unscrewed the GPin "retaining ring" that holds the actual pin in place which would add length to the pin.....
Hopefully he has a spare (longer) pin though!!
Welcome! I have a few pins from Lord P that I have been sending out. Feel free to pm your address and I will be sure to get you taken care of.That's exactly what I did. I swapped mods with a fellow vaper late last night and I haven"t had much time to really look into anything. Today as well was a crazy running around day and now it's over and time to sit back and find out what I can. I don"t know if he has the extra pin, hopefully he does. Can one purchase the pin separately or is buying the whole assemble required?
I really appreciate the warm welcome and the answers. And yeah, you guys seem like a friendly bunch. I'll be hanging out here more often for sure.

I'm really glad you are enjoying it. It only gets better from here.
Perseas, I noticed the description on your site for the flat top caps said it comes with both the brass and silver gpins. Is that correct?
Hello my GP Family!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I hope everyone has a great week!
BTW #1: Have I mentioned lately?... I love and appreciate my GP Family, and my Xs!
BTW #2: I actually have some vapemail coming. A rare occurrence. I have a couple of these coming..

Welcome cooper to the GP family!
Another vapour day on Thursday? Anything special?
This is absolutely ridiculous. TWO Vapourdays in one month? Perseas is syncing these up so that they come the week after my paycheck. It's like he knows.
Thankfully I got everything I wanted last time. Just parts this time (I like stocking up so I have them before I need them) and maybe a fixed length PAPS X 18500 tube.
On another note, I've been having couple of issues and I hope you guys can help me out:
1) I received my PAPS and Heron last week, and finally managed to pick them up Saturday. I made about 7 builds on the Heron with 28 gauge, 30 gauge, and the included ribbon wire but everything tasted burnt. Just before I took it apart last night I started to get some normal flavor and I'm going to try a microcoil + cotton build today to see how that works. Any tips on avoiding burnt flavor on the Heron? I've got the Spheroid down pat and figured the Heron would be the same thing - I was wrong apparently.
Maybe your fluff is too tight and not releasing the juice? When you say "burnt", is your wick dry when you open it up? I run a micro + KGD with perfect results.
2) Can I use the Heron without the chamber top cap without sacrificing flavor? After my first rebuild Saturday night I took it off and put it to the side, haven't tried again with it. Thought it may have been partially at fault for the burnt flavor, but it wasn't. I'd like to put it back in as I think the tighter chamber will improve flavor. Right now I"m running the Heron like a fat Spheroid.
Yes. The top cap was designed to hold a cotton wick because they tend to go limp, but that being said, I run KGD without the top cap.
3) The PAPS v3 switch. I love, and may have been spoiled by, the PAPS X switch. The v3 switch just doesn't compare, in my opinion. Running hybrid with the above Heron I have to unscrew the Heron first because if I do not the locking ring will engage tightly and I won't be able to unlock it without taking it off the mod. And when I try to unlock the locking ring my switch ends up unscrewing, too. The locking and unlocking take more force than the actual switch takes to stay affixed to the body so I end up taking off my switch every few times I unlock it for one reason or another. After several turns to lock/unlock the screw starts coming loose and the mod will fire when left on the table. I don't want to overtighten the screw so I just use my thumbnail. Works fine on the PAPS X, apparently isn't tight on the V3. Any way to adjust this so that I can replace batteries without unscrewing my atty and lock/unlock without taking the switch out or getting it stuck?
After a little time the locking ring will break in and you should be able to lock and unlock with a pinky flip. That's my experience anyway.
I think I need a 20x1 X switch in my life!
