This is nice. I tried it out and worked just fine for me. I barely had to use any force (as long as I remove the atty, first, since I don't torque the switch much when I install. Easy peasy!

It is a nifty method, although it can be tough to apply pressure on the button and hold it in place and there is the potential to cut yourself if you're not careful. Nonetheless, I really like this method and will definitely employ it. I'm not sure why there's any difference when re-assembling the button as this method is only needed to remove it, and you must have super-human Canadian lumberjack strength if you're worried about deforming the 316SS locking ring. ;)

Many years ago, I was very much into alternative/natural/holistic medical practices. Somewhere along the way, life got crazy, and I lost my way. When I moved here, I chose a holistic internist. She was a mixture of many approaches. And, she was 'open' to anything I might want to try. She disappointed this past year+, with my issue with chronic internal shingles from hell. But, she helped me greatly with some prior issues. And, I really liked her. She was murdered a couple of weeks ago. She had a husband, and two little girls. So very sad. :(

I need a new doctor. :(

BTW: Hello my GP Family! Have I mentioned lately.. How much I love my GP Family and my Xs? :)

Dear respected Sir, it is an 'opinion', of mine ~ and only time can verify it's tenability. But, I'm sticking with it ~ and the screwdriver.

Stan, if you or anybody else is able to bend or deform our locking rings with just their fingers, I definitely want to see it!

Thanks for the responses. I will order my usual 18490's and hope with the 18500 tube with the new Paps that I will not have any issues. I haven't had any issues with v3 Paps as far as pins, springs, rattles, etc. !!

The GP PAPS 4 has no issues in any mode. The discussion was about the combination of a switch v4 with a 18350 v3 tube and Heron in 201 connection without the top cap and using a 18490 AW battery. Only in this specific case a longer pin is needed which will be produced shortly.

But I'm still sticking with my screwdriver :)

This is the recommended method, I just want to be clear: nobody can bend the locking rings of our mods with bare hands, unless he is superhuman.

ABSOLUTELY Morover, I tend to get better battery life out of my Paps-4 than any other mod, including my V3. I don't understand why / how ~ b'coz internals of both are silver plated - and rest of the materials are same as well.

@perseas I would like a silver coated switch spring for the v4. Is it possible for VapourArt to do this?
That'd be cool, but I think unnecessary.
The important contacts are the pins and GPin spring. They are already silvered.
If plating the switch spring made any real difference, I'm fairly certain it would have been done.
Enjoy your V4. I'm rockin' with mine!
:)

It would be useful for me. I'd just like to know if its something I could purchase.
Don't understand why it would be useful, but that's your biz, not mine.
My suggestion:
If you're intent on having this, find a reputable jeweler, or better still, a shop that does the work for jewelry stores in your area and find out if they'll do the plating for you. It should cost no more than the shipping from Bulgaria to do it that way.
