I wish I had the right words to comfort you, albeit these challenges will become past memories. Things change continuously and some changes can burden us temporarily more than others. Under the light of our mortality, the fact that we all are going to die someday makes most situations to loose their tragic character and teach us to take ourselves not so seriously. Our life is a journey of perception, we become wiser all the time.

Yes thanks indeed @perseus - I appreciate the kindness in this thread from all.

I'm trying 29 gauge in my damaged looking but still functioning piccoloid. It's an odd gauge but a friend swears by it. Especially in the spheroid.

Edit-

Widely spaced six wraps from outside of screws in with 29 gauge and native wicks platinum gives me a better vape than 6-7 wraps of 28 with cotton bacon. As I'd thought previously the same thing that makes cotton bacon great for a lot of atomizers (it's density) holds me back when using thick liquid in the spheroid. So changing to native wicks was a positive for this application. Though I think cotton bacon is great I don't feel it works well in atomizers with limited room for wicking. Whereas it works great in squonk and drip setups. Or tanks like the hurricane or taifun gt2, etc where you can use a lot.

Here's the build on which I settled and it's extremely flavorful with the perfect size hit and decent battery life too surprisingly. I'll post a pic in case anyone wanted to see. I love this build in here. A lot of the posters here may prefer 7 wraps I guess but it's a good vape for me with 6. And the gunner wire heating up more quickly is a nice bonus. It's instant.

(I evened out the spacing better after snapping this pic. Though I don't feel it has to be prefect or matters much. I'm sure some won will point it out!)

I use 28g in just about every thing now. Small battery sacrifice but worth it. But lately I've moved my daily spheroids to ss wire. I actually like it. Get an extra couple of wraps in.

I've now tried a bunch of SS wire. Probably have seven spools of it. Lightening vapes. Unkamen. Beadalon. eBay generic. My experience so far is hat the stuff rated as 316 from eBay is actually 304 and when used like that it seems to be the most reliable for tc, and that when using 316-17 for temp control is very unreliable but 304 works pretty well and can be used with devices not using Temp control as well while keeping a similar number of wraps. Where the other as you stated requires a few more wraps. So that's nice.

Overall I was very high on it initially for temperature control but have since found nife48 from zipif to be the cleanest tasting most reliable temp Material. 29 kanthal in the piccoloid setup works really well with the smaller battery for quick heat up and where less wraps is more desirable. I moved away from contact coils for the most part a year ago now as spaced coils offer better density in my experience.
In the Heron v3 however I may try a non temp control setup of stainless again - which wire are you using and preferring ? I can't seem to find a good 316-17 for use with yihi chipset devices in temp control. I don't have my HnP in my possession right now. Hopefully by next week I'll be able to get more things from my now ex's place when my back permits moving things. It stinks to have nice gear I can't play with.

Also I need to buy a few more 14500 / (499 ?)batteries. I've been using aw for now but are there any which offer a bit more capacity in your experience ? There aren't too many reviewed at the flashlight site.

I can't speak for eBay. Ordered in Amazon. It's 316L wire. I also cannot speak for TC, although I do have one coming tomorrow. I may test out the TC at some point but that isn't my immediate goal.

I have done contact coils for a few years now. They work well for me. 5-6 wraps and my spheroids are dialed in at.95-1.1. But that is with 28g K. I wanted to keep it at the 28 but add more wraps. I tested out the SS and have been pleasantly surprised. But it also seems for me to depend on the juice. GVC, for example, just leaves an odd flavor. Not bad. Just different. Not as sweet. As for spaced coils, until I'm ready to test out the tc, I'll be leaving them in contact. My heron and spheroid with extremely well with the SS. They vape perfectly on the Paps mods so why mess with them.

I've tested a few other attys, against my better judgement, but two of them worked out well. The main goal here was to get Jojo an Atty that she could build and yet taste the exact same flavor in gvc as the Atty she had.

Regarding GVC and my taste buds, since I vape only that, I enjoy it better with fluff builds which are very efficient consumption wise, producing dense vapour and unparalleled taste. In tank mode, a certain amount of the flavour is missing, the consumption rate ranges from average to extreme, produces thinner vapour and a very clear taste for a while, then it is "cooked", overall it is different, less aromatic in my opinion. The tank atomizers due to their structure, tend to boil the juice after a while diminishing its flavour, especially the more delicate notes in contrast to a Spheroid mode or a dripper where things are always fresh.

^ I agree with this. It's funny how every Atty either takes away or adds to the flavor of a juice. But in particular, the flufless builds "drink" the juice. I went through too much gvc in those builds. and this is where the statement "taste is subjective" comes into play.
When I come up with new DIY flavors, I'll actually test them and place them with the atomizer that I personally feel I entirety l enjoy the flavor with the most. Some better in heron and vice versa. Example is the sweeter dessert seems to go better with spheroids for me.

I had a stock built up. I am not sure he's had a sale this year. Can't speak for certain. But this regulation may change that to make it worse. I am trying to determine if Aug 8 is a cut off for bringing anything into the US. I know IN the US there is some grace period add long as vendors apply. But I'm not sure of a grace period on outside vendors into US

Speaking of GVC... has anyone been able to acquire some?

My last order was on November 6, 2015. For whatever reason, I haven't been consuming much GVC since then and I still have a 100ml bottle (sorry, not for sale or trade).

You know I been trying to figure out and tinker with my Spheroid V4 a lot, but I can't get the flavor quite as good on it as it was on the previous models.. I think I realized what it really is. I think the sperhoid v4 is better for more open airflow because the air hole under the coil is quite large. I think for guys like me who like really tight draws, that air hole needs to be a little smaller... So im gonna keep one v4 for when I want a little more airy draw, and put my other on the market place.. Probably gonna pick up a v3 too.. Maybe you guys can make a piece or something that can be inserted in the air hole below the coil to make the air hole a little more restricted.. I remember Qorax saying to roll up mesh and put it in there, I have to give that a try.

This was my finding as well. Therefore my preference is the v3. The air can be severely cut by just barely leaving the ring open/mostly closed but it's not the same.
A second reason for flavor reduction is the fluff. If I want flavor in the v4, it's almost closed air and fluff build. Flufless just doesn't deliver the flavor the same. Again, my taste.

Sure the fluff keeps the vape maybe fresher when the tank gets dirty from buildup.. But I think the main reason is the air hole being huge. No matter how u close down the airflow control that air hole beneath the coil is just way too large for m2L... M2L needs a small air hole.. once you open that air hole ur making a device for airy draws.. Qorax recommended putting mesh in there somehow. Maybe the luff adds to it, but i have had atties with no fluff that gave great flavor just like the spheroid v3 and they too had a small air hole under the coil.. Seems to be the common factor.
