I honk I finally found a technique for wicking 90% VG in the heron v2. The problem with juice that thick is to sick at a reasonable speed it sort of rolls along the wick it doesn't really soak in. The issue is if you leave too little wick when you don't vape regularly it ends up leaking.
The solution I'm finding seems to be sticking to a 2mm id coil and then as
@qorax shows in the first video he made cut to the side of the heron as a guideline - and wick tight even with cotton. Preferably a hair or two less than the side of the heron. Don't wet the entire wick when testing. Just wet the center leaving the sides fluffy. Then cap it. Once you cap it take tweezers or a small Screwdriver and instead of spreading it out as we do for most liquid , push the wick back just so it sits inside the opening. The top of the hole pushed back slightly farther than the bottom of the hole.
This allows the natural pressure to push the liquid into the wick just at the entry to the chamber rather the. Just outside of the chamber where a thick wick prevents easy flow.
I've been using this technique for wicking a little while now with no overnight leaking and with a 1 ohm build I can chain vape 90% VG without a dry hit. The difference in this device from even 85% VG to 90% is big. Anything past 80 with the sort of normal pass it through and cut it method just can't wick fast enough for the way I vape. Not uncommon when using drip liquids.
Anyway I hope that description works for others. It seems complicated or tedious but that's just because it's a text description. The reality is its one extra step which takes a few seconds compared to just capping and cutting.
I'm still waiting for my fired to send the top cap to me which has he top hole - I think that will suit very very thick liquids better. In the spheroid the same effect is achieved by the upside down hurricane style wicking q also demonstrated that. But the way the heron v2 is made we can't wick t quite he same way. This method replicates the effect of bowing wick over the inside of the wick hole.
I hope you all are well. On a personal note my ex and I came to terms and while everything else remains miserable I now get custody of my dog 3-4 days a week. Which greatly enhances my quality of life. My pup really is my best friend as silly as it may sound to Some Of you. Or maybe since I never had children she's my substitute daughter

so I'm very happy to be able to have her in my life as it should be.
I'll post some picks of the wicking I do if anyone needs it. Unless you're using 85% + it's probably not necessary. And it may be easier just to dilute 1-2% with potable distilled water after decanting the drip juice to a unicorn bottle. I've found even half a cc of potable distilled water mixed with 30 ml of drip juice jobs it enough to solve most issues. Just make sure the distilled water is potable. From a grocery store.
