Rumoured on one of the other forums, for the life of me I can't remember where, started to think I imagined it. Here's a pic, looks similar to the innokin mpv. Gripper VV v2 at a store near you soonish???
No info on smok site for it, but remember reading a new chip set is in the making although this looks like it won't take 18650's.
So what do you all think?:D

Why does the gripper create so much more vapor on a lower setting that other PVs?

I have another very good 'P''V' I use it at 4.4 volts most of the time. If I am using it on 4.4 volts, take that tank off and put it on the Gripper and vape at 3.7 volts. I get at least as much if not more vapor. Take if off the Gripper and put it back on the other one. Change the other one down to 3.7 volts and get much less vapor that it had been putting out on the Gripper at 3.7 volts. Anyone know why this is?

The Gripper's output voltage doesn't match the voltage setting. Output to the carto/atty/tank is higher than set. You just have to start 'low' and step up to what vapes good for you.

I'm sayin ZMax guts (or at least the same functionatity) with LiPoly battery and onboard charging.

The battery door has been one of the biggest complaints about the Gripper. Solution: scratch the door.

Yep that would be great and built with the durable case like the Innokin MPV.

I just wrote smoktech with the following message. I hope they respond. If so, I'll post it.

" I love the gripper and am part of a forum (ecf) where the gripper is discussed. The gripper's electronics are wonderful, but there are major problems with the plastic case. The 510 connection becomes loose after some use, and the battery door fails for many users. I sincerely wish you would consider placing this design and electronics in an aluminum or stainless steel case with a more secure battery door, and no finger grips...just a smooth convex side for comfort. I believe if you do that...and keep all other components the same (18650 battery, etc) it will be the best selling e cig mod on the market, and will sell better than the zmax. I had two vv strippers and both broke after one or two months of use. I took out the electronics and placed them in a metal case and it works fine...but I'd rather have a nice finished product, that I would be willing to pay double the price of the plastic gripper. Thank you. "

If they would add the VW chip I would be all for buying one:).

Based on inspiration from a prior poster I finally transplanted the gripper into a chapstick tin. I'm pretty happy since I have zero electronics skills...but was able to do it....yay. it's not the best of tins (kinda feminine for a guy, but it's the smallest I found that will do the trick).

Too quiet here, is everyone gripper's dead or what? I just got back from vacation, my Gripper was full of sand but it survived ! The rubber paint on it is starting to fall though, it's a normal black paint under, it's less pretty but still quite functional, It's now 3.5 months old, it's really cheap but for 50$ I think I got my money back now!

I'm having the same issues as pretty much everyone else. Loose connector, crappy battery door, weak finish....I've had to superglue the rails the battery door locks into twice now in a couple months.

I'm torn between trying to machine an aluminum case for it and painting it, or just going the simple route and doing an Altoids box for it. I love the form factor versus a tube, but the execution of this device leaves alot to be desired. But, it was cheap, so what did I realistically expect?

I have two and one has a loose connector but the other one doesn't. I recently bought a MVP and it is kind of similar to the Gripper but is made of metal and very well built. It has a 2600 mah battery that is semi permanent similar to a cellphone battery. It doesn't display resistance though. I like them both!:)
