Hello all , just joined but not because I started vaping but because I am 6 days free of it . I was vaping for about 2 and a half years and I'm 25 years old.

I used to vape about 9-10 ml a day and it was taking over my life and costing me as much as cigarettes . I would stay around 3-6MG . I would be dehydrated no matter what I drank and my nights the past 2 months have been troublesome due to waking up from dry mouth. Eyes are always dry and tired from lack of sleep. These problems pretty much began from sub ohming. I never used to vape this much until I bought my first sub ohm set up.

The last 5 months or so I have been having breathing difficulties , not being able to catch my breath and I attribute this to vaping so much. I would wake up with the breathing problem being small and as I vaped throughout the day it would aggravate and I'd have trouble catching my breath. I thought it was pg or vg but I tried low nic and different types of vg pg concentrations . I figured it was just the amount of vape that was going in me (8-10ml). This is the main reason I had to quit.

I am now 6 days free of vape and my breathing issue is virtually non existent. The issues I am dealing with are still dehydration and insomnia. Withdrawal symptoms were and still are crazy . Everything I do I can relate to vaping so it's hard . I know that will subside .
My main concern now is the dehydration , I'm getting paranoid that I permanently altered by body and that I'll be dehydrated like this forever .. still as thirsty as while vaping.

Now before you say it could be some other issues . .. about a month ago I was lung x rayed and tested and I have no lung issues . I told them about my breathing issues and they said give vaping a break. Blood tests are good to go .

So my question is has anyone here quit? How hard was it and are you still dehydrated ?

Thanks

My question is why does it have to be cloud chasing subohm volume or nothing? Ever think of maybe going just a little less extreme? Lol
Good question. I'm a lowly Tootle Puffer and I've had none of those problems that were listed.

I know of one member who quit vaping. He still posts modding info because he has considerable knowledge on the subject. I suspect that most members that have quit vaping no longer post here.

I often wonder about the health effects of extreme vaping. I have always believed in moderation when it comes to anything that one puts into ones body. I rarely subohm and I only go through about 4-5 ml a day. I can see that that consumption may increase in the future which worries me a bit.

I'm still a tootle puffer so I'm not too worried about what vaping is doing to me, yet. Since it's keeping me away from tobacco, I think it's, by far, the lesser of two evils.

I'm sorry you had so much trouble and I'm even sorrier that you're still having problems after stopping, but I would make ONE request of you. Please don't start badmouthing vaping and adding fuel to the "vaping is worse than smoking" fire.

Vaping saved my life. If not for vaping, I'd still be smoking 2 packs of cigarettes a day and wouldn't be able to breathe well, or go up or down stairs or back and forth from the house to the barn without having to stop and rest. I feel a thousand percent better since quitting the cigarettes. I will never be a "cloud chaser." I'm a lowly tootle-puffer, as are MANY people who use vaping to quit smoking. The cloud chasing crowd I think is small in comparison to those of us who have used it to make our lives better and healthier. Please don't become one of those who try to demonize it and make it more difficult for those of us who need it. You're only 27 - you're just a BABY, and you have your whole life ahead of you. Us oldsters, who spent most of our lives smoking because vaping hadn't even been invented yet, NEED this to stay off cigarettes. At 27, I can't imagine you'd smoked long enough to form an addiction like I had from smoking for 42 years at 2 packs a day. For me it was more than just a habit - it was a way of life. And I've been able to change that because of vaping.

So I beg you, don't ruin it for the rest of us. You're just one person, but every voice counts, and even more, the anti-vaping voices in today's climate. You can advocate CAUTION, and that's well and good, but please don't let yourself fall into a militant anti-vape stance. It helped you, once.

Don't worry I'm not bad mouthing it. I clearly know that I am over doing it and it's my own fault sub ohming a bottle of juice a day. Trust me I know the difference between cigs and vape is night and day . I spent almost 2 years not smelling bad and having a cleaner healthier body in general. It is only recent that I have been overdoing it and spending a lot of $$

Vaping has definitely help me become a man of no addiction and I am ever so grateful and without it I'd still be smoking cancer sticks

I tootle-puff and one of the reasons why is that I have had my blood profiles taken the entire time I've been vaping, and still struggle with the dehydration, which shows up on every one as a "flag" from the lab. (We compared to the years before that, which were all normal.) I hydrate twice as much as I used to, but it doesn't seem to matter. So, I can understand about the dryness for sure. :) We don't know the long term affects of on-going dehydration to the cells and body but not everyone seems to be bothered by this. It is a matter of one's particular metabolism. I have worked on lowering my nicotine very slowly to 0%-3% in an effort to have a quit date in mind, just because I seem to be particularly plagued by the dryness thing.

Not everything works the same for *everybody*. :)

I would never bad mouth vaping since dryness is still better than smoking cigs!

Don't forget dehydration is not all about liquid intake. It can also be about electrolytes. You might want to try something like Gatorade. If I'm not mistaken some people swear by coconut juice to help with hydration. I also believe bananas can help with some of the nutrients lost due to dehydration.

FYI It's always been my belief that extreme vaping could be hazardous. Simply because the most harmless things taken to the extreme can be dangerous, including drinking extreme amounts of water. I was keenly aware of this when I started vaping and made a concerted effort not to end up taking in more nicotine than I did when I smoked.

Good luck

Does Vaping dehydrate the body or just the mouth , because my urine is always clear lol

There are tons of "clincial" evaluations for dehyrdation, as well as values that can be read in blood profiles. Urine output is only one of them, but less about clarity of than of output i.e. reduced urine flow.

Yeah been taking biotene also at night but it only lasts for 3 hours . Man I remember a time where I'd be fine not even drinking a glass of water in a day.. until the clouds came

Well again, everyone is different.

And yes, there have been many people who used vaping to get off cigarettes and then later gave up vaping. Some still stay on the forum, most don't stick around, which makes sense.... so you're not going to get a whole lot of feedback from people who have quit vaping. They have probably moved on.

Some people want to vape forever and it works for them. Others, not so much. That is why everyone must evaluate for themselves, what they vape, how they vape, how much they vape, etc. There is even a SNUS topic area on here, so not everyone chooses vaping for their harm reduction.

YOu might want to check the "what's under your nose" in a search whick will take you to the SNUS forum. That may be an option for you.
