I've got it!

Took me about 6 weeks to make it to step one: smoke free.

Today [3rd day smoke free] I feel confident enough to create my signature :)

Thanks everyone for your support and advises!

I was smoking for about 20 years.
Got my first e-cig [808] about 6 weeks ago.
Couldn't quit right away.
First cut down from 20 analogs to 8.
2 weeks later reduced to 3-5 analogs and kept like that till 09/09/2010 - when my box mod arrived [http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/requests-opinions-reviews/119638-em-riva-vs-3-7-box-mod.html ].

I think a lot depends on right equipment to hit that sweet spot.

Most of the people believe that Ego/Riva are best to actually quit. I'm going with box mod (technically its same thing but with different look and more practical).

My success equipment:

2xAA Box Mod with slow change LED + NEW 510 Mega Low Resistance Cartomizers + WOW Vapor WOWBoy smokeless electronic cigarette juice

I've been vaping since 8/16/10 - had a couple of cigarettes first few days - pack was gone and then it was only ecigs - I have several flavors and strengths of liquids...I am down to 11's and 18's - but some flavors just aren't there at those strengths...after smoking over 2 packs a day, I am amazed that I no longer smoke - have 2 packs in the fridge and they don't bother me..and I am so grateful to the person who introduced me to vaping...I love peach cobbler in the morning and Wowboy - ordered R4Y from V4L - tastes like peanuts...ordered from another vendor, just to compare - I love the variety that you just can't get with analogs - vanilla, blueberry, pineapple, 555..can't wait til I am down to 0 nic...that will be wonderful.

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!
27 years pack a day smoker. vaping on and off for 2 years. no analogs since July 25. have no desire to go nicotine free. i need a little nicotine to keep my BMR up...dont want to gain weight. plus i need it for its stimulant properties (just like my coffee)....i have no major health problems, blood pressure runs nice and low, and my heart rate is in the 60s, so i am not concerned.

Love hearing everyone's story!

Vini congrats!

I haven't had an analog in just over 5 weeks. Realizing as I read some of the stories that I'm not sure how I'll do when faced with an evening at the bar with my friends. Did notice someone else smoking at a stop light the other day. I could smell it and had to look around! It made me smile to realize that my sense of smell has changed already!

I was still smoking 1-3 cigs a day while vaping for nearly 2 months. Now I am 7 days about to go into day 8 smoke free. I don't think I've decreased my Nicotine intake at all maybe even slightly increased compensating for the other addictive crap in cigs, but I feel a lot better. I imagine I will over time slowly decrease my nicotine intake, but I imagine that it will take quite awhile to reach 0 nic. Not sure if I will keep vaping at 0 nic or give it up hard to say. These things are miraculous in my eyes I smoked for 19 years and tried pretty much everything else.

Congrats, Vini!!

I was one of the lucky ones that was able to quit upon receiving my PV...I'll be two weeks quit tomorrow! As for my history, I was a PAD smoker for 17 years. Tried to quit because of the constant guilt and my kids badgering me, but we all know that we only quit when we're good and ready. I had tried another PV kit a year ago, but couldn't stand the flavor of the pre-filled cartos (made me ill), so gave up. Well, I got a nasty cold/URT infection and ordered another kit on a whim, determined this time to make it work.

I've already managed to wean myself down to 6 mg. I'm really enjoying pairing my juice with foods and beverages! LOL Right now I have no real intentions of quitting vaping. I didn't set a quit date for analogs, and I certainly won't set one for this. If I wind up down to 0mg and feel like I don't need to do it anymore, so be it, but I'm not gonna pressure myself.

Also, I've been to the bar twice with some friends since quitting cigs, and have had absolutely no problem not smoking. I even go outside with them and enjoy a vape while they smoke their stinkies...I do still love the smell of a freshly lit analog, however. Always will, I think.

Yup. You will make it! Vaping for 3 weeks now, without a single cigarette, after a pack and a half of camel filters per day.

Here is what I did (If you have kids, or nieces or nephews, look at their picture and realize they need you in their life)

I already had an ecig before I set a date. Then I set a date about a month out. I started anticipating that date, and actually got kinda excited. I did not touch the ecig until the 20th. (I had used the ecig about 6 months before, so I knew it worked. I wasnt ready to quit yet, so I just shoved it in the drawer.) Just make sure you have enough carts and e liquid to completely remove the analogs. I found myself excited to start using e-cigs instead. And my first week of vaping, discovered the extensive different flavor offerings on line. Holy scat Batman!

It seems like it will be easy to nic down over time, as I really need to nic down right now. Having too much fun vaping. Its like sampling at the ice cream store when a new juice order arrives. Just wish I had gotted an ego.

After 55+ years of smoking 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day, I quit the same day my 510 arrived (now using a REO), and I haven't smoked since. At present I'm vaping 30mg juice, and will eventually reduce that, but I doubt that I will ever quit vaping. I find it enjoyable and relaxing - also a lot of fun to try all of the various juice available, and even mix a few of my own....

I got my ecig 12 days ago and have not had or wanted a cigarette since. I smoked a pack a day for about 10 years. My first day I used 6mg nic, and then went to 0mg on the next day and ever since. It was obvious to me right away that all I wanted was the hand-to-mouth thing and to "feel" like I was smoking, which is why I was never able to quit with the nic gum or patches. No nicotine at all in my system for 11 days and I feel great. I was in withdrawal for maybe 3-4 days. I plan to keep vaping, but I can already tell my physical addiction is gone. I didn't even think about vaping until this afternoon.....I used to wake up and smoke first thing in the morning, every day. It just feels like something to enjoy....not something I HAVE to do. My boyfriend smokes regular cigarettes right in front of me and it doesn't bother me a bit. I am so happy I decided to try it!
