Yes, you will make it! I stopped my PAD habit as soon as my PV arrived. My mental trick was I am NOT going to stop smoking analogs, just start vaping. Everytime I wanted analog I would go outside and vape, just like I'd always done it. Before I knew it, I realized I hadn't smoked an analog for several days. Yes, I still wanted one at first but just kept saying...I'll vape instead. During that time I would light my husband's analogs occasionally and hand it off. Now, I don't even like the taste of the analog...vaping is my preference...it just takes time and everyone success is a little different. Started at 24mg - down to 9mg in 1 month, 28 days. Good luck!

Great comments here. I'm just starting down this road myself, but couldn't be more pleased. I smoked about 1/2 pack a day, and since the day after I got my kit, I've only slipped once, when I was away from the pv (kayaking / snorkeling) for about 4 or 5 hours and panicked a bit. :)

I agree it's helpful

1) to come here, and see all the success stories and enthusiasts (which is what really "sold" me, by the way -- thanks everyone) and

2) to not to put too much pressure on yourself re: "this is my *last* cigarette, forever!" (Cue scary music). I've got 9/10 of carton laying around untouched. When I slipped, I didn't freak out. It was one cig out of the dozen I would've smoked that day, and it didn't flip any kind of "switch" and make me want to go back. It just wasn't that great.

I give myself "permission" to smoke one someday if I absolutely must, so it's kind of like I'm procrastinating with the pv. "Eh, I'll get to the cig later." And I'm GREAT at procrastinating.

Thing is, I was tired of smoking. I had all the usual addictive behaviors -- situational, with beer or coffee or what not, as a "break," after dinner, etc. But it's such a pain in the neck dealing with all the attendant mess / inconvenience /risk / cost. Dirty ashtrays (which never ceased stinking and grossing me out) fussy lighters, smelly clothes, going outside in the rain to the distant "smoking spot" at work, smelly / dirty car, burn holes in pants, etc., etc., etc. Hated buying them, too, and the fact that a carton of my brand is now $60 in my area didn't help that any.

Every time I hear those cigarettes calling to me, (and they do still call, sometimes) I think about all those drawbacks (and the gigantic health issue, of course) and focus on how clean, tasty, and convenient the pv is. "Smoking" in the car with the windows rolled up?! Pausing in a stairwell, restroom, or what have you instead of taking the March of Shame outside? Staying inside when it's 100 degrees on the porch? Still playing with flavors / nic levels, but I seem to be getting what I need now. Don't know if I want to "vape" forever, but it's such a vast improvement on smoking, and controls the "need" so well that I can't see going back.

I quit smoking analogs (after 30 years) using 510 mega and 18mg e-juice ... going on day 28 now :)
Plan to reduce the Nic slowly util I am down to zero...

I started vaping to completely QUIT smoking and completely stop consuming nicotine.
At this point I have reduced analogs from 20 to 6 per day.

For some reason, when I just think about this one being my last real cigarette, my mind/body go nuts. I start feeling physical discomfort and need lots of nicotine. In fact I'm fulling myself with excuses like "don't feel like going outside - that's why better to vape" etc.

Anyway, sooner or later I will completely switch to ecigs. Than, I'm planning to reduce nicotine to 0 and than, hopefully, completely quit vaping.

It may be complicated, because vaping itself seems to be attractive.

Has anyone quit smoking and viping?

I know exactly what you're going through. I still give in to a few analogs every day. Yes, it's easier to smoke than vape, but for me it's more of a mental thing where I know I'm "not really smoking" and let myself have "just one" real cigarette. I've been vaping for 3 weeks and it's time for me to commit to putting down the analogs 100%. 18mg takes care of all my physical cravings. I just need to stop playing that silly mind game with myself, and fight the compulsion to light up. I'll get there and I plan to use the support of ECF to stay there!! You guys are a big help!! I'll worry about the nicotine level later.

I got mine on a sat and quit on the following monday and haven't had a real cig since! I am all for the vaping! I smoked ultra lights for years and am at 12mg carts now and will go to 6mg carts next month then 0mg carts. Its the best thing for me since.....well......sliced bread man!!!

20+ year smoker at a pack a day!! Never again!!!

Im going on 2 months without purchasing a single pack. Yeah, that was a tactful way to put it. In those 2 months I have smoked 6-8 cigs. Only once did I blame it on my ecig failing, the other times I was out drinking and was craving. The most recent time I smoked an analog was on Saturday, and it was my usual brand.. I am pleased to report it tasted like garbage though!

My equipment, a 510 vapor king.

Im here to hopefully learn more about how to use these things and make it an all around good experience.

For me, it's been 4 months and 3 days since my last analog. And I never thought about it though. As a smoker, I used to have 1 pack of Marlboro each day. Vaping makes me happy and relax. Haven't escape the nic yet :(
I'm using 6mg & 11mg nic juices now. Well.. at least I don't inhale some tar, carbon monoxide and other harmful toxic fumes with my daily nic intake to my lung.

I'm totally off of analogs! The only odd thing is that the few times I've snuck one, I've actually gotten a huge buzz. I didn't expect to since I'm getting nic from my vapes. Odd, huh?
Not necessarily, it is probably the carbon monoxide that is giving you that buzz.

after 47 days without an analog, I have to say this is the first thing i've tried to use to quit smoking that hasn't had me sneaking ciggs, 47 days has been 47 days....that's huge!!! with everything else about 2 weeks into it, I was sneaking ciggs until I gave in and stopped pretending I'd really quit.

They still smell great to me, only this time I have no desire to "have just one".

At some point I do want to ween myself from the e-cig, until I do that, I'm not that confident should should my PV equiptment somehow "vaporize" (pun intended) that I wouldn't go back to cigarettes right away.

I bought a disposeable first to see if it would work. On those days I still smoked 4 analogs a day. On the 4th day, I got my kit. I quit the same day I got it. I had quit several times before using patches and Wellbutron. Never was quitting as easy as this time. It was like a miracle! I have already converted 4 people over to vaping. I use a KR808d-1 model, auto batteries. Don't miss smoking at all. No plans to quit vaping. Now I can have my cake and eat it too!

Hey Vini I placed my order for my very 1st pv on aug. 20th & it took about 3 days to arrive because of the weekend (DAMN YOU SUNDAY, DAMN YOU TO HELL!!) anyway when I got it I charged 1 of the batteries while it was charging I stepped outside to have a smole or 2 or 3 (when I was smoking I would chain smoke 3 - 6 or 7 at a time) I went to work & I vaped on my breaks & on my lunch & I was hooked really, so when I got home that night my battery died, so I started charging it, & the craving hit me, I needed to have a vape but I couldn't 'cause my battery was charging & the other 2 batteries that came with my starter kit were'nt strong enough, so I had no choice I went outside & had an analog, when I 1st lit it up it was nasty as hell I couldn't believe that I was smoking that crap for 22 years, with the one I was smoking I had 3 left that was a total of 4, so I kinda forced my self to smoke 2 more & that was it, I gave my last analog to my dad, & ever since I've been vaping & haven't gone back & I don't want to after that expirence, I'm going on 3 weeks & 2 days analog free & I feel great, since then I've gotten a device called a pass through which saves my batteries so I can vape in the car @ home in front of the computer, it's great this whole vaping expirence is awesome I wouldn't go back to analogs even if someone paid me, I would consider my health more important than anything else. Happy vaping everybody !!

I got/used my 1st ecig on 9/11/10. I smoked my last analog at 6:30 am that
day, and although I really wanted an analog, I just kept vaping,
and eventually the urge went away. I've had a few strong urges, but I really,
really don't want to smoke again.
I smoked for 30 yrs. At least a pack a day, mostly a pack and a half. Sometimes 2.
Quit once for 2 days, thought I'd lost my mind. Started crying and couldn't stop.
That was horrible! haha Smoked through 4 pregnacies. I felt horrible. Second attempt
with patches and gum, nope, smoked with them. Almost gave myself a heart attack!
I'm vaping 16mg. I hope to cut down the level, but not going to worry about that
anytime soon. I just can't beleive I'm not smoking!
