i started with a 510 pcc kit and quickly found the battery life wasnt working for home, so i got 900 ego for home and use the starter kit when im not. all i buy now is juice(and just cut the cost of that doin diy) and fluxo's. stock up when i need to and get enough for free shipping(not going to go to waste) a fluxo lasts 3-4wks(rotating 2 diff with 2 diff flavors) and broke even a while back. i dont need the newest space aged thingymabob to be happy. was smoking the cheyanne baby cigars at $20 or so a week and have still broke even. :)

I consider it a hobby that is also saving my life and sanity. I quit smoking my 3 packs a day about 6 years ago but ended up addicted to gum and lozenges. I am intolerable without nicotine! And incapable of controlling the habit I was consuming enough gum and lozenges to overdose on nicotine. Not to mention what it was doing to my stomach.

I've spent a small fortune and am enjoying every bit of it. I've also made some converts along the way, too. I can't put a price on that.

I didn't start vaping to save money, it was all about being healthy and a better, less-harmful way to feed my nicotine addiction.

Even though I've bought a buttload of different juice while experimenting, 3 KGO kits and assorted cartos/clearos/fluxos and such, I'm probably at about the breaking-even point. In fact, I may still be a little ahead...I have enough juice to last me a few months (if I vape the juice I dislike), back-up batteries, chargers, cones, cartos, and now that I know what I like, I'm ordering larger, more economical sizes that won't go to waste. Or get given away.

I'm not really tempted by mods and "upgrades" at this point; quite happy with the status quo and it's working for me so far! And of course my health and the fact my house, vehicles and person don't reek of cigarette smoke any more is way cool. :)

When I started vaping, I assumed it would be cheaper than smoking - it isn't...yet. I found a system I like without much trial and error, unlike many of you, but I have just barely broken even. I have kept track of every vaping related purchase so far(rather easy at only 30 days in). I'm at $210 spent, $210 saved.

How long did it take the rest of you to break even, or are you constantly upgrading/trying new juices and never got there?

Short answer: NO!!!!!!!!!!! I'm probably about @1000 in the hole. Having too much fun with flavors, cartos, clearos, tanks............ LOL!

Im still very very new to the wonderful world of Vaping but I do think I will save money in the next few months after all the initial costs. I bought a Volt kit which I'm more than happy with. So I got about 5 batteries, some blank carts, pre-filled carts, pcc case, chargers, etc. I just started ordering e liquids and will soon have about 180ml of juice.

Before when I was smoking analogs I spent aprox. $120 a month. In one week I've spent $210 but have everything I need for a while. It will pay off though as I seem to vape a lot less in comparison to smoking real cigs, so my supplies shall last for at least the next 6-8 weeks. Overall such a good decision to make for my health and longevity

Definitely haven't saved a cent! :D

We're at the point we could go for many many months without buying anything....but right now DH and I are still enjoying trying new juices, picking up new mods, and buying new tanks. I'm sure we'll slow down pretty quickly, as one can only have so many vaping toys. For now we're having a lot of fun with it, and we started vaping with only one goal in mind....to stop smoking and we've done that.

We've only been vaping for a little over 3 months though, so ask again in a few months and we'll probably have hit the point where we only restock juices and cartos when needed. Between the DH and I, we were spending over $300 a month smoking........

Saved $ LOL
I have spent $1200 in 4.5 months but part of that was trying to quit cigs with 2 stick kits @ $80 each plus more cartos than I can remember. Now I have 2 KGO kits @ $43 each plus 15 clearomizers and enough flavor concentrates/nic base/PG/VG to last for a long time. At present the average daily cost is 2.5 times what cigs were but it is starting to drop daily now.

The largest savings I am counting are in my health, I now feel like I am 15 years younger and can finally breathe deeply again. I smoked for 45 years and the cost of vaping is well worth it!!:toast:

Someone brought up burn holes. No kidding!! Burns in carpets. Holes in furniture, car seats, car carpets and clothes. I have at least $500 or more worth of clothes that were bought for no other reason than to replace the identical piece of clothing with a burn hole from a cigarette. And, l won't even mention costs of re-painting walls and replacing tar stained blinds and curtains and air filters and god-knows whatall else.

Seriously, you'd have to go out of your way to not save money if you vape instead of smoke for a year or two.

I smoked outside, so I didn't have any home/furnishings issues except for my car(still slightly smells like cigs). I can't remember the last time I burned clothes. My clothes usually get wrecked because I manage to spill food on them. Any expensive shirt or pants is guaranteed to get tomato sauce, red wine, or chocalate spilled on it. i can't even blame the kids for that.

I spend way more vaping than smoking. I spent way over a grand at Nite Lite Vapor this year alone, not joking at all. Even though they are my only juice vendor, I've spent quite a bit at other places on hardware, too. But, it's way more fun than smoking, way healthier, I smell better, and I can do it anywhere I want. Plus, out of all that money I've spent on juice, I have quite the stockpile. So, it's not like I've actually vaped that much juice in this amount of time, so I can't really compare it to a pack a day habit since I truly have no idea how many days worth of juice I have. Same with hardware. I found a couple of good deals on batteries and bought up a few. I have several Egos that are new in the box, just sitting there if I need them or someone wants to buy one at work after they see mine.

No savings yet, but I’m not focused on that. It’ll come when it comes.
Right now I’m too busy celebrating being analog free for 2+ months now…the first time in over 35 years!
Cost of that? Priceless!

I’ve pretty much settled on gear for now, but seeing that my taste buds are finally working a little, now I’ll be spending on trying different juices, then most likely on learning to mix my own. So from here on out the balance will slowly shift towards saving and someday I’ll find myself in the black. But as others have said it, the huge savings will be in medical costs down the line, and quality of life.

Unfortunately, I did not know about this place or I wouldn't have spent so much on my mistics and cartridges. Once I got my eGo-c, i started buying juices and stardusts and still doing it. Then, I bought another eGo, as I thought i had broken the first one. Just got my eGo twist and waiting for the charger in the mail.
So no, I definitely haven't saved money but the high I get when a package arrives in the mail is almost worth it. This is a hobby for me and since I rarely treat myself to anything, this is my one vice.
I was just thinking today that I bet my local smoke shop misses me...$300-400 a month on cigs and clove cigars. I hope I don't ever go back again as I feel sort of badly for them (don't ask me why).

within the first 6 months or so, i spent TONS -- bought a few different setups, but that was nothing compared to the amount i spent on juice: over 100 bottles during that time frame (not an exaggeration, unfortunately); two thirds of which, i HATED.

and the ones i actually liked were either astronomically expensive (ecopure, for example), or ruined my cartos within 1-2 *days* on average (all dark or sucralose sweetened juices from anywhere did this, regardless of the carto i used -- and i tried oodles of different cartos).

i now make my own juice, and SAVE a ton...and the juice is so much cleaner, my cartos now last 1-2 *weeks*. i rotate 4 ego 1000 batteries, which last over a year each...

so, all tolled, these days, my total monthly cost for vaping = less than $20 -- that's right, *TWENTY BUCKS!!*

Well this got me thinking. After totaling my reciepts for hardeware and juices (plus some of each on the way), I am in the hole for about $100. Even with the cost of juice for the next few weeks I should break even by mid July:) My hardware includes an ego/riva starter kit that I take to work and in the car, a SB with either a tank or atty for dripping at home, and a Bogger Box (on order) for anytime I want more than the ego can handle. A VV mod may be in my future, but with the right atty/cartos the SB can handle it for now.
Oh ya, the lady at the local convenient store though I moved or died. I used to see her daily, now I see her maybe once every two weeks when I buy doughnuts!
