You will catch up sooner or later...sadly the second you do you will want to spend the money saved on somthing new lol at least that's how I feel ATM :2c:

Once I break even and start saving, it goes into my vacation fund. Key West for a weekend the end of August ... A 14n cruise in December. Should I be saving it? Probably. Maybe later, but for now I want to enjoy things I couldn't particularly afford before.

Well this got me thinking. After totaling my reciepts for hardeware and juices (plus some of each on the way), I am in the hole for about $100. Even with the cost of juice for the next few weeks I should break even by mid July:) My hardware includes an ego/riva starter kit that I take to work and in the car, a SB with either a tank or atty for dripping at home, and a Bogger Box (on order) for anytime I want more than the ego can handle. A VV mod may be in my future, but with the right atty/cartos the SB can handle it for now.
Oh ya, the lady at the local convenient store though I moved or died. I used to see her daily, now I see her maybe once every two weeks when I buy doughnuts!

I'm about $100 down as well right now. That might increase a bit depending on the reviews of a juice vendor that has a special going on right now. 6 weeks and $100, that's not too bad in my book.

Ratchet, my family used to be stationed at Ramstein. We lived in Kussel

I'm on day 3 of vaping. Spent about $150 so far in equipment and juice; I have approx. another $160 in more ordered equipment and liquids coming.

I can see this vaping shopping becoming a real "hobby".

Savings for me are I've smoked 0 (none) cigarettes since the mailman came on day 1! All good.

Not yet but in time it will pay off. My misses is watching all this stuff arrive and looking at the bills but she doesn't smoke and she really enjoys my efforts.

It's quite amazing as without trying and just playing with stuff I cut down from 25/30 analogs to just 5 and yesterday 2 and thats without even trying. Got a confused throat and my body is reacting in strange ways lol.. he smokes but no tar.

I have spent a small fortune on stuff. A lot has gone to waste. Thats my own fault.

But living is important and isn't it strange how ..

You smoke an analog and then vape and it's yummy..
You vape and smoke an analog and EEEWWWW !!!

It's inevitable that it's curtains for analogs and thats priceless...

When I started vaping, I assumed it would be cheaper than smoking - it isn't...yet. I found a system I like without much trial and error, unlike many of you, but I have just barely broken even. I have kept track of every vaping related purchase so far(rather easy at only 30 days in). I'm at $210 spent, $210 saved.

How long did it take the rest of you to break even, or are you constantly upgrading/trying new juices and never got there?

We're in the same boat :toast:
Still on Ego-T :glare:
I've been searching to find the right PV that would last 5 years

Personally I think the savings come in once you've settled on a brand and you end up staying with it for the long term. Of course, a lot of us experiment with different components or juices and end up spending a whole lot more than if we were to smoke tobacco...at first. Then we settle into our routine. I think that's where the savings come in: You've got the batteries and other components to run the equipment and only buy refills.

That's just my opinion though.

It has been 3 or 4 weeks for me an I have have spent so much money an haven't saved a dime. 1st got an E-power 14something then saw pbursardo review of the kgo so got 3 of those. A week later got a EGO twist. Past friday my chrome LT came in. I must say I wish I had just got 2-3 EGO twists from the get go. Those things are amazing. Then add to that all the cartos an tanks an juice an drip tips an storage an DIY stuff (to make my own tanks) an tools an a slap yo momma( btw such a must have item if you like cartos in tanks IMO) an juice ( ya I said juice twice cause damn trying to find some ya like is a chore) an back up chargers. I do believe though it's cause I am a shopaholic lol

I think the "savings" begin to build once the initial buying frenzy ends. The amount "saved" displayed in my banner more accurately means "money not spent on cigarettes, but would have been". At least for now. :2cool:

A few months in here..

There was a lot of experimentation with juice and delivery methods at first (i.e. cartos and tanks). I've settled on some ry4s (looking for something as good as and cheaper than tribeca) and clearomizers. Even buying Tribeca though, I'll be saving quite a bit I think. I go through about 3 30 ml bottles a month (a bit over $60) and can make just one clearo last a long time (and I'm stocked up on those). I stick to 3.7v or less. I don't need any fancy VV mods.

I'm only now situated with this set up, but I'll be saving a lot of cash from now on. When I was smoking, I was going through 4 cartons a month (at least) - at $40-50 a pop. The only thing I could do better than this DIY my own RY4s.

$60 a week x 4 = $240 a month
$240 a month x 12 = $2880 a year

There's no way I could spend that much on vaping supplys unless I bought like 10 of the most expensive pv's there are.

The first 2 months are where you will drop the most $ trying to figure out which juice and pv you like.

As others have mentioned, buy in bulk and get in on some co-ops and you will be set.

Bought, sold and traded way too much for the time that I've been here but loved every minute of it. It's cheaper than a lot of other hobbies and saved my life. Felt guilty with every purchase until I decided that I'm worth spending a few bucks on :). If I'm gonna live longer I might as well enjoy it.

Since I started vaping (about a month ago), I definitely have NOT saved money LOL.

I'm trying to settle down on a set up that works for me though, I can kinda already feel myself sticking to one or two things. And as far as juice, it's been a tedious process finding just the right juices to keep in rotation (and at a decent price). Once that's done, I'll hopefully get closer to my break-even point. ha

Been vaping almost 22 months and just started to save money. No regrets on what I've spent on vaping. For me its been part of the process in maintaining being smoke-free. If I chose to I could go for a long time without any new purchases and see my saving add up quickly now. A new vaping toy once in a while is fun, so I'm sure I will make a purchase once in a while just for the fun factor, but from here on out there will be lots of savings.
